  1. The Sioux were actually losing by 7 with 7:56 to play and went on a 23-3 run to end the game. Losing to Crookston would not have been a good way to start the season. I also saw where UND gave up 15 offensive rebounds. I'm sure that is something that they will be working on this week. A win is a win, congrats on the win Sioux!!
  2. I learn something new every day. As you say, why is it now newsworthy??
  3. Newberry players put aside NCAA debate for playoff game
  4. Sitting Bull College president says nickname hurts partnership Sure it's okay if she can go to UND and get her doctorate, but now she chooses to partner with other schools, because of the Fighting Sioux name.

  8. I realize the Massey Ratings are not infallible: but according to the Massey Ratings UND is #1 in Division II overall and number 3 on SOS. Omaha is #1 on SOS, with Mankato #2. All three are pretty tightly grouped. Massey Division II
  9. Newberry dropping their nickname? As Lee Corso would say, "Not so fast my friend". Newberry agrees to change nickname because of improved athletics
  10. This story has been making it's way around the globe. U.S. wind turbine blade company scrambling to hire workers as Danish company expands AU: U.S. wind turbine blade company scrambling to hire workers as Danish company expands If the employment is long term, it would be great for GF.
  11. NCAA won't appeal ruling on North Dakota nickname
  12. Pensacola is hosting the 2006 Division II National Sports Festival this weekend. Just to thumb my nose at the pinheads of the NCAA, I'll be attending some of the events wearing one of my favorite Sioux sweatshirts. Green sweatshirt with the word SIOUX in 6-inch letters.
  13. Those fighting Sioux nickname lose sight of most Indian views Someone from the media actually interviewing Sioux people. Wonderful.
  14. Voting Opens for Pirates Hall of Fame Presented by UnumProvident Someone from back in my college days. Good luck Chris.
  15. Another McMurry story. McMurry gives up nickname but not pride in its Indian ties
  16. I know this is probably not a new thought, but I'm too lazy to read through 8 pages of this thread. Is there any chance that Mr. LaPointe was going to get thrown out of school for his SS.com exploits and was given the opportunity to quit first?
  17. A move toward the Fair Tax would go a long way toward accomplishing that. Lobbyists would lose their influence to shape the tax code.
  18. If the Big Sky is such a bad proposition, why was NDSU trying desperately to be invited to join?
  19. You're right. Additionally there are some pretty high profile schools involved in the competition.
  20. UA Hosts Challenge to beThe Most Ethical in Business
  21. A wise man once asked "What are the long-term goals and strategies of the various conferences ...?" Would you rather have a school for 3-4 years that does fit for the autobid or get a solid stable school that doesn't qualify at the present, but would be a future anchor for the conference. Keeping in mind of course that you don't presently need to have them qualify and you are just protecting your future.
  22. Please call the Dakota Student. I would love to hear how they respond. Good luck, Sioux-cia.
  23. Sounds like the twins are catching some eyes. Ruggiero, Team USA are shaping up
  24. Rather than starting a McMurry thread, I'll just drop this one in here. United Methodist agency applauds decision to drop athletic name Even though I'm an FSU fan, who do you think this last part is directed at? And which school gets the waiver?
