  1. Hey, it is getting a little too personal in here, the name calling is certainly not necessary.
  2. Is it true that Studsrud is out long term? I do not think there is a QB controversy. Apparently this was the second week in a row that the game ends on a bomb on 4th and short....
  3. Depth is certainly an issue right now. But this loss to me is way worse than the one to ISU. ISU was a horrible matchup for our defense. Even with the injuries we have, we should be able to put away a team like Weber St, especially with a 14 point lead in the 2nd half. Not saying Weber is a ad team, but what they want to do plays to our strengths. I haven seen a whole lot of mental fortitude in the last two weeks.
  4. sadly this is spot on. A promising start thrown in to the trash, and at an inopportune time as well.
  5. So I take it that Weber St and Eversport are just giving up on this broadcast? Nice service.........
  6. Well that was a terrible possession
  7. Studsrud is out. Sounds like Reyes is too. Weather may be a factor.
  8. PSU ran for 465 yards against Montana St
  9. I'm pretty sure they will always be a Top 10-20 team. This loss might put them in a precarious position though as far as having home field throughout the playoffs.
  10. Bobcat defense is terrible. 28-14 PSU. 2 qtr
  11. Not much defense being played in Portland right now. 21-14 PSU leads MSU at start of 2nd qtr. Game is on Root....
  12. I'm not surprised. We were horrible last year. The results of the EuroTrip were nice and I hear a lot of hype about some of the additions, but until I see them play a few games, I'm not overly optimistic.
  13. My point was that I simply didn't like the decision to throw that pass on 4th and 6 with a minute to play. Whether or not the OC told the QB that was to be his first option or whether it was Bartles' decision, I don't think any of us will ever know. My own personal opinion is that given the conservative nature of our OC, I don't think it's likely he orders up a home run ball in that situation. I don't think I'm throwing anyone under the bus. Bartles is very capable, but I don't like how that play unfolded, and he was a big part of it. In the long run it is probably not an issue if Studsrud doesn't throw a horrible pick to start the game and Santiago doesn't fumble it away for the 5th time in 6 games.
  14. Honestly, I don't feel we have lost any games thus far due to QB play, and I don't think we've won any games thus far due to QB play. My preference is for Studsrud because I feel he is a great leader and is more dynamic and is a better athlete than Bartles or Mollberg. I think UND can excel with any of those three taking snaps, given the offense that Rudolph and Bubba seem to want to run. Studsrud needs to correct the fact that he "stares down" his receivers. But that last heave-ho throw that Bartles made toward Santiago to end the game was be-fuddling to me. And that is coming from a Junior that has 4 years invested into the program.
  15. Maybe the web stream is so far behind that the athletic department hasn't heard the outcome of the game yet.............
  16. Montana and MMontana St. could very well Chuck it around nearly as much as ISU did.
  17. Well it was a frustrating loss to say the least. Turnovers on 3 of first 5 possessions is no recipe for success. Could not get any pressure on the QB the entire game, and that was going to be key to helping out the young and unproven secondary. After finally settling down in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and moving the ball successfully, I felt the sidelines sort of deflated when Studsrud went down. You could tell there was plenty of miscommunication when Bartles was in there. Something there really shouldn't be with Junior QB who has played a fair amount of football here. They had a nice drive on his first series, but after that it was 3 straight 3-and-out's. I'm not sure what I think was worse about the final offensive play. The fact that interference wasn't called or the fact that was the play call. Whether it was Bartles' or Rudolph's decision to throw that deep ball, I obviously don't know. But on 4th and 6 and the Bengal 46 with over a minute to play, there should have been several other options than basically a hail mary. That was a low percentage play.
  18. Couldn't crack 10,000 for Potato Bowl, so I'd be surprised if we go over 10,000 for this game. Sad but true.
  19. Jameer Jackson is another guy of Mussman's that was a very good player and it was unfortunate that he left. Not sure why, but he sat out all of last year and has just 9 catches this season for Mankato. He had over 100 receptions in his two seasons here. He would have been a major factor the last two years here.
  20. The most important stat to me is win percentage, and Studsrud's winning percentage is .667.
  21. I have to disagree there as far as the supporting cast goes. Mollberg (and Bartles) were definitely thrown into the fire way too early. But so was Studsrud, and he has handled that exponentially better. In fact I'd say the circumstances surrounding his ascension to the starting job were far more difficult, and he has performed far better. Studsrud has never had anybody named Hardin, Jackson, or Golladay to throw to either. I like the fact that this staff seems to be committed to one QB. Even Dale Lennon could never decide on a QB, and I think that hurt the team, even as great as his teams were. It was always Manke vs Belmore, or Bowenkamp vs Wilson. With Mussman it was Landry/Goska, or Hanson/Hendrickson, or Mollberg/Bartles. When you have two QBs, you really have no QB. The QB is supposed to be the leader of the team. When the coaching staff looks like they can't decide who should lead the team, the rest of the team doesn't really know who to follow.
  22. The Bengals were giving up 217 rush yards per game BEFORE they got routed by Cal Poly yesterday. Poly, with their triple option, racked up 499 rush yards against ISU. I think that bodes well for North Dakota given how they have run it the last two weeks. However, ISU's pass heavy offense could be a challenge.
  23. I like North Dakota in this game. But that really means nothing since I like North Dakota in every game.....................
  24. I was disappointed with the attendance for Drake, considering it was the home opener and Potato Bowl combined, and UND was coming off its first ever FBS win. Too bad we can't replicate that awesome 2008 schedule whent the all time attendance record was set.
