  1. I agree students should learn the songs, but UND really doesn't put much effort toward teaching the songs at all it seems. I learned it on my own. Not from UND or from other students. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but I always assumed that schools actively tried to teach the school song to it's students. Why don't other people sing along though either? Sure the students don't do a very good job of it, but I'm pretty sure "Stand up and Cheer" doesn't offend even the grumpiest of the old fogies. So you guys should be doing your part too! Singing the beer song about six times in a row at the top of your lungs at the old Ralph cause the Sioux made another 3rd period comeback against the Goofers, totally great.
  2. Maybe he was figuring the price of the arena in Loonies!
  3. We didn't ask for the leather seats though. I still think they should have just moved the benches over from the old arena for the student section. Woulda saved them a bit on money and I really don't care what my chair is at a hockey game. I'm not there because I don't want my butt to get sore when I am sitting down. As long as it doesn't injure me, I don't really care. I got to put those stupid little flyers in all the cupholders this weekend. And let me say that a vast majority of the missing cupholders weren't in the student section. Shame on you people for stealing and breaking cupholders!
  4. I forgot about those things they were supposed to do. You are right, The Ralph should be on top of things like that. That is a very easy thing to do, it can't take much time to program that in especially compared to some of the other things they do. They probably couldn't find room to fit "Fight on Sioux" and "Stand up and Cheer" due to all those dopey commercials though.
  5. Heck yeah. Don't forget when you fell down the stairs at the old Ralphy. That was freaking hillarious. Then again you probably don't remember it. I have never killed another insect at a hockey game since that unfortunate incident. You still holding onto that couch cushion from Nate's couch? I'm too poor to go to the X.
  6. The meeting part way thing could have happened last year when we had all those meetings about what to do. The problem was that no one besides students showed up. When people want change but are unwilling to show up to discuss how to change, it is very frustrating. As our beloved current student body president brought up last year, you can physically make more noise from a standing position than from a sitting postion. More seriously though we were told we can stand up in "important situations". This whole weekend was an important situation, especially the OT's. I stood up the entire weekend because I have never been into a game as much as I was on Saturday and Sunday. Those doorknobs who are on their cellphones and read their textbooks should be whacked upside the head. They are no better then the hand sitters. In fact they are worse. At least the hand sitters don't pretend to care.
  7. It used to be terrible to say "who's he, he sucks". That had to make some people lose respect for the students 20 years ago. Now it rather acceptable to most people to say this. Saying sh*t though is unacceptable to many people. No matter what, students are always going to do and say things that are unacceptable to others. If everyone always got along and agreed, it would be terrible! On one hand the students think the cheers are fine so they often figure why change them? Non-students are the ones that don't like the cheers. Why should students think up cheers so these other people who don't cheer anyways will be happy? On the other hand, if the students want the other people to cheer along, not swearing would defineatley help. The problem is that it seems many times when the students do things that don't involve swearing, there doesn't seem to be much of a response. So if nobody is gonna cheer along whether the students swear or not, why bother trying? This weekend seemed like a nice exception though as everybody was into the games and like I said I don't think we did nearly as much swearing cheers.
  8. I'm not gonna argue about the whole swearing thing again, cause it is pointless. However I felt that the students were much more postive, with much less swearing then usual this weekend. Other than yelling at Shepard for his strange interpretations of hockey and yelling at Dora the Explorer, there wasn't too much swearing. Especially last night in the 3rd and overtime. I don't remember one cheer that contained swearing in OT. If it weren't for the students, swearing or not, it wouldn't have been close to as loud this weekend. The students are who often started up and kept it loud. We were missing about half the normal students and we were still able to be just as loud. I'll give other people credit though, it was great this weekend on Saturday and Sunday because almost everybody was into the game. It'd be nice if it could always be that crazy.
  9. Better not let Chris!!!! get ahold of this info or he'll be penciled into the 2016 BC lineup.
  10. Brandt had a better save %, lower GAA and more shutouts than Berkhoel and Dubielwicz in WCHA games this year. So maybe we shouldn't have been so worried about goaltending coming into the series.
  11. Who was gonna tell Commie he had to cut the clown hair? I sure wouldn't want to have to do that.
  12. Denver is out of it as they've played all their games and are behind the Bulldogs. I think Duluth wins it with St. Cloud as they win the goal differential in games against the Huskies. So I think Duluth has already clinched home ice. St. Cloud wins over Denver because they have more conference wins. So in UND wins tonight they play Denver, if Duluth ends up passing UND , the SIoux play SCSU. I'm sure I'm totally wrong though.
  13. In my mind he did! Zach stole that one from Andy. Sure you can say it was going wide before Zach tipped it in. You'd be wrong though.
  14. Kilpatrick is impressive. Is he playing for Green Bay next year? Heisenberg's site lists him as playing for Holy Angels/Green Bay.
  15. I'm sorry I said anything. BTW how come no one made fun of me for criticizing the ball and chain's English, while proving my own poor grammar for using excepting rather then accepting?
  16. Honestly, I've met NDSU fans who can spell better then you. Please try to communicate in one of the many generally excepted forms of English.
  17. I'm not gonna be a student next year, so I'm not whining. I'm just saying that it is silly the way things are g done. How come we didn't hear about this at all until this weekend and now it is a done deal? What the heck? The students don't swear nearly as much as they did at the old arena and there are original cheers being created. They don't happen overnight, but they are happening. The go back to the woods cheer is great, you could replace the $h*t with another word, crapppy or something, but that might offend some people too. I seldom participate in the swearing cheers anyways, cause they are kinda silly. I don't have a problem with people not jumping in on what the students are doing. If you are loud and seem to care, good for you. The people who annoy me are the ones who don't seem to care. I'm probably one of the causes of the problems of the student section being quiet though. I get so angry and frustrated at games, that many times I'm too mad to cheer. Maybe that is the problem with many of the other people, they are too frustrated to cheer. Someone needs to take a leadership role in the student section and all of the students need to work together. The problem with our sieve cheer is that people do it WAY to fast. You throw in that dopey band drummer and the chant is terrible. The CC sieve cheer was the most annoying thing ever. It is more annoying then the gophers and their stupid Minnesota cheer. It is like the Barbie girl song and it nearly drove me insane by Saturday night. I didn't want CC to score the next weekend against the Gophers because then I would have to listen to that stupid cheer again. I hate it. Therefore it is very effective. We should steal it.

You forgot to put the 1 in front of the 30. Denny has been here forever!

True, we should share the password with our fellow Americans. Xenophobia forever! Though sharing it isn't right. It just seems to me that they should have had a better system to help prevent non ticket holders from getting tickets. Just having a password doesn't seem like enough to me.
  20. Oh that's a brilliant move. Let's put the students where the opposing goalie is only once. I was all for moving the students behind the net UND shoots at twice. This however is just stupid. This will also break up the student section. Even though upper level people were never loud anyways, this isn't going to help matters any. It will never be the same because many people don't want it that way. They don't want it loud and crazy, because that means they might have their precious beer knocked over or something. Very frustrating.
  21. The problem with the student section started when they told us all that stuff last year that we could and could not do. It ended up seperating the students into 2 factions. Now instead of having a united section with united students, you have two different sections that don't work together very well. Hopefully next year when they are down in the corner, they will become united again. What's the story with that any ways? What sections are the students gonna have? 106 and 107? 110 and 111? And no one knows the good cheers! I try teaching people, but no one is interested.

There doesn't seem to be much of a safe guard to making sure only season ticket holders can get tickets for today and tommorow. Unless they are doing something we don't know about, it would seem pretty simple to me for someone who isn't a season ticket holderto be able to order tickets.

The ordering of tickets truely was a first come first serve process right? And there aren't any people who like horded seats only to sell later I hope. I'm gonna be really annoyed when I get "cruddy" seats even though I placed my order at 10:10. Anyone know why section 108 and 109 weren't available?

Denver and the Goofs did tie. Now UND has to pull their heads out of their butts and pretty much sweep this weekend.
  25. Jared should come next year when UAA comes. Then him and Fournier can have an eating contest for some of the intermission entertainment.
