Next up would be the Connecticut Huskies on saturday in East Hartford. They have lost their starting QB and were just upset by Cincinnati who most people regard as the worst football program in the Big East. We have lost three years in a row and a win would not only improve our 4-2 record, but a win in any sport against Louisville or UConn is important because I would have to say those two schools are seen as the best all-around sports programs in the Big East. I think we can win, but they play in a very windy and cold stadium. It is located on old airport runways outside of Hartford. With a win saturday, we would have to have a major collapse the last part of the season not to get to a bowl game. GO SCARLET KNIGHTS! GO FIGHTING SIOUX!

Hello Nodakvindy, Today is our first day of sunshine after eight straight days of rain. The governor declared a state of emergency a few days ago. No deaths that I am aware of, but several towns near the Ramapo and Wanaque rivers and some of the Shore towns around Asbury Park had to be evacuated. I live in Manchester in The Pinelands which is about 15 miles from the ocean and not near any major rivers. The crazy thing about this is that we have only had a few days of light rain since March. Yet another reason why it is very hard being a farmer in New Jersey. Thanks a lot for asking--I hope the 18 inches of snow didn't cause too many problems in North Dakota.

Is North Dakota bouncing back from last Sunday or is Northeastern really bad or is it a combination of both?

Hello Dakotadan, Surprised by the low number of boys teams and the relatively high number of girls teams. Until about fifteen years ago, most of the boys teams here were private schools. About ten years ago, hockey started to explode here in New Jersey. I would have to guess the number of rinks and high school teams has tripled in the last decade for boys. Still only a handful of girls teams. A lot of high schools here have girls teams in a sport,but not one for boys---volleyball,field hockey,gymnastics,fencing.

Any chance of the other goalies coming in since this is turning into a blow-out?

How was his knee injured?

I noticed that the girls are from out of state. Is high school hockey for girls just getting started in most states. Here in New Jersey, I think there are about a half-dozen programs and only one or two are government schools.

One of the nice Fighting Sioux fans on the site sent me last Sunday's paper and I read that North Dakota has the most national wildlife refuges in the country.What is your favorite state park or wildlife refuge in North Dakota?
