NO!!! Yes, but you still need to win the games, Jan. Nice sour grapes piece.

One of the best pieces I have seen written about the nickname issue in a while..... Sioux Everybody! I agree with just about everything written. While the NCAA rule is PC crap and not evenly applied, the NCAA will ultimately win and UND will have to change the name.

South 42nd development gains momentum A number of new hotels built, being built and to be built along 42nd along with possible UND expansion along the corridor.

Troy Huff is predicted Pre-Season Player of the Year
GeauxSioux replied to UNDsportsFANATIC's topic in Men's Basketball
Looking forward to seeing Huff in action this year. Sioux BB is coming back after being absent for a few years. Last year seemed to be a turn-around year. Hopefully the fans will start to come back to see this young team. -
SCSU hockey program leaders, fans hopeful for strong future despite conference changes I once heard that Boston College and Boston U were asked and rejected the offer. Later I heard that wasn't true. So is he talking about?

Meeting rescheduled....... Fighting Sioux nickname meeting with NCAA rescheduled for Aug. 12 So the meeting will be after the new law is in place, but before sanctions begin. Should be interesting.

With all of the technology available today, why can't they have a video conference with the NCAA? it would save money, time and would make scheduling a whole lot easier, I would think. This does not need to continue to drag on.

That was my reason for wondering if perhaps there isn't some movement on the indoor facility. Galbraith is coming from a Big Sky school that he coached for 7 years to come to North Dakota, which isn't really known for a great track/field program. Something is pulling him to North Dakota.
-
And yet another look to the west, Galbraith coming from UNC. New coach brings Division I experience I wonder if this signals the arrival of the long awaited indoor practice/track facility??

Realignment Winners and Losers Guess which group the WCHA lands in?

Someone has has some 'splaining to do. Seriously, this is a black eye for the University. Wrongs need to be made right. The sad part about this is that UND's General Counsel is the one messing this up. You would think it may be possible for a department head to make an error in judgment that needs to be corrected, but this is the bloody head legal person at UND.

Roughnecks isn't bad for the men, but Wildcatters works for both men and women. Roughnecks for the women, ahhh, not so much.
-
This is going to keep growing.. UND needs to keep expanding the petroleum engineering and geologic engineering programs.
-
It has been put forth previously, but when I saw the post by Star2city regarding the oil industry, Wildcatters came back to me. The logo could be an oil derrick with the interlocking ND on it. There are a couple of Wildcatters in Lousiana and Texas, The Lafayette Wildcatters of the SIFL didn't play in 2011 and the Texas Wildcatter of the ECHL ceased operations in 2008. There are no Wildcatters in college.

What if.... No North Dakota would alter sports landscape

Brian Faison became UND's Athletic Director in May 2008. With his leadership the Athletic Department has made great strides. He hired Ashley Hardee and the volleyball program took off. UND now has a contract to televise all of the mens home hockey games, along with some women's hockey, BB and football. UND is joining the Big Sky in 2012. Faison took the lead in the formation of The National, starting in 2013. If he continues with this type of progress, he will likely go down as one of the best ADs UND has ever had. Brian came from the New Mexico State of the WAC. Any long range plans coming thru those connections. Hmmmm?
