The "State of Hockey" was started by the Wild and it is in referrence to the amount of hockey players from youth to the pros that come from the state of Minnesota. As for college I heard a stat that 25% of all college players come from Minnesota, infact eight of UND players are from Minnesota.

Sioux Hab-it, Why don't you answer Bucky's question. Sioux fans ripped on Lucia for handling it internally and now Haxstol does the same thing (which he should). As for apples to oranges comparison, I would say Bina's charge with Obstruction is alittle more serious than what the Gopher players were charged with. The difference between the two incidents (Blarneys and Judy's) is that the Toews, Oshie, Bina incident revolved around individuals where as the Blarney incident revolved around NCAA infractions as well as underage drinking. In both cases the bar owners and the players used poor judgement.

Now, that wasn't so hard was it Sprig

Where did I say it was wrong what Buning did? Like I said I could care less what he did.
-
I don't know if this was directed at me or not but all I did was asked a question about how Sioux fans would react! I could care less about what your AD did at the game.
-
I'm reading just fine, there has been 4-5 responses to the question I asked, most of the responese in the two pages have been directed towards Buning's actions and not towards the question I asked. I noticed you didn't respond to the question either, or did you not read the question?
-
I will pose my question again, since there wasn't alot of replies to it. How would Sioux fans honestly react if it was another schools AD acting the same way? Just curious.
-
To answer your questoin about Maturi not playing UND because of their name is pretty narrow minded. It's a shame that the fans and athletes of each school sports teams (except hockey) will not experience the rivalry that hockey fans do.
-
How would Sioux fans react if the Sioux were playing another school in a sport and the other schools AD or Administrator acted the way Buning did. This question is not intended to be a flame fest but to see how Sioux fans would HONESTLY respond.
-
Your right, since the Gophers are the #1 rival of most teams in the WCHA, most of the fans in the WCHA will enjoy it. Like I said, most Gopher fans are not bothered by it.
-
My lenthy response was describing the incident that happend and you are right I could care less. Is this short enough for you.

Sioux Fans are not the only one that have bought Holy Cross Merchandise. When the Gophers played in Duluth this year their were some Bulldog fans wearing Holy Cross tee shirts. In Mankato this year their were some Maverick fans wearing Holy Cross Shirts. Most Gopher Fans have gotten over the Holy Cross loss, infact while in Mankato a Maverick came up to the group I was with and pointed to his shirt. The Gopher fans started to laugh and the Maverick fan said "Arn't you affended by my shirt" A Gopher fan replied " We could care less what you wear, that was last year this is this year" The Maverick fan walked away in shaking his head because he didn't get a rise out of Gopher fans. Bottom line is if a Sioux fan or any other fan wants to spend their own money on a Holy Cross shirt, who cares, it's their money.

Could you please explain your comment about the Star Tribune being arrogant regarding Gopher Hockey. This newspaper very seldom writes about Gopher Hockey,. They have a writer (Patrick Ruesse) who down right hates the hockey program and will take any cheap shot he can. I wish the Star Tribune would atleast cover hockey like they do for Gopher Basketball, its not even close for coverage. The nice thing about the Grand Forks Herald is they care about UND's hockey program. I do agree that there are Gopher fans that are cocky and arrogant but Every program in the league has there share. When UND fans keep bringing up 7-5 to Gopher fans you can say that is arrogant and cocky. In the end every fan base has there good fans and bad ones.

Goon, That is a pretty strong statement regarding Lucia getting a AR fired. Can you back it up with facts or is this just your opinion because you do not like the Gophers.
-
Redwing, You may not agree with me on this one and that is fine, we simply agree to disagree. This is why people have opinions, some people agree with them and some don't but we still should respect each others opinions. I have posted on this board before and have never disrespected a persons opinion. I may not agree with there opinion but I am not going to start saying there wrong or start calling them names (ex Skippy, Slappy, etc). Its just sad that you get taken to the wood shed if you don't agree with someone statement. Everybody chears for their team but we are College hockey fans first so this shouldn't lead to a verbal attack on someone just because their not a Sioux fan, Gopher fan, etc. Goon has this conspiracy theory that the Gophers get all the brakes, that is his opinion, I don't agree with it but it is his opinion. I'm sure if I stated that the Sioux get all the brakes that he would not agree with me. The one thing I do agree on is that all officials are inconsistent and until this changed we are always going to have a problem with the officials.

Goon, When did I call you a Moron? In your reply you just admitted that Carmen was tapped in the back while going to the net. I don't know if you have even played hockey before but if you are going full speed towards the net and you get "tapped" from behind and you are a couple feet from the net it is nearly impossible to stop or veer away because you are so close to the net. As for being reviewed, you are right it should have been, but Hunt (Official) would have seen that Carmen WAS cross checked (tapped) from behind resulting in him hitting Elliott. As for Wooger complaining to the refs during his coaching days, he was just like any other coach. In fact a friend of mine was a linesmen (now a current official) during the Woog days and he told me Jeff Sauer was the biggest whiner of all the coaches and Woog was no different than the rest. Please, Goon (or since you are calliing me Skippy, I will call you Loser) don't bring up the conspiracy that the Gophers get most of the breaks. The Gophers are penalized just as much as any other team in the league. Against Duluth the Dogs had 5 or 6 more power plays for the weekend than the Gophers. Wooger is right about the officials being questionable, they have been inconsistent for years. You don't have to agree with me or not but this is my opinion Goon, I mean Loser.
-
Thanks triouxper for the compliment, I wouldn't expect anything less from you.,
-
I knew it was a matter of time when Goon would say Elliott was run into by a Gopher player. If you look at the reply (not as a Sioux fan, but as a Hockey fan) it shows that number 10 of the Badgers (not sure of his name) shoved Carmen in the back which resulted in Carmen hitting Elliott. It was clearly shown on the Recap after the game.

I'm responding to the comment you made that if the Gophers did not play the regional at Mariucci that they Would not have made it to the Frozen Four. The key words here are "Would not", nobody knows if they would have made it to the Frozen Four if they had not played at Mariucci that year. Also the heart and Determination comment was questionable considering they let up one goal in six periods that weekend.
-
How do you know they would not have made it out of the regionals if the Gophers had not played at home. According to you the only way the Gophers can play in the Frozen Four is if they play there regionals at home Also, were you at those games? I was there and they did play with plenty of heart, determination and grit. Like Bucky said, they played against the two best Goalies in the nation that weekend.

I'm not saying Kessel is the all-american boy but in the same article (ruesse"s) the Boston GM said Kessel is a good kid although he may be a liitle immature. Columbus may have seen something with Kessel but why did't Kessel drop farther in the Draft (ala Randy Moss) if he is such a disruptive kid. I don't recall any other teams complaining about him. As for the fans knowing better, I know some fans are closer to a hockey program than you may think. I never said it was Skille's fault as I don't know if Kessel is to blame also, I don't know what the situation was. I'm still waiting for your reply on who said he was a cancer in the locker room?
-
Goon, What players on last years Gophers team said Kessel was a cancer in the locker room? I didn't hear any talk all last season that he was a cancer. Now we hear from a Boston reporter who heard it from a Columbus Blue Jacket employee that Kessel was disruptive in the locker room all year even though the Gophers won twenty- seven games with this so called cancer. I do go along with you hoping he comes back to the U because I will take his talent any day of the week.

Thats allright GPL is down, we can still get Gopher Talk on SiouxSports.com because most topics on this board eventually turn into Gopher talk
