  1. I'm baffled by Bryson and JT in alternate shot. I would've put Spaun with Scottie in the alternate shot because now the best player in the world isn't playing like himself when you need him to be great against Rahm, who is playing lights out right now.
  2. How does Spaun not make the morning groups? You throw out Thomas and Bryson together? Yikes. Need Patrick Cantlay to step with Xander here.
  3. Three games left in the season. Likely swept in Philly as the Phillies have the outside hope of the top seed depending on how the Reds and Brewers fare. Maybe they win the last one of the season. Offseason may be an interesting one as I see the team cutting further salary. The pitching situation after the rotation will be interesting. Other than Funderburk and Sands I don't know who your late inning guys are now. If you told me that Funderburk or Sands coming back are their best relievers in 2026 I probably would've disagreed with you a few months ago, but that is now the case.
  4. Caleb Heil plays in an NHL game before a college game. Its officially the wild west in collegiate athletics. Good experience for him though. This definitely will become the new norm.
  5. Good for you! I'll look forward to reading your new updates!
  6. Honestly, with the talent that we have at QB, you could have all three QB's on the field as a look for them to have to think about preparing for. Not sure the legality of having three QB's on the field at the same time, but I'd do it if its a legal play. Heck, you could put Simon on the field in the punt team look and on 4th and short sneak it if the look is right or try and draw them off. Maybe too much backyard football there though.
  7. Nice to see the team win and the North Dakota native get a win in his debut. Met Carson a few years back at a Landon's Light charity event in West Fargo. Salt of the earth human being. Whether he wins games or not with the Vikings I'll still have the forever impression that he is a good person. Now we head overseas and see two QBs that combined age is 81 years old.
  8. 17-0 Vikes. Wentz managing the game so far. Missed a throw or two but I'm a viking fan and know you can't be upset when its 17-0.
  9. Gotta see a better team from the start next week. They are where I thought they'd be record wise.
  10. That play won't be good on the film for #27. Oof.
  11. The old QB still can't throw.
  12. I'd anticipate they cover today. Exactly what you'd expect coming off the Montana game. I'm sure it was addressed by the coaching staff that the first half wasn't acceptable, and a very teachable moment. Get the ball and drive it down their throat and go from there. How about a 3TD third quarter here.
  13. @Oxbow6 attendance estimate?
  14. This made me look at average attendance for the FCS schools. Hopefully Schmidt is able to get our football attendance up above our average hockey attendance being that the Alerus holds around 13,000. Love the pub for the hockey side of things obviously, but lets get the Alerus above 12K a game. Used to love the dream triple header weekends of hockey, football, hockey as a student. My liver doesn't miss those weekend.
  15. Just sell the team guys. They are already managed by a binder, that should save on hotel rooms and meal costs going forward if they just don't have a coaching staff either.
  16. His d zone center play is also extremely likable. Not sure what kind of face off % guy he is, but really good with his space management low off the wall. I think he's a kid that jumps into the top six right away when he gets here.
  17. Agreed. WHL or USHL next season for sure. If I was a betting man I'd say 19 year old season, but there is always the possibility if he gets above 6 feet and adds weight.
  18. Grubb is off to a great start on the 18U Prep at Shattuck. Three points in two games as a 16 year old. Excited to see his progress. I think we could see him on Campus as an 18 year old with some growth.
  19. With how bad they were last week and some guys in the protocol it leaves one to wonder what we will see out of them this weekend. Bad o-line play makes even the HOF guys like a Mahomes, or even a Joe Burrows eat their lunch and hit the training table. I anticipate a low scoring ball game on Sunday. Quick passing game from both sides.
  20. A good time for JJ to see game reps on tape and go from there. Only 22 I keep telling myself. I remember watching Josh Allen get his first ever win against us and telling myself he wasn't anything great at all and was lucky he had a good defense. If I'm KOC you've got to lean heavy on the playmakers now. Get the ball to Jefferson early and often. One more week without Addison, and then you can utilize Thielen in the WR3 role instead of WR2. I thought the defense was alright. Two starting LBs hurt and no Harry quite yet.
  21. Breaking news. Wentz to likely start on Sunday against the Bengals.
  22. 100%. Why we try and be so cute at the goal line is ridiculous. Mason, football, run down hill.
  23. Very true. Line play was abysmal.
  24. Ohh my, this feels like we took 5 steps straight back as a frqnchise. JJ has been terrible for 7 of his 8 professional quarters. He's 22.....he's 22.....he's 22. This completes the weekend of all my teams losing. Thank God UND has something called Valpo next weekend....
  25. On to Valpo I guess. A great time to rest anyone that is nicked up a bit, and get some game reps for all. I'm ticked off at a lot this morning, as my Irish lost on a botched extra point as well and a horrendous missed call by the officials that had a direct effect on the game in the last moments of the game. Nonetheless, you can't botch an XP. The easiest point to get on the football field, and ohh so important in the long run.
