    Scott Zelkin

With Chucko's rep as a hard nosed player, I don't think he'd "turn away" from the net rather than charging right to the crease in front of the goalie, but he did make the skate turn to redirect the puck look innocent, anyway. Didn't see the first and second, so had no idea of the scripted calls; sounds NHL like, though. There were a couple or more good scoring chances in the third that were elimated by some strong hooks with the stick up high that weren't called. It would appear it will be tough for players to figure out what they might be able to do, no change from the past, I guess.
  2. Watched the third period of the MN/MSM game last night and Zelkin let the team's play. Lots of wienie hooks and take downs took place, but nothing major, and the non-calls didn't detract from the up and down the ice action. I'd prefer to see the game called this way, but it was a large departure from the way most games have been called up to this point. Does make me wonder if the crack down will slowly disappear, and we'll end up seeing major holding and ride time eventually allowed again.
  3. TROLL ALERT
  4. Saturday night games in the BCHL, Salmon Arm moves to .500 and 4th place (interior division) after beating first place Prince George, 3-2, Duncan 1-1-2. Vernon moved into first (interior division) with a 8-3 win, Watkins 1-0-1 in the game. Surrey wins again and remains in first (mainland division), winning 1-0, Kozek with the loan goal. All three recruits now on the BCHL leading scorers list. Vernon vs Surrey today. Interesting to note that several on the leadings scorer's list have '84 birthdays, and in their last year of juniors. Duncan is an '85, while Kozek and Watkins are '86 (18 year olds).
  5. From the GFH:
  6. Two highly ranked, expected to be in the FF, teams, are really struggling early; the Sioux and Michigan, who were beaten 1-0 in OT by Ferris tonight. And Duluth, lost to and tied Vermont at home. Didn't hear the post game; anything said about Murray's injury?
  7. Agree with you, jk, the Sioux played well tonight. I do share DamStrait's frustration, however, in that it's so easy for the Sioux to be put down 2 men, the big Sioux D is not getting by with anything, and, although they are penalties, opponents have been allowed to do the same things the Sioux have been penalized for, without getting called or being put down 2 men. Guess it goes with the territory of being big.
  8. Tie, Sounds like NE resorted to tackling to keep it tied in OT.
  9. If you're going to fire a coach every time the Sioux trail in a game, better have lots of them available. Sioux played a good game, but got into dmen penalty trouble again in the third. They're getting closer to a complete game.
  10. All NE now; lucky to get out of this with a tie
  11. 6 min.
  12. Dominating
  13. End of one; dominated by the Sioux.
  14. Sioux PP coming up. Good control but few shots.
  15. PLayed a long time with just one penalty. Hard to believe.
  16. Now to avoid the cross check and a 5 on 3.
  17. Missed the pregame Hak interview. Is it Lammy tonight?
  18. Is tonight the night that no dman cross checks someone when the Sioux are short handed. Stlill waiting for the game without 5 on 3's.

    UND vs. UNO

Would seem the Sioux need to return the KO for a TD to have a chance. Not likely the offense can score twice. Not much doubt that UNO is the best of the NCC this year.

    UND vs. UNO

That does seem to be their reoccurring problem this year, missing open receivers.

    UND vs. UNO

UNO sounds like a much better team both sides of the ball. Sioux just do not have a championship caliber offense.

    UND vs. BC

    Gloating in October. I'm impressed.

    UND vs. BC

TH was upset about a Spina cheap shot on Greene late in the game that wasn't called.

    UND vs. BC

Good third period for the Sioux. Hope it carries over to...............the rest of the year.

    UND vs. BC

Big save by JPar, goal by Sioux. Doesn't get better than that. 2 goals and a post for Porter this period.
