  1. Congratulation, JFR, on your win over North Carolina. Big win for the program, I'm sure.
  2. Games against Montana and Montana State will put butts in the seats in BB. The same can't be said for games against Centenary and perhaps to a lesser extent Oral Roberts. Athletic departments run off money. Games against Big Sky teams would attract larger attendance, more $$.
  3. That one has to be painful. A loss to a D III non-scholarship team.
  4. You are correct that NDSU and SDSU would be huge rivals, but they would be regardless of which conference UND is invited to. Look at Florida/Florida State. Different conferences, huge rivalry. I would look to expand upon what UND would already have. I disagree with your perception of Big Sky not being more prestigious. Whether or not they are just known for football or not the conference is well known. The main reason anyone has heard of the Mid-Con is throught the expolits of Valpo in MBB. They are leaving for the Horizon. What does that say for the Mid-Con? Look at the overall stability of the Big Sky over the past 20 years and compare that to the Mid-Con. I am not trying to run the Mid-Con down, I just don't think that it is as highly regarded as the Big Sky.
  5. I think that the general consensus among UND and probably NDSU and SDSU fans is that the Big Sky is a better fit insofar as peer instiutions. I see UND having more in common as an institution with the likes of Montana and Montana state than I do with UMKC or Centenary. I also think that nationally the Big Sky is a more prestigious conference than the Mid-Con as well. Grand Forks on the east border of the state. A border war with the Montana schools would solidify UND's fan base throughout North Dakota and really fuel some rivalries. I don't think you would get the same rivalries in the Mid-Con.

    CWU vs UND

Congratulations to the Sioux footballl team. I was able to listen to the first part of the game, but unfortuanately was called away to a meeting and missed all of the Sioux scoring. Good luck next week against UNI.
  7. Sorry if this was posted elsewhere, but I hadn't seen it. Kind of neat team by team analysis. http://hockeynuts.blogspot.com/2006/08/59-...rth-dakota.html
  8. He's a Cinderella boy. Tears in his eyes, I guess, as he lines up this last shot. He's got about 195 yards left, and he's got a, looks like he's got about an 8 iron.
  9. That's great I'm sure S2C wouldn't mind contributing it to UND's move to Division I.
  10. Thanks, I think I like the second one better. I think I may have found my answer, but I'll keep looking. Sarcastic Font
  11. I understand that "we" don't get a choice in the matter. Just stating the obvious (which my wife says I do far too often) that segregation is too good for him. I wish there a text style for sarcasm that I could use when I'm stating the obvious or some other sarcastic quip.
  12. We don't want that. That would be letting him off too easy. He needs to be subjected to years of torture from the other inmates. On second thought, maybe a public display of torture such as that in Braveheart then place him in prison. Maybe have certain parts of his anatomy removed during the torture. As you can tell this kind of animal brings out the worst in me.
  13. Do you have a breakdown of male/female? How many were wearing UND garb so we can be sure that they really were UND fans?
  14. Congratulations to the Bison. I'm sure that it has taken a lot of hard work to get to this point.
  15. Has your perspective changed over the years on the Mid-Con? I recall you saying the you would rather be independent that be in the Mid-Con. I know point of view can be altered over time. Situations change.
  16. If I were a Bison fan, I wouldn't like how this has been handled. Why not make one announcement and let each of the schools hold their own press conference or have the representatives of each school come to Mid-Con HQ and have one press conference for all? I know that many Bison fans are a little uneasy about the events of the day, but I still think that the Bison will get an invitation, whether they take it or not, who knows. They may have multiple conversations going on with Mid-Con and Big Sky.I know I'll get blasted for that last statement, but so be it.
  17. Not too unhappy. They are the ones saying it.
  18. You're joking right? I could find 10 threads in a matter of minutes over at B'ville where they are either predicting or hoping that North Dakota fails in the jump to DI. As IowaBison has stated in the past they are probably a minority of the overall Bison fans, but to say you don't see any is nuts.
  19. I have the MP3 HCHockeyMix on my desktop at work and had to pull it up this morning. I wasn't fortunate enough to be at the game, but did listen to it that night. The guys who did the mix did a great job. It gives you goosebumps. I love that line.
  20. From a Washington state newspaper. http://www.columbian.com/sports/localNews/...06news54407.cfm
  21. "Sorry for reporting some facts??" You come on here and spew out a number and we are all supposed to agree without questioning?? Additionally, some of us don't believe in scolding our children until we have all the facts. As "Sic" said. details please.
  22. Typical Bison fan fanning the flames with "0" facts. Bad "news" used to include facts, but with today's media it isn't a requirement.
  23. We went to Potato Bowl last year, parade, tailgating and of course the game. Great time!! Won't be able to make the trek north this year.
  24. Division II outlook http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/foo...i-capsule_x.htm It looks as though they think this is our last year in Division II.
  25. For what it is worth, I usually enjoy IowaBison's posts. He is just a misguided in life having been a graduate of NDSU. I agree with Redwing's rant in that I don't post over on Bisonville, as I really don't have much to add to their conversations.
