Couple of quick questions about this Friday's game. Does Mankato hockey get covered on TV in the cities ? If so, which station ? Also, Is this game sold out or will it sell out ? I'm going to the Northern Iowa-Bison game on Saturday and we're staying in the cities Friday night so I was thinking if we left early enough Friday I just might go down to the game Friday night in Mankato, make it a really fun sports weekend. I've never been to a game there before so I'm kind of in the dark.

Isn't this the part where I say " Why is there a thread about the Bison on here ?" And then someone says, " They sure are jealous of us ", etc etc. Maybe the reason it was so quiet was the fact that the bison start the game with 2 false starts and a 3 and out I think, and then have to play catch-up the entire game. Generally when the other team is winning, it takes the crowd out of it. I was doing my best to make noise, but it wasn't the case with everyone. And yeah, alot of blue seats, not sure what that's all about. Guess you can always stay home and watch it on TV is what alot of people were thinking yesterday.

Very good points. Yes, a thursday game would be alot tougher to make. Another thing I was thinking about too is that Wyoming is a FBS team which, from a Bison fans' perspective, makes it more appealing. I know I never went to Ogden to watch the Bison play Southern UT so I think who they're playing has alot to do with it. Another thing too, for as many Bison fans that were there, I didn't seem to see alot of ND license plates, so a good majority could have been from the Denver area. I'm still wondering though, in spite of it being a thursday game and not being as close to Denver, how many were there ? I've never been to a road Sioux football game when they were'nt playing the Bison, so I really have no idea how many Sioux fans attend on average.

Anyone with a head count on the number of Sioux fans that were AT the game ? I thought that's where this thread was going with the "good support" title. Just curious to see how well Sioux fans travel. Not trying to start anything at all but myself and about 3-4,000 (heard different totals) made the trip to Laramie, WY. I'm just amazed at how many Bison fans go to road games. For a 12-13 hour drive that's pretty impressive to me. I guess the only thing I have to compare these figures to is from what I see in visitors section at the Fargo Dome. Very scarce most of the time. The only large numbers of visitor fans seem to come from SDSU and of course you guys. Close proximity helps though too. I'll have to wait and see how well MVFC fans travel.

Got a quick question since ya'll are talking about the roster and what not. Was wondering if anyone knew where Brock Setness went to ? I think he was either a RFr or a Fr QB. I saw him last year at a family reunion and he's like my 3rd cousin or something. I was just curious. Good luck to the Sioux this year. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys play some new teams in a new conference.

Heading to the Qwest Center in Omaha on Tuesday for show #8. Not a huge fan of indoor shows but any Dave at this point will be nice. I'm thinking I might not be able to go to Alpine this year. Looking at buying a condo so not sure what the money is going to look like. But I'll least get my fix on tuesday.

Hey ya'll, just figured I would drop in quicklike. Been to 7 shows, all Target Center and Alpine. Alpine is a blast. Going this summer and would'nt miss it. Last years' Sunday night show with the Roots was awesome. Eh Hee with the dude rapping was great.

I don't know what sort of team Rutgers puts out there but if were talking about the Bison men's team, you should definitely not overlook them. They have a way of picking up wins each year over some good teams from good conferences, Wis (Big10) Marquette (Con USA, Big East ?).

Figured I would pipe up and speak my mind. Probably not anything useful but opinions like anybody else's. I am a diehard Bison fan who joined this board because I love Sioux hockey, not to come and talk smack about Sioux football. As far as who wins a game between these 2 this year, there really is no way to say for sure who would win. No matter how much talent, how many schollies, or overall record, really don't mean anything when these 2 teams meet on the field. It's a rivalry and when you have that, it just comes down to who wants it more I think. The only edge I see between these 2 teams is our QB. I'm not trying to be a homer, and honestly I haven't seen your team play this year, so I can't say the "QB edge" goes to Walker. But this kid really is something special, even Sioux fans should be able to admit that. He seems to have this sick ice water in the veins style of play. Roehl and Chappell are 2 different kinds of runners I think, again, haven't seen him play. Roehl goes through people, and it sounds like Chappell goes around them, in a very quick manner. We could sit here all day and compare the 2 teams but it isn't going to solve anything, it just proves how much we all don't really like each other. But as far as respect goes, I have it for you guys, no question about that. If the Sioux were on our schedule this year, regardless of where it was played, it would by far be the one I would be most nervous about. And I remember what it felt like when we went out and beat Montana a few years ago and how thrilling that was and I knew you were all feeling it last year at UNI. I think we really need to embrace the fact that we have 2 awesome programs up here and next year your addition into FCS is really going to help NDSU put North Dakota on the national map. I look forward to playing again, because I really want that nickle back.

In the past, we've stayed at the Four Points Sheraton in, I think Roseville, just north of downtown Minny. It's about 7 miles or so away from the X, so it's not usually to bad of a drive. Just wanted to get closer than we usually were but I think at this point getting any room would be solid. Does St. Pattys day land on one of the days of the Final 5 again ? Can't get any better than donning the Sioux green on St. Pattys day and cheering on the Sioux.

This isn't really related to "seating" but more about lodging. I'd like to hear any ideas or suggestions about good places to stay near the X that are within walking distance, that might still have rooms available, or places with availability that might have a shuttle service of some kind set up. I'm the biggest procrastinator in the world and leave it to me to start looking for rooms a month before the F5.

I'm looking for 3 tix for Fridays game in Bemidji. Does anyone know if there are usually people trying to dump tickets at the gate or not ? Still thinking of going up there without tickets and hoping for the best, but a little nervous about the low number of seats and how hot this ticket is for Beaver fans.

I think the fact that NDSU and UND don't play anymore, has nothing to do with the 2 institutions just not liking each other. My feelings towards most Sioux athletics and their football team in particular will always remain the same wether they line up against the Bison on the field or not. If Sioux fans think Bison fans are jealous of something, they're sorely mistaken, at least from my perspective. I could'nt be more thrilled with what is going on down here in Fargo and am excited of what's to come. If people are asking themselves why is a Bison fan posting here, it's because I'm a North Dakota kid who loves hockey, and am going to root for the best college hockey program in the country, the UND Sioux. I'm not afraid to admit that and frankly I don't know why Bison fans would say otherwise, because it's true. Frankly I'd love to see NDSU get hockey, so I would'nt have to root for the Sioux in anything, but they don't, so what am I gonna do ? I'm not cheering for the Goofies or the Dogs or Mavs or any Minny team at all. I know I've posted similar stuff in the past but I got to reading this thread and figured I'd give my two cents from a Bison fans perspective. As far as the Bison and Sioux playing this year and what the outcome would be. I think it would be just like any other Bison Sioux game, where everything that has happened up to that point, on paper, record wise, the favorite going in, etc. etc. would be thrown out the window. It would be an awesome game and a dogfight for sure. And as far as the Sioux Suck chants and what not, Bison fans have to keep practicing and stay sharp for the rivalry which will be renewed real soon. I wouldn't expect anything else from Sioux fans and I almost expect it. It's a lifelong hatred (strong word maybe) and that's what makes it so special and I'm glad I'm a part of it.

Well considering the Bison play @ Minnesota and are very likely going to get smoked, I doubt any of us Bison fans are going to be saying much in regards to your loss to UNI. Besides, I'm not a smack talker anyway. The only reason I'm here is because I love hockey and the Bison don't have it yet.

This will be my 4th consecutive F5. But this will be the first year going without any tickets. I'm really hoping to get some S.R.O. tickets and then maybe find a couple of empties to sit in. Does anyone know which games are sold out, if any ? I'm assuming the Fri. night game will be, and barring a upset in that one, the championship game is going to be sold out for sure. Because Wisco/Sioux vs Goofers is looking real nice. We're staying at the Four Points Sheraton in Roseville on Fri and Sat nights. Any other Sioux fans staying there ? Well, looking forward to this weekend bigtime. Definitely one of my favorite weekends of the year. GO SIOUX !!!!!

I think the Moorhead @ Grand Rapids game will be televised on the 16th of this month. Not sure on the time. And yeah, good game last night.
