The top team in the land visits the Ralph. Denver @ UND

So watched the goals that TJ gave up last night. Not a lot he can do on the first three. First one is a first rounder from below the hash marks, second one went off our guy on a screen, third one our d coverage left him out to dry, and the fourth one would've been a great save to his left that he will say he wants back but we left a guy wide open off the wall in d zone coverage. I'm all about getting Hobie in too, but those weren't soft goals. Our d zone was awful, and those are goals on him too. -

I missed the game, was watching Sheyenne play Davies. The Sheyenne QB has a better arm than Simon.....but I've heard we've had him on campus. Hobie time? Full sixty? Passengers? -

That might have been the Adam Berkhoel year(2004?).....maybe it was after that. -
So how effective is the down field passing game going to be?
-
At that point we make no adjustments and just let it happen. Sounds like a winning combination to me.

As sad as I am to read this, its 100 percent true. You've still got some quality kids that have stuck around to play, but the overall quality is going down and trending down. Communities are still producing kids, a few West Fargo kids just committed to D1 universities, but those kids weren't around long enough to play high school hockey.

B....b.....25 year old Canadians????????

They would win this one and then its all the marbles the next weekend on the road. I don't think they are going to win, but they'd play the game of their lives just to stretch us all along another week. Mind over heart: USD 31........Haws 21.

Efff.....make it stop....

So what I have a fear of is the media idiots pushing the "UND CAN STILL GET IN IF WE WIN THESE TWO GAMES!" jargon. Then UND plays well this Saturday and maybe wins (unlikely), then we have the last game "ALL OR NOTHING!" of the season on the road at ISU. Then regardless of the outcome we'll hear "UND was on the edge of getting into the playoffs". Which, maybe they were, but closer to off the edge then actually on it. In reality its another fantastic opportunity for the team to play terribly in a big spot with the season on the line. Some how, some way, they won't just tank these last two games and let this thing pass peacefully. They could lose this Saturday, but get over the hump in Illinois to finish 6-6, and the athletic department would see it as progress on the road.....

St. Peter steps aside as Twins President. Bismarck, ND native made quite the rise to the top. Apparently Falvey takes over his spot, with a new GM. I just request new people making the on field/personnel decisions.

Very well. Played some men's league with him. My dad knew his dad very well.

Makes me feel old. I was playing in Minot maybe his dad's last year coaching the Jays? Graduated 01.

In comes the defending champs, currently in last place in the NCHC I might add, but leading PWR and ranked #1. Don't give me that they haven't played an NCHC game yet, they are in last place okay. A lot of interesting stats to point out with this group. They haven't given up more than two goals in a game, they've given up 13 goals in 10 games, their goalies are both above a 94% save percentage, and below a 1.3 GAA. They've got 13 guys that are going at a half point a game rate, and 6 guys that are over a point per game rate (UND has two if you care). You can argue they haven't played any blue bloods yet, but impressive stats no less. Devine, Harris, King, Thompson, pretty deep up front. Buium could be playing in the NHL in April, and Matt Davis some how came out of nowhere and turned in one of the best goaltending performances the NCAA tournament has ever seen.....and I lived through Alfie Michaud and Maine. Looking at their schedule they haven't played a schedule like North Dakota, but they've still played a Wisconsin and Northeastern, so not exactly the cupcakes of college hockey. I think this series could remind you a lot of the BU series. I don't think they've played a team the likes of North Dakota, so the first period on Friday may catch the pios off guard a bit as it did the BU Terriers and before they knew it, it was 5-0. They are very well coached, and national championship caliber for sure. At the same time, they did get swept once last season while they were playing pretty good hockey by North Dakota at REA in late January. A split is a must. A sweep may help @fightingsioux4life get through his kidney stones.......get swept, he may get more. I'd assume in TJ we trust in the net. Probably the NCHC goaltender of the week. Happy Veterans Day to those who served! And a huge thank you for your service!

I think Minot has the best goalie in the state coming back to them. You could tell how much they think of him when he was able to come back in February from an injury as a Sophomore and take the net from Seniors. I think we are looking at an all GF final this year (shocking I know). Both return at least three of their top 4 scorers, and always reload instead of rebuild. Not sure who outside of a Minot or a West Fargo has a chance to knock them off. Davies lost their best player, South Shanley lost a ton of seniors and has questions in the net, North graduated ten and lost almost 80% of their scoring along with a pretty good goaltender, Sheyenne will have questions in the net as they lost two seniors and their top scorer from a team that struggled to score. Wilbur's way too early top five: 1. Red River 2. Central 3. West Fargo High School 4. Minot 5. Davies/North

Only the Vikings can make a win feel like a loss....man.... Get on the plane, get back to Minnesota.
-
I'd say the East is RR, Central, then WF. The Packers goalie left, then rumor has it he's back. They'll be able to score the puck with Mattern, who just committed to ASU. The west is Minot. Not sure what Morelli is doing.

Something that bugs me a bit is hearing that Simon is now on scholarship. Editor's Note* Love the effort he plays with, love he's a small town kid playing D1, love he worked his way to starting QB as a walk on, love he earned a scholarship and he's getting his education paid for. The little devil on my shoulder says, "Great kid! Good for him! Do you like that these are the skill sets we are handing out our limited D1 scholarships to? He can't throw it down field against a legit defense?" Maybe time to give Jerry some time next week?

I'll offer that time we gave up 38 straight to SDSU at the Alerus and ran a total of 2 plays inside the red zone.

Duluth has gone a little over 3 games without scoring an even strength goal against UND at Amsoil. Official number is 185:16 to be exact. Assist to Bruce Ciskie.
-
Lot of good young players, but this will be a year to grow for Duluth. Probably two years away from playoff contention. Nice to win at REA east. Probably relied on TJ too much.
-
"ND doesn't beat themselves" He didn't watch the Cornell series.

4-1. Kunz.

3:18. Pucks deep, 3rd forward high. EN dogs.

Ciskie did leave Twitter....
