While Minnesota may stink, Goldy rules. He and Big Red, the thing from Westerm Kentucky, are the two coolest mascots in the country.

This is what UND gets for hiring the wrong guy this summer. They could've had me, but they didn't think I was "qualified" for the job. I hope they learned their lesson.

Students really don't want that much other than to feel appreciated and listened to. What students want is for REA to make an attempt at creating atmosphere. Let the band play, put the lyrics to the school song on the scoreboard, somehow encourage people to do the sieve cheer and most importantly listen to the students because incredibly they actually have some good ideas. Students would be happy to help with this as we did the first year. REA seemed to have the attitude that it was too much work though, so they just abandoned it. One example of the students being ignored is that it took REA two years to put gates up to stop the moron students at the back of the line from pushing. Now it isn't REA's fault that these students are stupid and should be smacked upside the head, but it is REA's fault that they didn't take any action against the pushing and shoving until it got totally out of control and people got hurt at the Wisconsin series two years ago. We told them time and again to put up gates and they always told us ok yeah good idea, but they never followed through on it. When they finally do follow through, it works and since then there have been much fewer problems. And Sica, we know who that letter was mainly addressed to. Let's not kid ourselves.

The whole problem from the students point of view is that they have done the things requested of them before and they got absolutely nothing in return. They have effectively been told to sit down and shut up. They ask for some things, but don't recieve them. They have seats that were theirs at the beginning before the arena opened taken away. Put all these things together and students get ticked off, much like people around the students get ticked off when they can't see the game. For about two years the students respected the wishes of others and did what was asked of them. The only thing they got out of it was that letter for the Minnesota series last year telling them to be good. Never have the students gotten a letter that has said "Hey you're doing a helluva job and we think you are the best students in the country" that did include a but........ Whether it is true or not, students don't feel appreciated. Everyone wasnts to solve the problems that people around the students have, but no one even seems willing to listen to the problems the students have with the situation. When other's complain it's justifiable, but when students complain they are whining and should appreciate what they have.

What happens if UND, SCSU and GVSU all win next week and UNO loses? Is it possible that UNO could be the NCC champs and not make the playoffs?

Bowencamp completed a TD to Johnson on 3rd down for the SIoux to take the 7-3 lead. Then the Sioux defense stops UNO and gets the ball back.

Yeah well UND should've beat GVSU last year and won the NC. It didn't happen though. Should've, would've, could've. If it didn't happen, it shouldn't happend and doesn't matter. UND will beat UNO on saturday and then USD next week.

That would mean they'd actually have had to: a.) come to the game b.) watch the game instead of searching the arena high and low for something to complain about.

Ryan Bakken's story today is what I mean when I say some people just can't have any fun and seemingly only come to games to find something to complain about. I don't think it's been updated online, but the article was about how at the Exhibition game the player intro's showed players without shirts on. At the Minnesota series though, shirts had been added to the players. This was because some people didn't like the players appearing without shirts and expressed this to REA. I'll admit that I didn't want to see naked rotating players on the big screen, but it really wasn't that big of a deal. It seems some people have to be stick in the muds again though and insist on making a mountain out of a mole hill.

On the plus side, we should be able to make lots of signs. UND: Where the men are men and women are the only queens. Truthfully though, who gives a crap? Not many people at UND care about the Homecoming Queen/King and I doubt many people at SCSU give a crap about it either. This is just some silly publicity stunt, just laugh at it's silliness.

See I think they should start kicking people out for not cheering when they obviously should be. I mean we all know the demand for tickets is high, so if you are gonna be a stick in the mud, you get kicked out and your tickets go to someone who will cheer.

That's a good rule. Only one question, how do we get those people to cheer? Students standing and getting some people to cheer are two seperate issues. You are all knowing, right? So give some insight.

Thanks for the tip. I mean, you're right, there is nothing more pitiful then not putting an s on the end of a word and lets not forget about not putting a space between and & total. That was a total digrace on my part. I'm lucky to have passed 3rd grade.

If you want to walk out on a game, which I wouldn't recommend, you are gonna have to some how get the student section completely sold out and then not have any students show for the game. While you would be giving REA some money, it would be no where near as much money as they'd make by selling those seats for ~$25 to the general public, not to mention the concessions that would be lost out on. That will never happen though.

I'm not even gonna argue the standing issue, whatever. I found it quite interesting tonight though that those of us in sections 308 and 309 were allowed to stand while those in 207 and 310 were not. I also find it frustrating that many people won't cheer, ever. The swearing excuse is baloney for many of these people as they can't even be bothered to do the "Let's Go Sioux" cheer. Nor can they be bothered to stand up and clap or anything when the Spirko scored the go ahead goal on friday.

Todd Anderson should be fired. He is just worthless. He couldn't properly officiate a Mite game. He called 6000 penalties on the Sioux, then decided the Gophers were doing too well so he called 1000 penalties on them. He officiated to the scoreboard pretty much the entire game. And Hennan sucked tonight. He couldn't get anyone's name straight. It was quite amazing when Matt Greene supposedly got called for a penalty, yet still managed to be on the PK for an entire minute before Matt Jones took over the penalty.

I'm sure they are too. However, amazingly there are ways to do this without ticking off your entire fanbase.
