  1. Have we already beaten Southern Utah and I missed it?
  2. Jones was hired as a DII coach. Purely speculating of course, but my guess is when he was hired, he was likely one of the highest paid coaches in the NCC at the time. His salary raises during his time hear have been commensurate with his successes. Hoops44 seems to think that the athletic department is getting what they are paying for. I'm of the opinion that Jones is earning what he is worth.
  3. MEN'S BASKETBALL: Ready for Reno The Big Sky is reporting attendance of 1,274 for the women's games yesterday. From what I can tell, the Reno Events Center has a capacity of 5,000 for basketball. The Bighorns draw about 2,200 per game. Don't know if the 3,000 seat configuration is used all the time for the Bighorns, or if they did that just for the Big Sky tourney when ticket sales weren't as robust as they'd hoped. Will be interesting to see what kind of crowds Weber and Montana get.
  4. What UND sports fan doesn't love the sound of a goal horn? At Gillette Stadium, New England uses the sound of a fog horn (which sounds an awful lot like a goal horn) to alert the crowd to 3rd and 4th downs. It is a unique touch.
  5. Weber AD not pulling any punches regarding his thoughts on the new tournament format........... Big Sky hopes to build its brand by bringing tournaments to Reno
  6. Kill the lights Run out to Enter Sandman Goal horn or Fog horn on 3rd and 4th down Chelsea Dagger after touchdowns Fireworks Gimmie Some Lovin after the win
  7. UND Twitter account is posting that we play SUU.....
  8. I like Avants alot. One of the best things about him is that when he gets an entry pass down on the block he knows what he's going to do immediately and he moves so fast the defender barely has time to react. Doesn't waste time dribbling or backing his defender down. Doesn't allow for a double team to converge on him.
  9. Looks like we are rooting for the Eags and the Bobcats this weekend........
  10. My guess it is Big Sky TV only. Altitude covered the semis of the Big Sky Tourney up until about 5 yeas ago. You'd think the predetermined site would make it more attractive for an Altitude, Root, or Fox Net to pick up the semis again, but haven't seen anything.
  11. Why? The instances are almost amazingly very few and far between during Jones' tenure where something he's drawn up under pressure during a timeout has yielded a positive result. Better to just let the players run with it in that situation IMO.
  12. As long as Avants is getting the most minutes, doesn't much matter who starts. I am really impressed with that kid. Love his hustle and work ethic. Looks like high basketball IQ guy too. He may be undersized to play the 5, but he makes up for that in so many other ways.
  13. Big Sky Conference eager, anxious for upcoming basketball tournaments
  14. Weber's board is pretty good if you want to talk hoops....
  15. Forgive me if this was posted elsewhere, but Dressler was released by the Roughriders this weekend. Financial reasons. They had a rough season last year going 3-15, and the new coach is overhauling everything it sounds like. Dressler's salary was ~ $250,000. I believe I read somewhere that he was among the highest paid imports (non-Canadian born) in the CFL. Average CFL salary is $50,000 according to CBC. Sounds like Winnipeg is one of the teams already showing interest.
  16. Well I thought they played pretty well throughout. Yes, frustrating that they couldn't close it out at home (similar to NDSU). Cant really pick on anything about Jones from yesterday from what I saw. I'm sure he was disappointed too that they didn't close it out when they should have, so I am not concerned about his expedited trip through the hand shake line. Crowd was great yesterday, very nice atmosphere. This community and school really wants to support a winner. Was hoping they would pull it off and give the fans more incentive to come back in a few weeks. Love the support that Bubba and his team provide. Where does the Big Sky find their officials? They are terrible for he most part. A Montana player grabbed the rim TWICE while we had a shot in the air in the second half and it wasn't called either time. The first time it was Bernstine shooting it but it went in anyways. Still should have been whistle for goaltending. The second one on Crandall's shot was far more egregious and impactful. I that should have been an and 1. I would like to see a list of what the budgets are for every NCAA conference for salaries for officials. My bet is that the Big Sky is dead last. There have been some doozies on the football side as well over the years.....

  18. The ratings numbers for the FCS Title game are pretty impressive to me. I sure would like to see 1 million plus viewers have the opportunity to watch North Dakota football.........
  19. I expect UND to beat the Bobcats at home on Thursday......... Loads of talent on this team. All in all I'm pleased with what I have seen thus far......
  20. I've got two for sale for the SATURDAY game, January 16 against Omaha. Lower bowl, Section 103 Row P. Corner seats at the end that North Dakota shoots at twice. $70 for the pair. I can email them as a PDF, or possibly meet up in Grand Forks the day of the game. Text: 701-797-7021
  21. Would Tom Clifford get the job in today's environment? He was way before my time, I only ask because he seems to be hands down the most popular president in UND history.
  22. Funny you should mention Idaho................. Idaho president: Vandals analyzing FBS, FCS options
  23. North Dakota is 10th in the league in FG%, so lots of opportunities for offensive rebounds. Weber is 1st in the league in FG%. Really impressed with Bernstine's rebounding prowess. He seems to be a nice all around player. Very versatile.
