Subscription? Meanwhile Heisenberg has put him on the Sioux recruit list, as of yesterday. (guessing that's what the article says). http://members.aol.com/cheisenber/Recruit05.htm With Kessel possibly leaning to the Gophers, it's nice to see Toews going to the Sioux.

Bourque injured, Gretzky coming to WJC

Looks like it is Russia if they beat Sweden. Don't understand why Finland, who finished tied with Slovakia with Slovakia winning the head to head, is seeded third ahead of Slovakia?
-
Looks like it's Saturday night vs. Sweden in the crossover, for the right to play Canada in the semifinals.

The Canadians will be partying in the Alerus tonight, as it's been opened for stranded people. Must be ugly out there.

Code not supported by firefox, maybe it's activex, although I wouldn't recognize it. Good choice with firefox anyway. Assuming you added the ie extension for firefox, that allows opening a link in ie from a right click context menu?

I"ve seen him once live (vs Russia) and TV last night, so mine isn't worth much either. I"d expect him to provide offense for whatever college team gets him, but may, at times, be a defensive liability, kinda Vanek-like

He may well get there, but he often loafed both getting in to forecheck and backchecking against Russia. Very good one on one with the puck, but not at Parise's level of all around player yet.

Today's Herald reports Brandt with a broken collarbone in a snowmobile roll over while ice fishing.

Unreal, P&L becomes an auto addition to my ignored list.

Appears that on the ticket exchange, lots of Canadians are looking for individual games for a day. At $120/night for motel rooms that normally cost in the $40 range, it's no wonder whole package purchasers from out of town are hard to find. I'd expect a price jump at motels for the event, but a 300% increase is a bit much to expect. I'll be there for the Christmas Day games, but staying in GF at those prices is out of the question. Would guess there will be good deals on tickets at the door for most games, considering the lack of bids for less than face value tickets on ebay.

TV broadcast today reported it as a shoulder bruise. Good time for the Sioux to have an extended break.

The Sioux have looked fairly good against the US, but defensive mistakes/turnovers have been quickly turned into goals by the US. THe young forwards are much better snipers than any of the Sioux. Sioux have hit two posts and Bina had Montoya beat but didn't get much on the puck (a rebound) and LIkens got in behind Montoya and made the save. JOnes and Greene have been excellent. Lee looks very comfortable at D, he's very solid one on one and no Sioux has been able to beat him. Suter will now doubt log the most ice time on this team, don't know who the second USA dman will be to go with Suter.

This article discusses complaints from local cafes/bars concerning the REA offering food, and now entertainment, during the WJC. It also reads that 15 cafes will be open on CHristmas DAy, but I"ve been unable to find a link that shows which one's those are. It's unlikely we'll leave the REA to "search" for what's open between games on Christmas DAy. Anyone have any info/a link to what's open?

Although during my college days the late night Red Pepper was rarely, if ever, done sobor, I've since done it often, at various times of day, and the results are even better (than I remember ), during the student days. The garbage plate, is a broken shell with a layer of taco meat, topped with all the lettuce and cheese that falls through the grates used for making tacos and softshells. Top the plate off with as much hot sauce and mayo as you like (wouldn't be the same without it). BTW, mayo is now called white sauce and hot sauce may be red sauce? Guess it's easier for modern students to order in colors rather than content. They won't always serve these (or maybe it's just refused to older looking people who may be undercover health department employees ) Take a grinder "kit" on the road for your trip to Winnipeg. And get ready to get lost and drive in circles in Manitoba's largest, as the city runs conventially (north/south and east/west) when you drive into it, but switches to diagonal, when you get into it (follows the Red River). Make a wrong turn downtown, and you won't find your way around the block back to where you made the turn (Grand Forks is like that also but not nearly as large). Are the hockey games in the arena where the Jets used to play? YOu may want to check out this thread for Italian and ice cream. Sounds good to me. Wonder if either or both will be open on Christmas day (first day of the WJC)?

Like PCM, I'd prefer two threads. Your problem of swapping threads is easily solved with the firefox browser, and opening both threads in "tabs" that this browser supports. Actually I usually have the uscho score updates thread in another tab so I can check out other games. BTW, I'm not anti-microsoft or anti-IE, but the firefox browser is, imo, far superior to ie. The only thing firefox does not support, that I've found, is activex, but you can open those pages, if you must, in IE. Firefox Browser

All three Sioux BCHL recruits have been selected for the BCHL All-Star game.

Three preliminary bouts followed by the main event- a hockey game. All for the price of just a hockey game.

CC is up 4-0 with 4 minutes left in the first. Edit: CC PPG, now 5-0

Shots are 18-4, Griffin goalie is good. TV broadcast mentioned the Wookie signs were down by the glass in pregame. Haven't shown any during the first period, however.

Duncan is the BCHL's "Star Player of the Week".
