The only thing that made me pick DU over UNO is Sam Brittain. When he finds his groove he can put them on his back and he's just not getting scored on that evening. UNO is a better team, but I think Denver pulls one out. Any of those 8 teams could end up in Dinkytown. Extremely tense weekend of hockey coming up.

Miami @ SCSU CC @ UND Denver @ UNO Western @ Duluth A good chance for most of these series to go three games. I like UND's first round matchup a lot more than what some other teams are looking at. My predictions: SCSU over Miami in 3. UND over CC in 2. Denver beats UNO in 3. Western beats Duluth in 3.

Miami only a minute away from screwing things up for Denver.

Before, three words got the whole rink going. Lets go Sioux. Now, its so uneasy in that place when that cheer starts that it dies down so quickly and its back to sitting on hands and waiting for something good to happen. Not pinning a loss on a crowd, ever.....But there were times when teams walked into the Ralph and were beaten before warmups.

Miami up 2-1 over, which completely messes up Denver's hopes for home ice.....those pesky pesky Redhawks.

I slept on a sidewalk when it was cold as hell outside REA for two days to get season tickets once. This year my wife and I were at the Miami series, and I couldn't believe the student section was half full upper bowl. I know it was Valentines day, and they were playing a low ranking team in the league.....but that was pathetic. To hear that the students are going to lose seats in the rink should upset me, but it doesn't because they don't fill the section up. And it isn't like this group has had an awful year.

Looks like Denver could sneak in as the last team to get home ice if they win the third period against Miami. That sets up: UND-CC SCSU-Miami Denver-Duluth UNO-Western And of all those matchups, I like UND's the best.

Agreed. LaDue has had a great year, but if you're going to take a penalty there take the man down and live to fight another day. Seemed like he wasn't trying to draw a penalty and did enough to draw one while at the same time letting the guy score. Worst possible thing to happen in that scenario.

Never good to lose to close out the year at home. But count me in the much rather have CC in your barn than Miami. Couldn't find that extra push in the third period that it'll take in the postseason. Everyone is ticked, but a thanks to the seniors on the ice right now. Very classy group.

Sad to say, but the Olympics cost the women a postseason chance. Still glad those girls went and got to enjoy the experience. Hope they get Karvinen back after the prayer they send to the NCAA.

Edina just does a good job of getting teams off their game. Some of those open ice hits they line up are just devastating for an opponent. And usually they score soon after because of the momentum they create. It could be 9-2.

That might be one of the dumbest penalties I've ever seen by a player on a face off. Wow. Explain that one to your coach.

I turn it for a bit when its 1-0 Edina, then before you know it its 3-2 after one. The offense that some of these kids can create for themselves is amazing. And like I already mentioned, some of these kids have some of the best shots I've ever seen for the high school level. I mean, how many bar down goals we've seen this weekend where goaltenders had no opportunities to make saves. And I think overall the goaltending has been pretty good as well.

Classification set by enrollment. If STA wanted to stay in class A and win state championship after state championship they could. Then again, I believe Roseau could play in class A if they wanted to as well.
