  1. Sorry about that Goon, It should be directed towards Sioux7>5.
  2. Goon, The Athletic Director at each WCHA School votes on the Final five schedule and when the Gopher topic comes up it is a vote of 9-1 to have the Gophers play Friday night. Joel Maturi (UofM Athletic Director) is the lone person to vote to have the Gophers play Friday afternoon ,this is from the suggestion of Lucia. The Final Five is a huge cash cow for the entire league where each team shares the profits and they don't want to lose that. If you want the format to change I suggest you email Buning and voice your opinion. I would be curious what his reply is.
  3. Relax AZ, I just asked Siouxguy a question. No harm here.
  4. Siouxguyinstp, Can you please explain all the advantages the Gophers receive compared to other teams.
  5. Minnesota and Wisconsin have a border battle contest every year. Points are awarded to the school who wins a head to head game. This year there was a total of 32 games played between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Wisconsin won 16 games for a total of 445 points and Minnesota won 15 games for a total of 435 ponts and there was one tie. Wisconsin did win the border battle this year but Minnesota won it last year and it wasn't even close.(530-350 points) You are right, the Gophers are not good at anything Gone Wisconsin
  6. If Fargo has no identity, what is Grand Forks identity?
  7. Lucia was not the only person who cleared Tyler to play. He took advise fron many people including: Doctors, psychiatrists, legal staff and Tylers parents who ALL declared Tyler fit to play. To say Lucia disregarded Tylers safety and thus he should be fired is flat out wrong. You are entitled to your opinion but you need to know the facts.
  8. The main reason Sioux fans bought Holy Cross jerseys was to mock Gopher fans this year so if Gopher fans want to buy Boston College jerseys to mock Sioux fans so be it. I don't think it has anything to do with BC being a powerhouse and Holy Cross isn't. It has to do with Gopher fans enjoying Boston College ending the Sioux season again and Holy Cross ending the Gopher season last year.
  9. The Golden Chokers moniker came into play in the early 1990's after Woog brought his team to the Frozen four during his first three years of coaching but he could not win the big one. Hakstol has brought his team to the Frozen Four in his first three years of coaching also, thus the comparison.
  10. To help you out, Chorney did the Jersey Pop last year in a game against the Gophers.

    Booooooo

I guess you weren't at the Ralph last year when Chorney "popped his jersey" after he scored against the Gophers. What Irmen and Wheeler did might not have been classy but they are not the only ones that do it.

    Lucia

Like Siouxguyinsaintpaul said, Dave made the same comments when the Sioux played the Gophers in January. So, I guess Haxstol says stupid comments also. This is nothing more than a physiological ploy that every coach uses.
  13. If you don't know the answer that's fine, don't be a dink about it
  14. I know UND has 7 DI titles, but does anyone know what the title count is between UND and NDSU in sports they competed with each other in ( Football, wrestling, b-ball,ect).
  15. The "State of Hockey" was started by the Wild and it is in referrence to the amount of hockey players from youth to the pros that come from the state of Minnesota. As for college I heard a stat that 25% of all college players come from Minnesota, infact eight of UND players are from Minnesota.
  16. Sioux Hab-it, Why don't you answer Bucky's question. Sioux fans ripped on Lucia for handling it internally and now Haxstol does the same thing (which he should). As for apples to oranges comparison, I would say Bina's charge with Obstruction is alittle more serious than what the Gopher players were charged with. The difference between the two incidents (Blarneys and Judy's) is that the Toews, Oshie, Bina incident revolved around individuals where as the Blarney incident revolved around NCAA infractions as well as underage drinking. In both cases the bar owners and the players used poor judgement.

Where did I say it was wrong what Buning did? Like I said I could care less what he did.

I don't know if this was directed at me or not but all I did was asked a question about how Sioux fans would react! I could care less about what your AD did at the game.

I'm reading just fine, there has been 4-5 responses to the question I asked, most of the responese in the two pages have been directed towards Buning's actions and not towards the question I asked. I noticed you didn't respond to the question either, or did you not read the question?

I will pose my question again, since there wasn't alot of replies to it. How would Sioux fans honestly react if it was another schools AD acting the same way? Just curious.

To answer your questoin about Maturi not playing UND because of their name is pretty narrow minded. It's a shame that the fans and athletes of each school sports teams (except hockey) will not experience the rivalry that hockey fans do.
