The outcome of the game not withstanding, I enjoyed the experience. Great atmosphere in the dome, the tailgate was amazing, Bison fans were very friendly everywhere we went. I was pleased with the D for the most part. You just can't have them on the field for that long during a game and expect a positive result. There are still plenty of issues in pass coverage though. The offense has been tough to watch for the last 6 quarters and its no secret it starts with the offensive line. Something needs to get figured out there. Scratched my head at some of the play calling today. Heading into Big Sky play with a 2-1 record. That is exceeding my preseason expectations. I will take it.

How bout parking in the regular lot? Is that going to be an option?

Glad that they updated the PA system too, because that wasn't a very high quality one before. Anybody that's been to volleyball notice a difference with the PA?

I agree they were making much better use of the JumboTrons this year. I like the fireworks, but it seems that they took two steps backward as far as the intro goes.........

My thought On the game itself is obviously NDSU will be the toughest opponent this far. I don't think they will run wild against our D, but their O-Line is way better than any thing we've seen so far and we haven't seen a QB that can run it like Wentz can. I don't think we will be holding this team to less than 50 rush yards like the last two. The key for UND on offense will be the same as it will for every game this year: establishing the run and efficient QB play. And I firmly believe that for UND to be competitive in this game, the defense NEEDS to force NDSU into turning it over. As solid as Bubbas defense has been during his short tenure here, they haven't forced enough turnovers.

Let's keep the personal criticisms out of this forum.

Big Sky not real impressive this week. 0-4 against MVFC. Portland St might b e surprise team of the year, knocking off Idaho St in Pokey.....

Funny thing is, that 11th best Big Sky team is the last team that beat us............

With Georges out for an extended period, I wonder if the team wouldn't be better served moving Santiago back to WR. It looks to me like he is the one guy left active that has "next level" speed that can possibly stretch the field and keep defenses honest......

I'm no uniform rube, but I thought they looked sharp.

I can't argue that the team did little to nothing to keep anybody that is on the fence wanting to stay to see more as the 2nd half progressed. It was indeed brutal. My comment was directed more at the numer of kids that left right after the first half. I'd estimate that at least half left during the halftime. The student section was nice and full to start with, and was nice to see. I was just surprised so many left before the 2nd half even started. The first half was hardly flawless, but it wasn't terrible by any means. The D was great and the O was moving the ball through the air. I guess they maybe just figured it was going to be 42-0 by the end of the game.

4 game win streak baby............ The offensive scheme and the play calling is fine. The problem tonight was the ineptitude of the O-Line, and the fact that the two players that handle the pigskin the most for us treated it like it was a hot potato (that's Potato Bowl humor). Seriously, 7 fumbles? That's ridiculous. Are the balls over-inflated? The defense was great as they have been for the most part since Bubba took over. But they need to force a turnover at some point. Is this team as good as some thought after the Wyoming win? Probably not. Is this team as bad as some think after the Drake win? Probably not. It is probably somewhere in the middle. There is just one game left before Big Sky play starts. Need to re-focus this week and pay attention to what is right in front of us and use the next game to get better. Now, the only thing worse than O-Line play tonight was possibly the student section AGAIN! They were great in the first half but then disappear at half. Come on, it is the home opener. The Potato Bowl. Coming off an FBS win. Things were going good for the most part in the first half. These students today suck. And the Alerus just can't get the intro right can they? I thought it was finally pretty good the last two years where they killed the lights and ran out to Welcome to the Jungle. It was solid. Now they just sort of appear. No build up or nothing. How can the Alerus alwaya be so bad at this small yet exciting detail, while the REA is always so good at it. The new PA guy leaves a lot to be desired too. 4 game win streak baby............. Just win baby.........

Great news about the video boards! Now just need to put in permanent seating in the North end and the Sioux Center will be a first class facility, as if it already isn't. Sorry, couldn't resist. Sometimes I think it is against the Forum Terms & Rules to go more than a few weeks without criticizing UND's ridiculously lavish facilities.

NDSU and Cal Poly are really not bad match ups for this North Dakota team. Not saying I think UND would be favored in either of those games, but I think that at Montana and home against Idaho St. will be the two games that I think could possibly get away from us if any can.

Well, my question was answered yesterday. Bless his heart, but having 30 years in front of a TV camera doesn't necessarily translate behind a radio microphone.

In the last 7 days the Big Sky has beaten two FBS teams and the #1 ranked FCS team. Not a bad start. I Wonder if Craig Bohl thinks the Big Sky is "soft"?

Call me crazy, but I feel like I am the only one that is inerpretting this as an announcement to move NDSU football to FBS within 5 years.

So............ Here's where I am at with the starting QB situation: I've seen enough of Molberg and Bartels that I don't have a problem with Studsrud being number 1 right now. In fact, the depth chart played out just like I thought it would. That's how I'd rank the three guys if I had to, but Studsrud and Bartels would be pretty even. The lack of discussion about the RB situation is more surprising to me. After the criticism that Jake Miller and Jer Garmen endured regarding their small stature for basically all but 4 games of each of their careers, I figured there would be a bit more unrest about another smallish scat back being the top guy going into this year.

So I believe we are about half way through fall camp now correct? Am I off base to expect that a starting QB should be named real quick here, so that whoever it is gets the bulk of the reps with 1's? IMO, it isn't really a great sign that one of the 3 guys apparently hasn't separated themselves from the pack yet.

I'm wondering if any restaraunt can't make it at that location. The growth and shopping attractions are all happening farther south. Unless you really wanted to eat at Dickeys or Mi Mexico or whatever was there, there is really no reason to be in that area unless one lives or works around there I suppose.

The "corny factor" isn't my biggest worry. I just wonder how well he will be at describing the game. A good radio guy doesn't leave you wondering what happened. UND has been pretty spoiled. In the last two decades, they have had arguably two of the most talented football play-by-play voices the region has ever had to offer in Ed Schulz and Jack Michaels. In between those two was Dan Hammer, a guy with tons of TV experience, just like Pat Sweeney, but not a lot of radio time. He never really sounded like he felt at home calling games on the radio. We could have the same situation here. Does anybody remember listening to Pat on the radio in 1992?
