Why? The instances are almost amazingly very few and far between during Jones' tenure where something he's drawn up under pressure during a timeout has yielded a positive result. Better to just let the players run with it in that situation IMO.

As long as Avants is getting the most minutes, doesn't much matter who starts. I am really impressed with that kid. Love his hustle and work ethic. Looks like high basketball IQ guy too. He may be undersized to play the 5, but he makes up for that in so many other ways.

Big Sky Conference eager, anxious for upcoming basketball tournaments

Weber's board is pretty good if you want to talk hoops....

Forgive me if this was posted elsewhere, but Dressler was released by the Roughriders this weekend. Financial reasons. They had a rough season last year going 3-15, and the new coach is overhauling everything it sounds like. Dressler's salary was ~ $250,000. I believe I read somewhere that he was among the highest paid imports (non-Canadian born) in the CFL. Average CFL salary is $50,000 according to CBC. Sounds like Winnipeg is one of the teams already showing interest.

Well I thought they played pretty well throughout. Yes, frustrating that they couldn't close it out at home (similar to NDSU). Cant really pick on anything about Jones from yesterday from what I saw. I'm sure he was disappointed too that they didn't close it out when they should have, so I am not concerned about his expedited trip through the hand shake line. Crowd was great yesterday, very nice atmosphere. This community and school really wants to support a winner. Was hoping they would pull it off and give the fans more incentive to come back in a few weeks. Love the support that Bubba and his team provide. Where does the Big Sky find their officials? They are terrible for he most part. A Montana player grabbed the rim TWICE while we had a shot in the air in the second half and it wasn't called either time. The first time it was Bernstine shooting it but it went in anyways. Still should have been whistle for goaltending. The second one on Crandall's shot was far more egregious and impactful. I that should have been an and 1. I would like to see a list of what the budgets are for every NCAA conference for salaries for officials. My bet is that the Big Sky is dead last. There have been some doozies on the football side as well over the years.....

The ratings numbers for the FCS Title game are pretty impressive to me. I sure would like to see 1 million plus viewers have the opportunity to watch North Dakota football.........

I expect UND to beat the Bobcats at home on Thursday......... Loads of talent on this team. All in all I'm pleased with what I have seen thus far......

I've got two for sale for the SATURDAY game, January 16 against Omaha. Lower bowl, Section 103 Row P. Corner seats at the end that North Dakota shoots at twice. $70 for the pair. I can email them as a PDF, or possibly meet up in Grand Forks the day of the game. Text: 701-797-7021

Would Tom Clifford get the job in today's environment? He was way before my time, I only ask because he seems to be hands down the most popular president in UND history.

Funny you should mention Idaho................. Idaho president: Vandals analyzing FBS, FCS options

North Dakota is 10th in the league in FG%, so lots of opportunities for offensive rebounds. Weber is 1st in the league in FG%. Really impressed with Bernstine's rebounding prowess. He seems to be a nice all around player. Very versatile.

In "Non-UND FCS News", Big Sky champion Southern Utah is in search of a new head coach. Ed Lamb taking assistant job at BYU.
-
Nick Hill hired as head coach at Southern Illinois. He was QB coach and offensive coordinator under Lennon the last two seasons. Former player for Jerry Kill.

Nice effort last night. Plenty of talent on this team. Too bad both of our bigs foul out with over 6 minutes to play. Curious about Hooker sitting out last night, but not the previous game against Valley City. He certainly could have used the extra rest to get ready for conference play, he was visibly in a lot of pain against NDSU. I suppose a loss to Kansas St. is far more tolerable than a loss to Valley City.

Perhaps a permanent el Nino could make baseball viable in North Dakota.

The real question is have FCS football fans wanting to watch on TV ever had to miss half of the opening quarter of a football playoff or title game because of a college lacrosse game? Because this seems to happen every year when I want to watch college hockey on ESPN in April..............
-
Oh, I'm not so sure. Maybe not on the interwebs, but I live in a pretty divided area when it comes to UND/NDSU loyalties. Most every NDSU fan that I know personally has told me we got shafted as far as the playoff selections went. And I attended the game at the Fargodome this year on the dime of and NDSU season ticketholder. Everyone I came across in the dome and at tailgating were pretty welcoming. What happens in cyberspace doesn't always happen in the real world. Still hoping Jacksonville St wins though!!

Hammer was the radio sideline guy for UND football when Shultz was play-by-play guy. He took over play by play for Schultz when he left.
