  1. Anyone know if the Sioux-Tech games will be shown at any Fargo-Moorhead bars ?
  2. From a Bison fans' persepctive, there are definitely some pro's and con's about another Bison Sioux game in the near future. For starters, if the Bison were to win, would'nt there be some sort of an asterick linked to the nickel because of the amount of scholarships that NDSU has ? It wouldn't be the same feeling one would get if we had beaten them on a level playing field. I can also say that when these 2 teams play, you can throw out records, scholarships, D2 or D1-AA, it doesn't matter, anything can happen on that field. And how much would that suck for us Bison fans, if or when you beat us ? It's almost a lose lose situation for the Bison isn't it ?
  3. Fargo, ND. Born and raised. I'm a die-hard Bison fan that loves hockey. Staying true to my ND roots and rooting on the only college hockey team in the state. Go Sioux (hockey) !!!
  4. I think it is definitely a dude holding a guitar. And in my opinion, sort of resembles Dave Matthews. Pretty cool looking helmet. Go Sioux !!!
  5. Yeah, that's what I said. JBSU. You may have to have someone else explain this to you. I know what it stands for, but would do injustice to a good proper definition.
  6. I just wanted to post something since I am having hockey withdrawls already and it's been forever since I have posted anything. I hope Ammerman does well at JBSU. I really enjoyed watching him play down here in moorhead. And I also wanted to add.............GO SIOUX!!!!!!!!
  7. I'd also like to thank all those responsible for making this site what it is. This has basically been my first full season as a die hard Sioux Hockey fan. The previous few have been a hesitant Bison fan "trying" to become a die hard Sioux hockey fan. It's been a great ride thus far, and have appreciated not getting ripped on for my skewed loyalties. I have learned to hate the Goofers, cringe at WCHA officiating, and actually purchased 3 pieces of Sioux apparel. Hope to see #8 next year, along with all the other posters that make this site great. Go Sioux!!!
  8. So I'm sitting here reading all this stuff, in this thread and in others, about how someone needs to take Pauko out or "Meet Matt Greene" or stuff like that. Well what happened to instant retalliation in a game. What stopped any of our boys from beating the crap out of this kid when it happened at the Final 5 ? Why do we have wait until "next year" or do it in the most important game of the season. I was at that Final 5 game and I think Pauko's ice time after that hit was pretty limited, but I'm sure he was able to get a few more shifts in during that game, since the injury happened in the 2nd period I think. What was our response during that game, someone slammed a stick against the penalty box glass ? But hey, don't get me wrong here, I'm all for seeing a guy in green go toe to toe, man to man(questionable) with Pauko, but no cheap hit is going to make any of this situation better.
  9. Well up to this point, it has been a very succesful season and post season, and any team out there sitting at home would love to say they made it to the Frozen Four. I just think that losing to the Goofers would make everyone including myself forget how good it has been up to this point. Sure would be nice to get #8 this weekend, and I think we can do it. And another thing, this place is going to suck on Friday if the Goofers happen to beat us. The Skippy horn won't stop going off. I would hope they would just stay away and let us sit around depressed without rubbing any salt in the wound, and I would hope any Sioux fans out there would do the same and stay away from GoofersSuckLive, after we win. Go Sioux!!!!!
  10. "Jordan 3:16" , sort of a cliche, I know, but I thought it was good. Go Sioux!!!
  11. Yeah, how many times have I heard someone on here make referrence to an anouncer they heard, screwing up and saying "North Dakota State" when referring to the Sioux ? Not looking to start a war folks....(laying low.....as low as my big self can... )
  12. I was there first hand to witness this. Pretty crazy stuff. What did that sign say, that the gorilla took from you ?
  13. D-O-M-I-N-A-N-C-E, dominance, dominance, Gooooooooooooo SIOUX!!!! My first chance to put anything up on the board tonight after watching that great hockey game. I was little nervous early on with all the penalties being called but was really impressed how after the first, the Sioux were able to play physical and stay out of the box for the most part. I'd say every line was a "Red Pepper" line tonight, great work down in the trenches. Going to watch the Goofer game with a bunch of buddies from across the river tomorrow, should be fun......GO MAINE!!! And GO SIOUX!!! Get well Robbie!!!
  14. I figured this was as good a thread to comment in as any about the great weekend we had. The final 5 is such a great tournament. Can't really beat watching 5 quality teams play 5 quality games in 3 days. Really proud of the Sioux as well after a very solid showing down there. Must say that I had a hard time getting up for the title game but it was a good one nonetheless. Was pretty bummed to find no dome hockey at McGoverns, but I can see why they didn't have the table out, that place was packed. Ate way to many cheese curds this weekend too. Anyway, good luck to the Sioux this weekend. Go Sioux !!! Go Maine !!! And most importantly, get well Robbie !!!
  15. Me and a buddy will be sitting in the upper bowl right along a blue line, section 205, row 3, seats 1&2. We're thinking of hitting up the dome hockey at McGoverns before and after the game thursday, and then not sure where on Friday/Saturday. This could turn out to be a pretty sweet setup with the seedings. If all goes well for the Sioux, we could see them win Thursday, and play the very next game of the weekend against Denver, and win, and then go watch the Gophers get smoked by CC Friday night, watch the Pioneers beat the Gophers on Saturday, and watch the Sioux skate around with the Broadmoor on Saturday night. I know that's 3 wins in 3 days, but there playing pretty well right now, and JP is a wall. Man....I'm so stoked for this weekend !!!!! Go Sioux!!!

I remember going up to the old Ralph and watching a Sioux Goofer game and I think it was Hauser that was in net, if I'm not mistaken. And I clearly remember hearing the Sioux student section yelling "Hau-ser, Hau-ser, Hau-ser...SUCKS $***" Is that anywhere near Maryland fans yelling "FU-JJ" ? Just curious. It did make me chuckle though when I was there. And frankly, kids will be kids, although I do think the sister comment was a little over the top. JMO.
  17. I was doing a little research on ticketmaster.com and comparing the 5 game session tickets to single game tickets. Seems to me that buying 5 separate tickets comes out to be about $30-40 cheaper. Am I wrong in my estimation ? Still planning on going down regardless if the Sioux are there or not, just not sure on how many games we would attend.
  18. Went down to the cities this last weekend for the State tourney and fell back in love with playing Dome hockey or Bubble hockey. I used to play it all the time as a kid, but since there really aren't to many places in the FM area, or any for that matter that I know of that have it, I sort of forgot about it. We drove over to St. CLoud on friday after the MHD vs DE game to stay at a friends place, and the next morning we went to this great hockey bar and grill in Sartell, north of St. CLoud. Well there they had this SuperChexx dome hockey table and we probably played 20 games or so on it. The thing even recorded shots on net, how sweet is that. I looked on Ebay and some other various sites and found that that particular brand goes for about $2,500-3,000 new. I'd love to get my hands on a used, but taken care of model that is similar in quality, but not nearly as expensive. I'd like to be able to put a little work into it as well, like making a custom ice surface, with a Sioux logo at center, and painting new jerseys on the players. Sioux home whites & Goofer roadies or something like that. And I could even detail it to the point of particular position and a Sioux great with their name and number. Could be alot of fun. If anyone knows where I can land one or knows someone that knows someone in regards to this, let me know. Go Sioux!!!
  19. So the Goofers "host" the Final 5 ? It just so happens that the Xcel is right in their back yard. I do understand the business side about getting butts in the seats, but they should leave the format alone, regardless of who is in it. Leave the play in game for thursday, have that play in winner turn around and play the #1 on short rest, and make the 2 & 3 play at night. And God forbid some Goofer fan having to take a day off of work like all the other fans that have to travel many miles to see their team play. And personally, I don't mind seeing the 5 down there anyway, makes for a short trip to see the tourney. Instead of having to go to Denver, or Milwaukee (keep seeing this mentioned....are we thinking Madison here, just curious?) Just my thoughts. Go Sioux!!!
  20. True. The Xcel takes full advantage of all the Goofer fans that would be working during the day and unable to attend an afternoon game, by shifting it to a 7pm start so as to fill some seats. Makes sense to me. If the 5 was at the Ralph, I think it would be a similar situation if the Sioux were the #1. I gotta say that the Final 5 is the most enjoyable sporting events I attend every year. Go Sioux!!!
  21. Add to that the fact that they are playing the #1 seed too. Maybe a bit ridiculous, but definitely a perk for the #1 seed who already won the McNaughton Cup and maybe deserves playing the less rested team on Friday afternoon.
  22. Just figured I would give a quick update to what's happening down in St. Paul. Academy of Holy Angels just beat Bloomington Jefferson 3-2. From what I could see, it looked like Jefferson outplayed the Stars, but just were'nt able to bury the puck. Did ya'll see that wrist shot from the blue line from the Angels kid to make it 2-1 ? Pretty nice, caught the goalie offgaurd. Kind of nice to see the only 2 teams that beat the Spuds this year (WBL & Jefferson) out of contention for the title already. Tartan and Elk River are going at it right now, not sure on a score. Go Spuds !!!
  23. Wow, that is some in depth story line, glad to finally know what it means, thanks !!!
