Thank You Bacardio, that is exactly what I was talking about. They Recruited Grant lightly, Ryan heavily and even though they recruited Irmen, the Gophers wanted him more.

If being personal friends with the Potulny and Irmen family makes me a jersey chaser I think you have the wrong defintion of a jersey chaser.

When was the last time you talked to Irmen or his dad. I'm not saying he was or was not a jerk in High School but that was five or six years ago. I have talked to Danny many times and he has been great to me. As for his Dad, I have been with him at many home and away games and he has never acted the way you say he did. He may have been a jerk years ago but he certainly is not now.

What do you mean the Sioux passed him over. The Sioux actively recruited him, how is that passing him over. Irmen signed with the Gophers because they wanted him more not because the Sioux passed him over. Way to show some class on your last sentence.

When I see the Potulny family in a few weeks I will ask them again if the Sioux ever recruited their sons. Like I said before, I'm pretty sure they both were recruited by the Sioux.

Lighten up Triouxper, This all started with you calling Irmen dirty and I asked you to back it up and you can't except for the Prpich check. It just means you have one instance to justify him as a dirty player. In that case almost everone in the league is a dirty player based on one instance. I never said he is a saint, he is a emotional player and to me that is not a dirty player just like you don't think Prpich is dirty, he is emotional. Just out of curiousty did you post anything before the Gopher series on Irmen being dirty or do you feel this way after the series. That is an interesting comment about The Potulny's and Irmen not being recruited by the Sioux. Although Grant was lightly recruited by the Sioux, Ryan was heavily recruited by the Sioux. I think most Sioux fans realize that. In the Irmen case he was recruited by the Sioux but according to a Irmen family member Minnesota wanted him more. You can take this what it is worth but it is true.

It is true, but it was a Rock not a brick. It happened when the Potulny's were in the cities for a game. As for the source it came straight from Mrs. Potulny. When Grant committed to Minnesota the Parents received harrasing phone calls as well as verbal confrontations when they were at Grocery stores, malls, etc. Again this is straight from the Potulny's themselves. It has cooled down some but it still happens. Some people just can't relize it is recruiting. You get some players and you don't get some.

I have watched him play(almost every home and away game for three years) and this is the first time I have seen him do the Jersey popping. What he did was wrong and I agree with you but to call him 'Dirty' is questionable. As for Prpich I guess you didn't see his speering on Harrington? I suppose you don't think that is Dirty. Yes, there are idiot Gopher fans that come on this board and gloat and that is wrong, but keep in mind there are Sioux fans that come on the Gopher message board and gloat when they win. Last year at the Frozen Four after the Sioux beat the Gophers, Sioux fans were heckling Gopher fans bad outside the arena.. We just have to face it that ALL programs have their idiots. I agree with you that Irman does get too emotional at times, but to call him a dirty player is a allittle much. He did take a run at Prpich but he did not check him into the boards from behind he was a few feet from the boards. He was charged with "charging" not checking from behind. Most Sioux fans are complaining about the Gopher goal that should have been dissallowed and the Sioux goal that should have been allowed. On the Gopher goal Stoa was in the crease but when Did he interfere with Parise? Under the rule he is allowed to be in the crease maybe the Sioux D-Man should have muscled him out. They didn't seem to have a problem last year with Green pushing Forwards away from the Crease. On the Sioux Dissallowed goal, Sheppard's only camera angle he can view is the one above the goal and at that angle you could not see if it was a goal before the net came off. I agree it would be nice if the refs had all the camera angles the fans have on TV. Also, The Sioux's third goal on Saturday night should never have been scored by Prpich. The reason why Harrington was lying on the ice in the third period was because he was blatently speered by Prpich, right in front of Shepard and a linesman. This type of a penalty is a major and Prpich should have been tossed. Ironically you can say the Sioux got screwed on a no goal and the Gophers got screwed on a goal scored by a player who should not have been on the ice. Yes, Shepard was bad for both teams.

If FSN is not the Home of Gopher Hockey what station is? FSN is the only station that televises their games, they have signage all over the arena, they have a signed contract with the University. WCCO is the radio radio station of the Gophers so I'm curious on why FSN is not the TV station. I agree with you, I wish FSN did some games for Duluth, St. Cloud, Mankato, etc. have these schools looked into it?

Just to clarify, would you have a problem with a third party person being on FSSN. All I'm saying is that Home announcer are for the most part Biased. As for the Hockey1 moniker its just a moniker, nothing intended by it. I'm just giving my opinion. If you don't agree with it so be it. After all it is a Message board.

FSN is the broadcast station for Gopher Hockey, why should they ALWAYS have a rep from the opponents crew if it is their station? The only reason Sagissor is with them for the Wisconsin series is because FSN is also Wisconsin's broadcast station. Their is two FNS channels (one for Minnesota, one for Wisconsin). Does UND have a member of the Opponents broadcast crew when their games are on FSNN? I'm pretty sure they don't. Just like when Denver, CC, Duluth, etc. games are on TV their broadcast crew is from their station. You think Woog and Mazacco(sp) are biased? What a shock. Of course Woog and Mazzacco(sp) are biased, they are no different than any other HOME announcer on tv, radio or arena. Do you ever notice when UND or any other school scores a goal the home announcer has a little extra volume in his voice compared to when an opponent scores. You can called it Biased, Homerism, or whatever you want but that's what you get from a home announcer in a arena or TV.

I don't know when you were there in the early 90's but my source is myself. I was there in the bad years and the arena was half full. In fact the Minnesota games were not even sold out. I'm not ripping on Sioux fans I'm just saying that Sioux fans are no different then other fans when it comes to supporting a team.

Cheesemover, Explain to me why the Old Ralph was half full in the early 90"s when the Sioux were bad. Face it, Sioux fans like all other Sports fans including Gopher fans are fair weather. Fans will be on the bandwagon when they win and off the bandwagon when their bad.

For me personally I donot have a problem with the Sioux nickname however, I am not a sioux indian and obviously some indian cultures as well as some non indian people do have a problem with the nickname. But some sioux fans (not all) do make fun of other schools mascots also. Sioux fans for years wore tee shirts mocking North Dakota States Mascot the Buffalo. The shirt had a Indian killing a Buffalo with an arrow. In Hockey, Sioux fans for years go into the woods and kill Gophers and then throw them on the ice after a goal. When it is laying dead on the ice sioux fans are laughing and cheering. So, why should Bison and Gopher Fans support Sioux fans in this issue.
