  1. Yesterday the drunk driver in this case plead guilty. He was sentenced to four years in prison, and the judge said he must serve at least three years and five months before being eligible for parole. --As for our three Rutgers players, they will not be able to get on a football field again, but Thank GOD they are all able to walk. Thank you again North Dakota fans out there for your prayers.
  2. I hope everyone has a blessed Independence Day. While America is not perfect, I hope we all take a moment to thank GOD that we are fortunate to live in such a great country.
  3. I hope you guys are able to keep the bases in North Dakota at current or near current employment levels. Here in the southern part of New Jersey, we are losing two bases which are Fort Monmouth and Lakehurst Naval Air Station. We will lose about 8,000 jobs, not including all the area businesses that depend on their employees. Since there about eight million people in New Jersey and another four million in the Philadelphia area, this will hurt but not be devastating to the area. It certainly will hurt thousands of families, though. I can't imagine how bad this will be for more rural states. I hope everything will work out for the best for everyone affected.
  4. THANK YOU North Dakota players, fans, and coaches!!! You have given this Scarlet Knights fan a great terrific program to root for. Hopefully CSTV and ESPNU will have a lot more games on next year.
  5. I certainly picked a great year to adopt the Fighting Sioux as my college hockey program last Fall. Now that the Frozen Four is here,at least I know all the games will be televised here in New Jersey. Looking forward to more college hockey next season on CSTV and ESPNU. GO SIOUX AND GO RUTGERS SCARLET KNIGHTS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL IN THE ELITE EIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Hope everyone has a blessed Good Friday and Resurrection Day. "For GOD so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." from GOD through John 3:16 Go Sioux!!!
  7. Congrats Fighting Sioux players and fans. I have been able to see about four or five games on tv here in New Jersey. Last night, Fox Sports televised it throughout New Jersey-Philadelphia -New York area. Terrific game!!!
  8. You would think the NCAA would be more concerned about drug and alcohol abuse, steroids, schools with pathetic graduates, and "light" degrees.
  9. GOD BLESS his family and friends.
  10. I have been off the site for most of the past month. How many more wins does North Dakota need to make the NCAA's? Thanks for the info.
  11. Congratulations to the 25 new Fighting Sioux football players. Best of luck in the classroom and on the field.
  12. Hope all of you, your family, and friends has a Blessed Christmas! "So The Lord's promise came true, just as the prophet had said, "A virgin will have a baby boy,and he will be called Immanuel," which means"GOD is with us." from GOD through Matthew 1:22-23
  13. Why in the world are they even playing on Christmas? That being said. no one should have to work on Christmas,Easter,Sundays, etc. if it conflicts with their religious beliefs. If you know anyone that works at one of these restaurants, bars, etc. and their employer is forcing them to work on Christmas, they can contact a religious rights organization that will defend their rights for free. They can be contacted at www.aclj.org. Some jobs, such as hospital workers, firemen, policemen, and others do not fall into this category.
  14. Do I still have my claim as North Dakota's most eastern fan? I am hoping Belarus is closer to Grand Forks by the west than New Jersey is by the east.
  15. Hey Tinytammay, We will see who gets hockey first,Rutgers or North Dakota State. After years of waiting,I finally gave up the wish of Rutgers starting a Division 1 hockey program and started rooting for North Dakota hockey. Almost everyone on the board(I can only think of one exception) has been very welcoming to me. I am sure I have asked, and will in the future, ask Fighting Sioux real obvious questions, but they answer them for me anyway. I have been able to catch a couple games on tv here in New Jersey and hope with cstv and the new espnu starting in March that I will be able to follow the team more closely. One Sioux fan was so great that he sent me a book about North Dakota hockey. On behalf of all the North Dakota Fighting Sioux hockey fans in New Jersey---Welcome!
  16. Congratulations North Dakota players, coaches, and fans. Does anyone know if this weekend's playoff will be on TV? Thanks.
  17. Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. The Newark Star-Ledger, the largest paper in New Jersey, had an article about J.P. Parise on November 23. Thought most of you probably did not see it in North Dakota. www.nj.com/devils/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-1/1101194204103080.xml
  18. Dondre Asberry has been released from the hospital and he and his family are back down in Florida. He hopes to come back to Rutgers in January. The other players lives and careers have also been altered drastically by the drunk driver and his actions. I don't drink myself, but if there is anyone out there who drives drunk, I really hope you will read the following article about the devastation that was caused by the accident. www.nj.com/rutgers/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/1100412052274751.xml On behalf of all Rutgers fans, thanks to you North Dakota fans for your prayers!
  19. Except for North Dakota and North Dakota State, are there any other public universities in the state? As far as all that research money pouring in, I think that is fine as long as the schools remember they are there to give students a well-rounded education in many areas, and they should not become trade/tech schools for industry.--In my mind, that is what company training programs and community colleges are for.
  20. You mean North Dakota has a different size practice rink for games against teams with larger rinks---very cool. Do many other colleges have this type of facility with two rinks? Thanks.
  21. Rutgers football coach Greg Schiano announced last night that Dondre has now been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit to a regular room. He will be unable to return to classes this semester, but it is hoped he will be able to be back in school in January. As far as playing football again, that appears to be up in the air. ---As far as I'm concerned,it doesn't matter if he ever plays another down. I'm just glad that he is alive and that it is expected that he will be able to walk.
  22. Hope that he is in a much better place. GOD BLESS his family.
  23. Hello Sioux rube, I didn't know espn2 was going to televise college hockey. Any North Dakota games scheduled on it?
  24. Good luck Sioux football. Just a thought--if many of the football fans are hunters, why wasn't the game moved to Thursday night or Sunday mid-afternoon. Many states do not allow hunting on Sundays, but I don't know what the law is in North Dakota.
  25. I keep seeing people talk about the main arena and the olympic rink. Which one does the hockey team play in ? Thanks.
