USD announces jump to Division I. USD confirms it will jump to Division I sports

A couple of months ago on this thread there was a discussion regarding FSSN and it's impact for UND and it's impact in the search for a conference. Posters from both NDSU and SDSU both poo-poo'd it's influence. A couple of months pass and now television is hot topic at both SDSU and possibly NDSU. SDSU on TV The big brass better take a look at this news... Someone at UND had some vision in getting FSSN going. Thanks. Go Sioux !!!!

A former UND AD is in the news. WSU Advancement Announces Major Gifts Director When he came to UND, he said that the Sioux should be playing in a dome. That was after he helped USD get into the Dakota Dome. A man ahead of his time.

Sioux 31 Grand Valley 27. GV has to settle for two FGs, while the Sioux only have to settle for one. Unfortunately, I'll be in Louisiana and won't be able to watch or listen to the game via the internet, so I'll be bothering my parents all afternoon to get scores. Go Sioux !!!

While he is not saying that they dropped UND from their schedule, he seems to be implying that Harvard made a conscious effort not to schedule anyone on the list of 18 schools. Ivy Apologizes for Hosting ‘Fighting Sioux’

I think LeftyZL did a good job of explaining the SOS, but I wanted to throw in my two cents. Nano, if you go to the Massey website that you referenced click on the column for schedule you will see that NDSU had the 19th toughest schedule in Division I-AA, with an overall SOS at 137. The Sicatoka was correct in his assessment that even though NDSU, SDSU and UNC have left the NCC, UND had nearly as tough SOS at 148. In fact, if you look through the SOS, you will see NCC teams at 139, 144, 146, 148, 149 and 155. NDSU has had tougher schedules than this year. I didn't see where either The Sicatoka or LeftyZL were trying to diminish NDSU's performance. It was strictly talk about the schedule strength.

Men are down by 1 at halftime. Sioux had an early lead, Northern took over with strong defense and Sioux came back at the end of the half to cut the 5 point lead down to 1.

I wonder if Josie would also apologize to all of the Irish if Notre Dame was scheduled in Hanover? Since FSU is no longer on the list, would Dartmouth be able to schedule them or Central Michigan without causing pain? I truly wonder if this twit knows what pain really is.

This hasn't been brought up in a couple of weeks, but when is Buning going to pull the plug on Rivard? UND started out the year with 2 wins at RPI, since then the ladies have lost 10 straight, six of which have been shut-outs. Women's Hockey Schedule Is the end near for her??

GeauxSioux replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in Football
Part of his coaching strategy that year was to whine the whole week before the Sugar Bowl that the Seminoles were hitting Wuerffel late, in the regular season game. This planted the seed in everyone's mind including the referees and anything even close got flagged. The Seminoles, as usual, lost one of their key running backs for academic reasons for the bowl game. When Warrick Dunn went down with leg cramps that game was over. -
Would that be the 1992 game against Pittsburg State, which had an attendance of 5200?
-
On the contrary. I think that the Bison had a great year and should be proud. Yes, I'll agree that the 5,073 is embarrassing. When I lived in GF, I never missed a game no matter who the opponent or what the weather was and that was at Memorial. But I also think you are comparing apples and oranges when you are talking about attendance. You are comparing a regular season game to which the students get in free early in the season to a playoff game to which the students would have to pay against a team we had already beaten soundly (49-2). As I said previously in this thread, we may not win a championship this year, but it is apparent that the overall level of competition is sliding. I am off the fence about the move to Division I and am willing to fork over more money to the U to pay for it.
