Do you have a link or some reference to which you can direct us, the ignorant masses, or is this inside information only?

Basketball is not germane to this discussion. The only sport to my knowledge that has minimum attendance requirements is I-A football. If your attendance falls below 15,000 you may be asked to drop from I-A to I-AA. Whether you are DI-AA or D-IA in football you are still Division I in basketball and your slice of the basketball pie would remain the same with the possible exception of the conference you are in. The power conferences obviously are taking more of the pie.

You answered your own question: How does asking questions constitute starting rumors? I agree with Katothr's statements. You go ahead and stand by your statement and stand alone.

Looking at the UND interactive map I find that the Old Ralph is being used for an Environmental Training Institute. I don't remember hearing that before. Is this just a temporary use of the facility? Is this a new program? Being in construction I can see a real need for this type of education. Mold remediation and lead abatement are big businesses. http://www.UND.edu/map/map.html

We are not going I-A, but a number of teams are not reaching the 15,000 attendance requirement for I-A and may have to drop back to I-AA. 6 of these teams are in the MAC. Admittedly these schools are not next door to us, but I wonder what will happen to them if they do need to drop back to I-AA and what will happen to the MAC? Sorry for being unclear, but it was late.

I saw this link over on egriz and thought it may have implications into UND's future hopes for a conference. http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/1%2C1249%2C...92321%2C00.html The following teams did not average 15,000 per game last year. Utah State, New Mexico State and San Jose State from the WAC along with Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Buffalo, Rice, Akron, Temple, Ball State, Louisiana Monroe, Tulane and Bowling Green. If some of these teams did not recover and increase their attendance, what would happen to a conference like the MAC, which includes 6 of the teams listed? Where would these teams go? This along with the split in the Big East that I keep hearing about could have some big implications on conferences.

Did you read my whole post?

Funny in my morbid sense of humor. I think that you find it more sad because it is on your board. If it happens on SiouxSports, I get turned off. Perspective. Anyway, I hope that you are more the norm.

IowaBison, you have to admit there is quite a bit of hatred for the Sioux coming out of Bisonville. One of the reasons that I read Bisonville is that every thread seems to detriorate to a hate UND thread. The thread may start out about restaurants in Fargo and end up how much GF and UND suck. It gets quite comical. SOME EVEN LEAVE THE CAPS ON FOR EMPHASIS ON HOW MUCH THEY HATE UND. You are an anomoly. I do recall reading either on B'ville or AGS where the Bison fans were gleefully predicting a UNI drubbing of UND.

I like the slogan and the Fight on Sioux in the background brings me back to ND, and the player suiting up, but agree that the highlights could have been better. Show a couple of good hits. That would play into the "Force" part of the slogan.

NCAA may ban all post-season play in South Carolina
GeauxSioux replied to mksioux's topic in UND Nickname
Many of the state flags in the south include the remnants of the old confederate flag, such as Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. Does anyone think that Bowl games are going to get banned in Florida? Not a chance, $$$. If the NCAA continues with this course of action, any bets on when the Mississippi Rebels are going to get banned? -
You didn't think that up all by yourself did you? Come on ... who helped you?

How do you display you are a Sioux fan?
GeauxSioux replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in Men's Hockey
I have five sweatshirts, four t-shirts and a couple of polo shirts with either Sioux logos or name and although I don't get to wear it very often living in the South, I did get one of those leather jackets from the Sioux Shop. Saw it and had to have it. My office has one nice picture of the Ralph, a Sioux penant and mouse pad. I also have Sioux Illustrated scattered throughout, including the "reading room". -
With all of the seniors graduating from last year's team, the Sioux will be young. http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/s...ta/15221934.htm

Can't help you on the logic on that one. I'm an innocent bystander who enjoys reading about the speculcation. Good luck on your Mid-Con visit.

I can't answer you on how Fullerton thinks, but there is a bit of a difference between Seattle and Denver. U of Washington is located in Seattle and to my knowledge is the only D-I school there. They totally dominate the media in coverage. I know this because I once lived there. The Denver media market is different. U of Colorado is less than 30 miles away. Colordado State is about 65 miles away. U of Denver is right there in the metro. They all take a piece of the pie. Denver does not have the dominant school in the market. Perhaps that leaves an opening in Seattle for another school to get some press, but from what I saw it all revolved around U Dub in Seattle.

I agree that Western Washington could be a good travel partner for UBC, but I don't see how that gives them the Seattle market. U of Washington has the Seattle market. I don't think a smaller school 90 miles away is going to encroach upon their hold on that market.

For those of us who are fortunate enough to GF very often, links this are nice for checking on what is going on in GF http://www.canadinns.com/photogallery/gall...p?gallery_id=20 Construction looks like it is moving along nicely.

I would say that many of the Sun Belt, MAC and WAC belong in I-AA or whatever it is to be called. They are the teams near the bottom of attendance in 2005. Some not averaging the magic 15,000. http://www.ncaa.org/stats/football/attenda..._attendance.pdf What really suprised me is that Duke averages less than 18,000.

McMurry University's appeal was also rejected this week. Legal action is being discussed. http://mooresportsreport.blogspot.com/2006/08/msr-alert.html

I think Kupchella would have a very tough time to say we are going to stay DII. I do believe that that there are a few Bison fans, not saying that you are one of them, that don't want UND to be Division I.
