In Regina today and going to my first Riders game. Came up mainly to watch Dressler, but realized we'll get to see Tillman too as they are playing BC. Going to be hanging a Sioux flag in the end zone.

Whoa, careful there. You could risk losing your Bison Rewards Card for saying anything positive about Babich. Obviously the guy couldn't coach, that's why he's spent over a decade in the NFL. Seriously, Babich was twice the coach that Rocky was.

I find it strange that Jones apparently can't work something out with any of the former NCC schools other than NDSU.
-
Yeah it could be done, but not real convenient to try to match up limited Allegiant flights with other "connecting" flights. Then you have to handle your baggage twice as well. I've tried to make this work, and have yet to be successful. Not a ton of flight options either out of SFB or AZA. McCarren is the only place it would be remotely feasible.

Let's stop with the name-calling and personal attacks.

That makes sense, I should have figured that out. Here is a document listing April boardings going back 10 years. Looks like United's service in GFK didn't make much difference. They served the GFK from October of 2012 through December of 2013.
-
So here are the most recent boarding numbers I can find for the state's airports from the month of April 2015: Boardings down at North Dakota airports Fargo: 34,453 Minot: 15,024 Grand Forks: 11,623 Williston: 10,378 Dickinson: 3,849 Bismarck: 2,200 So again I ask, why can GFK only support one airline (other than Allegiant)? The Bismarck number is ridiculous to me as they have Delta, United, American, and Frontier! GFK has the 3rd highest boarding numbers and is the only one of the "major" ND airports that that only has one major carrier serving it. I don't get it. Also, how can the numbers in Bismarck (2nd largest city in the state) be so low?

So did Minot and Dickinson not have two airlines prior to the oil boom?
-
So, I know this is a really old thread. As I said, I know next to nothing about how airlines and airports work, and I only fly once or twice a year. Right now I'm planning a flight to SFO for this fall. How is it that Bismarck, Minot, and even Dickinson for heaven's sake can support more than one airline but GFK cannot? Every article I read seems to indicate that GFK has more boardings than any of those three. I would really prefer to connect in Denver rather than MPLS and avoid the stupid one hour flight to the cities. I live about the same distance from GFK as I do from Hector so it is really no skin off my back either way, I'm just a Grand Forks guy that would prefer to support GFK if possible. But it wouldn't make much sense the way things are looking. I know it doesn't really matter where I change planes, it just breaks up the trip a little nicer to change in Denver for this trip especially with young kids in tow. I just don't see how United (or any other second airline) can profit in Dickinson but not GF.

It is a two way street. There have been nearly as many UND fans "trolling" in this thread as there have been NDSU fans.

Sac St. is one of the Big Sky teams that we will play just once.
-
Will they have some sort of grand opening where the public can come check it out?

Let them............

This seems like a valid topic that shouldn't be shut down. Let's keep it on topic and drop the petty name calling and personal bantering back and forth.

This school needs to seriously look at dropping a couple sports, not adding more.

I hear what you are saying, but Dressler did play for some of UND's best teams ever, and Hardin's accomplishments were made when he was really the only offensive threat on some terrible teams and competing against tougher competition. I think UND's best teams were the Jerry Olson teams of the seventies and I think both guys would start on any of those teams.
-
Hardin was cut last night. Sounds like there is a chance he stays on with practice squad.

I've been wondering about how logo options would work for Sundogs. Thanks for the visual.............................

I just googled Green Hawk. Apparently it is a species of a moth.

I think that is why Mayor Brown brings up light rail every once in a while..........

I'm sensing that the main opposition to Roughriders is coming from those that either grew up in GF or currently live there due to the high school. As a relative outsider, I'm guessing that most "stakeholders" across the state and country aren't concerned about it. As long as North Dakota isn't one of the final 3, I think Roughriders will win in a landslide. It may not be unique to GF, but would be virtually everywhere else.

If Green Hawks wins out would the logo be a Hawk that flew into a can of green paint?
