I've got a weird feeling that TJ is in the net this evening. He was okay on Friday at SCSU, but not great by any means, and Bubbs made the "he played really well" comment after the game. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Looks like Davies wrapped up the 4th seed. Means a likely date with Fargo North in the first round in the east. Sheyenne needs a win over DL tomorrow to stay out of the play in game. See which Forsberg shows up.

2024-25 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

So taking a major penalty to cost your team a regulation win won't get you a healthy scratch designation, but messing with a teammates gal and you don't ride the bus. Culture. -
Many interactions with Pat over the years. Always a good guy to talk to.

Thirty plus years of coaching hockey and softball, and now on his way out. Was going to retire next year from teaching and coaching. Rumor mill is already running wild with this one.

Was only a matter of time. Entire team is Shanley kids.

Thats the one I was forgetting. I just looked up where he ended up, and after the USHL he was apparently at Crookston. Those old programs are fantastic. I wish I had kept them over the years. Was Bismarck's only loss to South that season before the championship game?

Was talking about that Demons team with someone the other day. What a wagon. Mike Peluso, Mitch Vig, Justin Theel. Their goaltending just couldn't hold it together that state tournament. That state tournament for them just felt different after they rolled through the regular season. Barely got by Bottineau and Jamestown, fell behind like 6-3 or 6-2 to Minot, rallied back to tie the game, only to watch future UND commit Tom Phillion score twice late to beat them.
-
He made one of the best saves I've ever seen in the third reaching behind him and keeping a puck out of the net after he got left hung out to dry. Glad the Jamestown parents let him know it too. Hoping the Jays make the state tournament. I'm told they'll get Walz back here soon.
-
WF beat Jamestown 6-2. The Jays were doing a good job on Mattern until about the ten minute mark of the second period and things fell apart a bit on them. I thought their young goalie played pretty well given the quality of shots that WF had on them. Mattern had 2 goals and 2 assists.

I'm told @MafiaMan was picking fights the evening of the final five championship game in the crowd at the Civic Center. Hopefully just speculation.

He and Laba were ridiculous at CC last year. A bit foreshadowing for UND last year.

Didn't make the trip. Not hurt. Hope everything is okay with him. Many rumors floating, you never know what is true.

I see Denver passing us at some point obviously, but sights need to be set on staying within reach of Omaha. Our four road games remaining are brutal.... Gotta have 4+ this weekend.

Its February, which means the league race is heating up. UND should've swept SCSU, and CC got 2 points via an OT win against an extremely hot Western Michigan team, without Mbereko in the net. Fun fact, CC's last two wins have come with Carsen Musser in the net, but only I and CC insider @Godsmack knew that. We sit in 4th place at 25 points, they sit at 6th with 21, but they have played two more contests than we have. Both teams currently with goaltending dilemmas. Ours is pretty simple, play Hobie. Mbereko has shown to be more human this year, but as our CC insider pointed out in a different thread, CC needs to get Musser in the net more as Mbereko will likely move on after this year and they like to develop goalies instead of portal them in apparently (weak). I'm a betting man and expect Mbereko on Friday. For sanity purposes, the pairwise will not be mentioned at this time. Just know that the Beaver weekend, even with that nonconference shootout win hurt a little bit. The prediction: CC wins Friday. UND Saturday.

Yes, to scare a bear....err Husky. We can have differing opinions on it, love the duscussion. My former goaltender take on it: Terrible turnover by Boisvert, (maybe pee wee per say) back door pass, and Aucoin was wide open with time. I watched it again and TJ came across with the pass, had really poor depth, and got caught between trying to get up and come out and Aucoin shooting. If he stays calm and stays in a butterfly he's not in too terrible of a spot, but he's not a big guy to begin with and he's too deep in his net. If you asked him he probably tells you he didn't have a great grasp of where Aucoin was after the turnover (a goalie no no), and his initial push across didn't create enough depth so he wanted to make himself bigger. Thus, the old caught in between and as a goalie that's when you get burned and everyone is calling for the other guy. (Me included) I'm happy Hobie had a great game tonight. I hope he doesn't give the net up, was sharp in key moments.

We may need to forgo our trip to Denver....

Weird not seeing Mbereko in the net for CC.

Ladies and gentlemen.....a mostly full 60.....

So TJ next Friday?
-
5-1. Littler. And a big save from Hobie. Who is in the goalie zone now.
-
We are getting into a bit of chip and chase d shell mode. How about we play in their end.

Hedquist settled in.

Is it too much to ask for a national championship banner for their dance team hung in the rafters at the Herb?

If SCSU gets one or two out of this power play look out for the third period. Thus far.....thus far....a good 40 minutes....thus far.
