Appears the Sioux found a way to stay out of the box defensively; leave at least 10 feet of space between yourself and the opponent you'd really like to check. Doesn't work well. Would guess there was more contact in the women's game.

Wasn't a very fun scroll, was it?

You missed the face rub? Interesting how many have shown up to gloat.

Already have (jackson above). Vanelli, of course, was an innocent bystander.

No kidding. Really makes one question how good (or bad) Maine is. This series looks much like the Mankato games sounded last weekend. Sioux have a long way to go to reach their early ranking (a long way to go to be a top 5 WCHA team).

YOu may want to bitch and whine somewhere else. Had no idea clicking a button in an online poll was so denigrating.
-
Asking one more time, since you are in the know, how do walkons either make the team, or get cut, before there is a coach's practice?
-
Been where? Where is the bitching? Can't find it. THis is a SIoux board. It's easily predictable that the "Sioux sweep" choice would win this meaningless poll. The Sioux team respects the Gophers, and the Gopher team respects the Sioux. If you, personally, are here demanding respect, it ain't gonna happen. What exactly are you bitching and whining about?

Lots of minor crap on both teams, but inconsistent beginning to end. On the Sioux's first PP, one of the Goph dmen put a nasty cross check to McMahon's back in front of the net. Anderson didn't call it. All right with me since I figured that clean out in front of the net would be allowed, and no 2 man down situations. On the next goph PP the Sioux did the same, and were called immediately, then did it 3 or 4 more times (guys don't learn quickly), and were put down 2 men each time. Anderson had several opportunities later in the game to put the Gophs down 2 men but would not do it. Instead, he put the Sioux down 2 again in the third period. If all these calls are going to clean up the game, consistency is a must. The players will adjust. Right now they're adjusting as the game goes along, but they can't have any idea what might be called; or allowed, from one minute to the next. The Sioux's chances were limited 5 on 5 because the outlet passing was poor, and the short passing game through the neutral zone that the Sioux have excelled at was not there. If you can't get down the ice, the forecheck that they threw at Maine is not going to happen, and scoring chances will be limited. The third period was the only time there was an extended time of 5 on 5, and the Sioux continued to throw the puck into the black hole, creating numrous good scoring chances for the Gophs. THe Gophs were not forechecking hard, but still the Sioux continued turning the puck over in terrible places. Sioux are not playing the same game they played the past several years (nor the same game they played at Maine this year).

The people at REA (Chris) emailed that he checked with carriers and the feed is working fine. It's not working on my cable TV (NCC at RAy, ND).

Although true, the calls have to be more consistent. There is no way the players know when they can hook or hold and when they can't. Sioux should be aware that the game will be called by the rules when they are short handed. Not sure MN has to worry about that, Anderson had several obvious penalties to call to put the Gophs down 2, but didn't do it. Sioux 2 men short 4 times. Sioux were outplayed 5 on 5 in the 3rd (not sure if there was any 5 on 5 before the 3rd) until they got the 2 goal lead. Terrible outlet passing and the short passing game through the neutral zone was not there.

Games were at Mankato. Nixon started Friday, Volp Saturday.

Didn't hear what the calls were, just saw the PBox fill up with Sioux. Gophs were already on a 5 on 3, so if at least 2 more Sioux are in, the 2 man short has to last at least 2 more minutes.

Believe the 5 on 3 could go for 4 more minutes plus. Gophs will score a couple before that's over, so it likely won't last that long.
-
Gophs did a nasty cross check on the first Sioux PP, but Anderson chose not to put the gophs down 2 guys; wondered if the Sioux would get the same treatment. Obviously not, as the Sioux tried it, and were put down 2 immediately. Will be interesting to see if Anderson gives the sioux a 5 on 3 later in the game. Totally inconsitant calls; if they aren't going to call it both ways, may as well go back to clutch and grab.

Jan Brady request?

Alert Lucia; turn the busses around. If you came here expecting many to pick the Gophs in a sweep, you came to the wrong board.

Surrey beat Salmon Arm last night, 7-4, Kozek was 1-1-2, Duncan 0-2-2. Duncan now leads the Silverbacks in scoring, Kozek number 3 for the Eagles. Duncan and Kozek are number 15 and 17 among BCHL scoring leaders. Duncan's pic is featured on the front page of the Silverbacks site.

A GCD file? CD Ghost? What media plays a gcd file?
-
Duncan has made it into the BCHL scoring leaders list at number 20 with 17 points in 11 games. Kozek and Watkins also have 17 points, but have fewer goals than Duncan.
-
Zajac should have ended that game before the penalty shot; he chose to pass out front to Stafford rather than shoot the puck into the open net as he came around from behind the goal.

Go to this site if the Sioux feed isn't working, and look for the opponent's feed. Not sure what is going on with the Sioux audio, seems to be a reoccuring problem each season that gets corrected after a few weeks.

Is McMahon not dressed; haven't heard his name yet tonight?
