I still think those unis are hideous.

So since the students in the 80s did it that makes it alright? Wow, what kind of admission standards does UND have now that students try to pass that as logical or reasonable? The Ralph doesn't need the F bomb or scatological chants to be "finally getting a good atmosphere." I would hope that a few of the 13,000 students at UND could come up with some more clever chants than the 2 that the current student section over uses. If the F*** chant had popped up once or twice over the weekend, I think most people would have been able to look past it. But when it was literally the only thing that the student section could come up with, it became very disappointing. As far as the anti-student, pro "family atmosphere" crowd I can guarantee you that I made more noise and was into the games more than likely half of the students in attendance(I know, I sit 4 seats from the student section.) I was up dancing when the band was playing, chanting "Let's go Sioux" every time someone tried to start it, and didn't sit once during overtime with the Gophers. Yet not once did I use a swear word. Between the athletic department, student body, cheer team, dance team, athletic band, Sioux Crew and the electronical capabilities at the REA, there is no reason that creative and original chants, cheers and dances couldn't be the norm at every Sioux event at the Ralph. There is no reason that the Ralph shouldn't have one of the best atmospheres in college sports without being classless.

Booo! Hisss! We were only coming down to see you. -
WHAT is up with the crowd and ESPECIALLY the students?
dakotadan replied to SiouxMeNow's topic in Football
We can sit and and make up excuses and reasons for the attendance for the last game but the fact of the matter is 7807 is just sad. UND football has a proud history and tradition. There is no reason that the football team at the state's flagship university can't get more people than that to a game. I don't care if it is against the ND School for the Blind. There is plenty of blame to go around from the students, the administration and us as fans. With that being said, let's look at some other attendance figures from this last Saturday: SUU @ Cal Poly: 10,017 WSSU @ UC Davis: 10,289 HOMECOMING UNH @ UMass: 13,108 HOMECOMING USD @ MSU: 13,817 NDSU @ SDSU: 14,188 NWSU @ McNeese: 16,132 SIU @ UNI: 17,190 FA&M @ SCSU: 24,496 EWU @ UM: 25,751 If we could get a base of 10,000 dedicated fans that was at every game, we would be sitting about where we need to with games here and there going up to 12-13,000 in attendance. But I guess I don't see any reason that we shouldn't be able to have 12,000+ at the Al every Saturday either. -
UND women's hockey: Lessons learned Let's hope the ladies continue from the win at UW and take a few points from MSU early in the season.

Consider yourself very lucky that you don't know much about him/her. He posts on numerous sports and newspaper sites. He has some "unique" ideas and tries to pound them down everyone's throats. You don't have to ask him what his opinion is twice! And if you are REALLY looking for some fun, ask him how he feels about UND!

31 - UND 20 - SUNY-Stony Brook That name really just rolls off of the tongue, doesn't it! I think our offense got alot of experience and confidence in the USD game. While this should be a pretty good game, I think the Sioux are really going to put everything together in this game and have their best showing of the season! I just hope alot of people show up to support the team for Potato Bowl! Another 12,000+ crowd would be absolutely amazing. But I think we will be doing good if we get much over 10,000.

White Out Weekend vs USF It's neat to see that they are planning to tie in a football whiteout with the hockey whiteout. It would have been fun to see them selling some sort of "UND Football Whiteout Weekend 2009" Tees at the Alerus during the first two football games that we could have wore to the game. And I haven't seen anything on FightingSioux.com yet. I hope they do some sort of promoting of it at this weekends game. Still nice to see them trying to tie Football and Hockey together some.

I completely agree with Bin. A General College Sports/General Sports forum would be great. Possibly even create more good discussions. I envision it to be mostly about the world of college sports in general with some PRO sports discussions thrown in. It would be fun to have threads on March Madness, Texas vs. TT fb, big Monday Night Football games. Maybe it would get a few more people to brows and participate in more of the forums. And having a place to discuss NCAA basketball Top 25, other conferences' standings, etc. might be a good way for the casual Sioux fan to learn more about the new world of DI. I am one of a growing handful of people who like to closely follow the women's hockey program. I would love to see them get their own forum right under the men's. With the huge hockey fanbase and their hockey knowledge, alot more discussion may begin to happen with the women if they had a place of their own The rest of the individual sports seem like they could continue as is for a while. Maybe look at splitting those as we get closer to the end of the transition. Just some thoughts.

I always loved the fact that UND was willing to work with BSU's hockey program. UND scheduling home-homes with the Beavers has really helped their program in their move to DI. It's nice to see them acknowledge that and ask us to join them for what should be a very memorable, historic day for their program.

Webcast and radio both go down at exactly the same time? There has to be something wrong in the booth that both went out at the same time!
-
Kickoff returned for a TD after it was fumbled!!! 96 yards!!!
-
Sioux D would have had their first goal line stand test. Penalty on SFA bring them back 15 yards to the 17.
-
Sioux D giving up some big yardage plays on this drive already.
-
How did you manage that? It is making me register to watch the game. And the only options it gives me is to buy a 1 game package or a season pass.

Did you click on live events?
