  1. Perhaps the 2005 NCAA Semifinal vs. Minnesota! The E. Fabian game!
  2. Not sure where he played Major Juniors. Moose Jaw or Regina sticks out. He then went to the Minot Top Guns (SJHL) for a season. I believe he enrolled at UND in the fall of 1996. Under the NCAA rules, once you play Major Junior you have to sit out a year (lose a year of eligibility). Perhaps others can fill in more details.
  3. Appreciate uploading all the late '80s, '90s early 2000s Sioux games from the past.

I remember this period fondly and thanks for allowing me to see these games again. Also, thanks for

putting the 2000 Final Five end-of-tournament video up! I remember  watching it after that game and over the years remembering it in my mind. I knew it was an Reo Speedwagon song! Thanks again!

If you're taking requests. The St. Cloud St. semifinal game from 1998 WCHA Final Five. I remember they lost to Wisconsin in the final that year.

Also, the 2000 NCAA regional vs. Niagara. It was at Mariucci, so always nice to be playing on the Gophers ice when they didn't make the tournament!

Again, thanks for providing a little Green and White in this time of uncertainty!

  4. Nothing like a little adversity to see where you stand. Got get 'em tomorrow boys!
  5. I was returning to Grand Forks from Phoenix in February of 1998. The Sioux and Gophers were playing a Saturday-Sunday afternoon series in Grand Forks. I was waiting to board my connecting flight from Minneapolis to Grand Forks on Friday afternoon when the ticket desk worker called my name and asked if I would be willing to be "bumped up" to first class on the short flight. Sitting in the gate I noticed Dave Spehar and a few other Gophers milling around. I realized the team was going to be on the flight. (No bus trip that weekend). Perhaps they needed more seats together in the back and needed a few passengers to move up to the front of the plane. Anyway, Doug Woog was sitting in first class a few seats up from me and I could hear him making some jokes about having to go to Grand Forks. He was visiting with some parents of players or others associated with the team. As I recall, UND would sweep both games that week, including the dramatic come-from-behind victory on Sunday. Not sure the plane ride home was as joyous. He was proud of Minnesota hockey and was a great ambassador of the WCHA. He will be missed.
  6. Wow! Four times we've scored seven or more in a game and we have yet to see Huntsville. This season reminds me of the 2003-04 year. Hopefully, the ending will be better!

It's early, but we need to learn how to win these games. Whether's in Western, Denver, Duluth or St. Clown. Held leads twice this weekend and a tie to show for it.

What local radio station doing tonight's game?
  9. I see Brown is the host for the Providence regional. So the committee put Providence in that region because they want to make money. Didn't Providence get "put" in Providence once before and knocked off Miami. Not saying a lot of this undoing is MSU's fault this afternoon, but it sure seems like a sweet deal that some teams just get to play in their home town without actually having to pony up the money and be a host. In the future, let's just have Bemidji State host a regional in Fargo, so the NCAA committee can put us in there.
  10. SCSU finished 30-6-3 They were 9-6-2 on NHL sheets. This team may not be built for NCAA Tournament hockey
  11. Did I miss the memo. Is the SCSU game on ESPN3 or do you have to pay for it?
  12. I can't listen to them. I have to turn the sound off. And the sad thing is, they do the Frozen Four!
  13. Looks like OSU pulled a UND Outshoot 'em Out faceoff 'em Don't score
  14. CC MOVING ON WITH A WIN OVER WESTERN, 3-2 LOOKS LIKE WESTERN WON'T GET AN AT-LARGE BID UNLESS I MISSED SOMETHING. GOT TO WIN YOUR HOME PLAYOFF GAMES!
  15. Brady Berry's to do list in the next couple weeks. 1. Put on a brave face on and go to the NCHC Frozen Faceoff this next weekend and watch 4 other teams. 2. Conduct end-of-season interviews with players and make hard decisions on what the 2019-20 roster will look like. Will some current guys need to find other places to play. 3. Conduct end-of season evaluations with his coaching staff. What went right? What went wrong? What improvements and changes are needed? Not just with the power play. The coaches recruit the players, but they also coach them. Some players are more ready to adjust to the college game than others. And if some are not developing or playing to their potential within the systems, then that falls back on coaching. What can they do to get the most out of those players. They need to "own up" to some of the shortcomings of the on-ice product. 4. Meet with the AD and convince him that the ship will get righted next year. In addition to the tradition and national following from alumni this program gets, hockey is an economic driver for the athletic budget. Not to mention the community. Anything else?

    ITS OVER!!!

Well, who would of thought NDSU's men's basketball team would be playing longer in winter than UND hockey.
  17. The fan forum (or the dozen or so that post) on the Miami site are getting fed up with Enrico and the Miami meltdown this season. I really think all those years in the CCHA and playing a good chunk of games against sub-par competition really is staring to show its true colors. I think Miami would have been a middle-of-the-pack team in the old WCHA. Maybe would challenge, and get an auto-bid now and again, but not be the juggernaut it was in the old CCHA. Other than that one season it won the NCHC conference tournament, it's looking like that program bit off more than it can chew in the NCHC. Not too many conference cupcakes anymore to pad the wins.
  18. Did we miss the trading deadline?
  19. We may very well have to go back there (Denver) in a little over a month. Praying we are saving our goals for then.
  20. Agreed. There are always going to be ups and downs throughout the institution, but when several programs seem to be floundering at one time it's cause for alarm and prudency.
  21. This is not a men's basketball-specific post. Not sure how to link this to all sports forums at UND, which it very well could be, but it's apparent in the last 18 months the state of UND's athletics is trending downward. I'm an alum and follower (not a big follower of sports), but it's concerning right now where we are at compared to our peer schools in the region. I know AD Chaves has not been on the job long, but he's going to have to his work cut out over the next off season to begin to get this institution's athletics on a positive trajectory. I wish him well. Many of the so-called high-profile sports are sputtering and apathy and drop in donor/alumni support are concerns. Thoughts
  22. In addition Berry, I think the person not getting much sleep tonight is Bill Chaves. Moo U just won another title. And our signature program just got swept by a school that plays its games above parking garage.
