  2. Since the other thread got closed... I figured I would post these here as well. Bismarck Tribune: Delta Airlines to expand service in ND [url=http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/151093/publisher_id/40/]GFH OUR OPINION: GFK
  3. Jocelyn scored a goal with :21 to go in the 2nd. It was an amazing goal that will end up on some highlight reels. We will have to see if we can't find a clip of it.
  4. Team USA opens their Olympic games today at 2p.m. Central by taking on China on the USA network. Previous finishes by the US team: 1998: Gold 2002: Silver 2006: Bronze
  5. After their big scoring output against OSU and Friday night's 2-0 win, the ladies were unable to get anything on the scoreboard and lost 1-0. Bemidji scored with just :20 left in the 3rd to win the game. Another one of those bad breaks where the ladies just can't get any luck to go their way.
  6. Overall Record: 8-13 Great West Record: 4-1 Last Action: 75-53 Win over Houston Baptist Overall Record: 10-15 Great West Record: 5-3 Last Action: 49-73 Loss to South Dakota
  7. The ladies shut out BSU last night to win 2-0. Bemidji has really been the surprise team this year with as well as they have done and where they have sat in the standings most of the year. Hopefully the ladies can come out tonight and complete the sweep.
  8. Overall Record: 5-17 Great West Record: 2-3 Last Action: 57-50 victory over Souther Illinois-Edwardsville Overall Record: 7-19 Great West Record: 2-6 Last Action: 79-74 Loss to South Dakota
  9. So has anyone heard what NJIT, USD and UND are thinking as far as making these games up?
  10. I'm a little late here but I loved having the games at the Ralph. The potential to actually have a DI atmosphere in the Ralph is definitely there. One thing I noticed while sitting at the games is how the upper bowl seemed to disappear. It didn't feel as empty and hollow as many thought it would. If UND gets into the Summit and held the USD, NDSU and SDSU games in the Ralph and got between 5-7,000 in the lower bowl, it would be one heck of an amazing atmosphere. Throw in a game in the Ralph against an occasional name school and UND could really increase it's average attendance. Imagine if UND and NDSU were in the race to win the Summit. Who says a UND/NDSU game couldn't draw 7-10,000. Having games at the Ralph would also help raise the profile of the basketball programs and for lack of a better word "legitimize" them. There is no denying how much the Ralph has helped raise the profile of the hockey program, especially with the casual sports fans in the region. If the Ralph can be used on weekends the hockey team is gone to do the same for the basketball programs, it would be a mistake to not take advantage of that. After all, having a healthy, successful athletic department overall is good for the university and all of its teams. There is also alot of revenue potential for having games in the Ralph. Obviously there are a lot more seats that can be sold to games. You are going to have some people who show up simply because of the atmosphere of the Ralph (compared to the Betty). But putting a good team on the court is also going to have to happen to see a true increase in fans. Along with the increase in fans comes increase in concession sales and at the Sioux Shop. But there is also big revenue potential with the suites. If UND begins to hold X amount of games in the Ralph each year, at suite renewal UND and the Ralph can offer Y amount of suite tickets at $Z to suite owners. If suite owners do not have interest in using the suites during basketball games and choose not to purchase them, then UND and the Ralph can turn around and rent the suites out during the basketball games. There is alot of potential there. And I would imagine that it would help out with recruiting being able to show players the Ralph and telling them they will play a portion of their games there. Also, there is no reason that scheduling shouldn't work. Schools such as Wisconsin, Ohio State, Boston College, Denver, etc. manage to play ALL of their basketball games in their hockey rink. It would just take a bit of cooperation between UND, the WCHA and the Summit. UND needs to begin thinking with a DI mentality and look for ways to grow all of our sports. This is definately one obvious one.
  11. UND and Bemidji State will be having a home/home this weekend with the Friday night game in Bemidji and Saturday in GF. There is also a home double header basketball game Saturday afternoon. So take in all of the activities. Come on out and support the ladies on Senior Night! Don't forget, Fighting Sioux Club members get into women's hockey games for free with their club card! Saturday 2:00 Women's Basketball 4:00 Men's Basketball 7:07 Women's Hockey
  12. No offense, but I will not be giving you my write in vote for the next Governor of NoDak. But with vision like that, I would like to nominate you to be the next president of NDSU.
  13. Shhhhh! The hockey gods are going to strike us all down if you anger them.
  14. I would be really careful about ordering from this site. If you look around it, the site is very poorly designed and the more I looked around it the more features I found that were not actually functioning features. Lots of spelling errors, etc appear on the site also. I tried contacting their customer service yesterday but never heard back from them. It almost seems to be a Phishing website so be careful what information you may give them.
  15. Team (Pts) WCHA Overall 1. Minnesota (40) 17-4-3-3 21-5-4 2. Minnesota Duluth (37) 17-5-2-1 21-7-2 3. Wisconsin (27) 13-10-1-0 16-11-3 4. Bemidji State (26) 8-9-7-3 9-14-7 5. St. Cloud State (25) 9-11-4-3 12-12-6 6. Ohio State (24) 11-11-2-0 14-12-4 7. Minnesota State (14) 3-16-5-3 5-18-5 8. North Dakota (12) 5-17-2-0 6-18-4 I really hate the shootout scoring on the women's side of the WCHA. UND has won 2 more games than MSU yet sits behind them in the standings due to the pointless shootout. OSU has won 2 more games than SCSU yet sits behind them and has won 3 more games than BSU and sits 2 spots behind them. That makes absolutely no sence. Let's take the shootout out and take a look at what the points and standings would be then. 1. Minnesota (37) 17-4-3 21-5-4 2. Minnesota Duluth (36) 17-5-2 21-7-2 3. Wisconsin (27) 13-10-1 16-11-3 4. Ohio State (24) 11-11-2 14-12-4 5. Bemidji State (23) 8-9-7 9-14-7 6. St. Cloud State (22) 9-11-4 12-12-6 7. North Dakota (12) 5-17-2-0 6-18-4 8. Minnesota State (11) 3-16-5 5-18-5 Not earth shattering but it moved the teams around enough to really change who would be going where for the playoffs if they started right now. And I am sure OSU would appreciate to have their home ice instead of going to #3 Wisconsin which they would do if the playoffs were starting right now.
  16. Mitchell hit a big 3 with :37 left to go up by 6. Sioux get a defensive rebound and are fouled. Hit 1. Nice win for the guys!
  17. UND 53 SIUe 50 1:12 Sioux ball. This one is going down to the wire!
  18. Listening to the Radio it doesn't sound like a very pretty game but still a very close game.
  19. UND Hockey: Mirror Images A good read comparing the 2 hockey coaches at UND. I really think Idalski is taking this program in the right direction and will have them competing as one of the top programs in the country on a yearly basis. The ladies have really been competitive this season but just haven't had the breaks to put up more W's. Next year should really be a fun year.
  20. Jordan Slavin scores with 2.7 seconds left!!! UND 7 OSU 2 FINAL! Amazing game ladies! If we had played like this all year we would be one of the top teams in the WCHA.
  21. Another goal by Holly Perkins! UND 6 OSU 2 3rd.
  22. End of 2nd. UND 5 OSU 2 UND will carry 1:21 powerplay over into the 3rd.
