Gophers the better team, crappy ice costed Minnesota. But at the same time they knew what they were getting themselves into when they agreed to play this game. Wisconsin would probably like to play all their games on crappy ice.

Sagard is right, even with the ice being halfways decent you'll see a really low scoring game. If Wisconsin could play every game outside on a chippy surface they would. Ohhh.....game is going to pick up. Minnesota power play.

Well the way things currently shake out I'm going to go out on a mini limb and say that UND has home ice just about taken care of with the way Wisconsin is playing and who they have left on their schedule. Splits on the road and a sweep at home=top three finish.

No.....that was up and down hockey. Or it was Minnesota having to dump the puck or take perimeter opportunities, while Wisconsin stacked four guys on the blue line, chipped it out, dumped it in Minnesota's end and had one guy forecheck the zone, while Minnesota broke it out, and dumped the puck again.

If that wasn't a snoozer hockey game for Wisconsin then I don't know what is.... Watch the Maine-BU game and watch the Minnesota-UW game, and tell me what game was a thousand times better. The only time it got interesting was when the gophers were on the power play, and at the end when Wisconsin was forced to forecheck.

Couldn't agree more. These defensive minded hockey games are destroying hockey. I agree its important for hockey teams to be solid defensively, but for the love of god, its okay to forecheck once in a while.....

If anyone tried to watch this game, and the hockey east game (BU-Maine) that was on at the same time it was easy to pick the better hockey game to watch. I know UND will still play Wisconsin, but glad they won't be in the league with them. Boring hockey last night in whats supposed to be a rivalry game for both teams.

I was hoping for a Minnesota win tonight. I still think they win the league, but would've put UND only a point back heading into the dreaded no point bye weekend.
