    Road Trips?

The last couple of seasons I have tried to make at least 1 road trip a season. Last year I headed to the UND/USD game. ( ) The year before that I went to the UND/UNO game in Omaha and also made it to St. Cloud for the playoff game. Looking at this year's road schedule the choices are: Central Washington, Northern Iowa, Augustana, Nebraska-Omaha, or St. Cloud State. I've been to both UNO and SCSU, and I don't really plan on driving out to Washington. I have been to Auggie's stadium but never seen a game there. So a group of us are considering driving down for the UNI game. It would be nice to see what our competition will be looking like in a few years and fun making a few new friends at a potential future rival. Are there many others planning on making the trip? Going back to UNO would always be fun and most likely a great game. And I am guessing that there should be a good following of Sioux fans. So I'm just wondering what others are thinking about doing. Anyone know of any big group trips that may be planned? It is always fun to travel with big groups of Sioux fans. Can't wait for the season to begin!!!
  2. Have there not been many discussions on here before about Fullerton previously visiting UND, touring our facilities and talking to the administration what it would take to move to DI? I seem to remember a couple threads about Fullerton sightings in the REA. This is an honest question, I didn't just dream this up, did I? And you mean to tell me that you don't think UND has the capabilities to pick up a phone and call UNC or UC Davis also? Or any other DI school for that matter. I'd be very disappointed to find out that the administration hasn't been on the phone non-stop with some of these other schools, including talking to NDSU and SDSU. As far as having a partner, at what point did it become a requirement for schools to move up in pairs? And most people at this point are beginning to believe that USD will be making a move shortly behind UND, if not with UND.
  3. I totally agree. Showing that UND has been committed enough to win 7 DI titles over 5 different decades, averaging 11,000 fans, a money making program, having connections to UM and UW along with Mich/Mich St/BC/BU/Maine/etc, and having the Engelstad complex on campus is all going to make getting into the Mid-Con or Big Sky or any other conference that much more difficult. We should really consider dropping hockey to help us in our conference search.

    Lennon & DI

I love how bison fans are saying that NDSU can't play us because it could hurt their playoff chances. Hmmmm, sounds familiar. Funny that it is suddenly considered by bison fans to be a legitimate reason, but when UND used that very same logic to look out for our playoff chances it was rediculous.

    Lennon & DI

So how long do people think it will be before it is announced that UND is in the GWFC? I am guessing this fall just as the FB season, DI fundraising, and classes are all beginning. Maybe a Homecoming announcement?
  6. I sure remember a lot of excitement in Fargo and on the bisonville board when NDSU was talking about adding equestrian. And that is not even a real DI sport. It is still considered an emerging sport along with archery, badminton, rugby, squash, synchronized swimming and team handball. If DI hockey isn't a real sport, what would you consider equestrian?
  7. This is why the business that I work at has a daily subscription to the Fargo Forum (including weekends, even when we are closed on weekends) and refuses to get a subscription to the herald.
  8. So they picked lacrosse over equestrian, hmmmm.
  9. That's the one I was thinking of.
  10. I have been told before that the Metrodome's new turf is built on large interlocking pallets that are hauled in and out with forklifts. Although I am not 100% true if this is exactly true, just what I have been told before.
  11. Can somebody tell me how SDSU didn't make the list of "Hostile and Abusive"? If you ask me, Aztecs are considered Native Americans. And if our logo is so racist and stereo-typical, how is this not? As long as we never take Stanfords lead and end up with something like this, I'll be happy:
  12. That is the first thing I thought of, too. There are much more important things to steal than all of the lenses off of the projectors. Obviously whoever did this had an alterior motive besides just stealing.
  13. So now that the schedule is out, are they going to release ticket prices soon? I have always just went to the games as a member of the Pride of the North or else just used student tickets. I am considering buying a set of season tickets this year for the first time. Just wondering when they are going to release the info about them.
  14. So what about even moving the games back to 2. I know alot of the college kids go out on friday nights. That extra hour might bring a few more of them out. As well as others who have things going on saturday mornings. The games should still be over by 5 to allow people to still do things in the evening.
  15. Silly Bison. Don't they teach Math at NDSU? 34% (Yes) + 30% (Yes, after finding a respectable conference) = 64% (Yes of some form)
  16. If it is all about winning national championships, why don't we look at moving to the NAIA. I bet we could win ALOT of national championships there. Or better yet, how about DIII. That would also solve all the questions about money. I personally don't think that winning NCs is all it is about. I personally would rather see a stronger schedule than UM-C, UMary, SWMSU, etc. Those are not schools we should consider our peers. Besides the women's basketball team's one lose to SCSU, guess what their closest game was: UM-Crookston. Are our teams going to be in the top 25 in all sports in the first year of DI? No, they shouldn't be expected to. However, there are few sports at UND that I don't believe could eventually grow into competative programs at the DI level.
  17. And many of the hockey season ticket holders are also Bison fans in other sports or fans who don't even realize that UND has sports other than hockey.
  18. He was canned by Buning.
  19. That money could renovate Memorial Stadium real nice for soccer, track, and football practice!!! A dome over it would be nice too.
  20. Yes, thanks to everyone involed with this site. It's the only reason I get out of bed in the morning! haha
  21. or the Alerus Center.
