So UND's 2001 team won a NC. Explain to me again why we wouldn't want this years team to be living up to that same level?

Have you ever read bisonville? Or talked to a bison fan? Somehow no matter what is being discussed, they turn in into a UND/NDSU comparison. Obviously that's not true or you wouldn't be here. Thanks for proving the point.

I don't want to get this thread too off track, but hasn't Buning mentioned before that it would be a good idea both financially and PR wise to eventually only offer athletic tuition waivers to players who are originally from NoDak? Or did I just dream this up? It seems like a good idea to me.

While I view this season as another "growing" season, I still have faith in the program. This is only it's 5th season. We can't expect them to already have 7 banners hanging. All it takes is 1 or 2 good seasons (I would consider that a winning season), land a couple impact recruits, and this team could be nationally competative. The best way that we as fans can help the team achieve this is to show up to games and show our support.

Great reads. I just read through all of those articles. I wasn't the big college sports nut when all of this happened that I am now. So it was interesting to read how all of this happened. It'll definately be interesting to watch and see what happens to the NCC in 2 years. And how will it affect the NSIC and DAC?

Check out this link! I have always believed that NDSU made the right move. And have always been congratulatory to NDSU's success since moving up. I believe that UND is making the right move at the right time. Each administration is expected to do what's best for it's university at the time that's best for it's university. However, I am still not worried about the Forum's coverage of UND sports, including FB. NDSU had a big win today, I would expect it to be the top story in the sports section. I would be very suprised if it wasn't the top story on the front page. Yet, UND hockey still gets great coverage in the forum. UND FB might not get as much coverage in the Forum as NDSU FB, but UND hockey is right up there. Like it or not, there are alot of people from Fargo that follow UND. And the Forum knows it.

I sure hope you're right on this one!!! And NDSU's teams sure seem to be making it easier for their administration to fundraise.

Wow. I must say this suprised me. Big win for the Bison. UND isn't the only undefeated team in North Dakota.

And the quietest. HAHAHA. That is a classic statement. Can we archive that somehow? I am sure that we would all be willing to give up the FSSN broadcasting dozens of games into millions of homes across the country if it meant that McFeely would be writting more articles about Sioux athletics in the Fargo Forum.
