  1. If they had waited, then we could have gone with Fighting Moose after that moose broke into Memorial Stadium.
  2. I would certainly lose interest, but it might be a wash for the NCAA. They'd likely get more money and more fans watching from the bigger conferences that will inevitably fill out the bracket. Conversely, the NIT might become more interesting to watch.
  3. Hmm. Perhaps they could form a conference of sorts that played bubble like tournaments with rotating hosts. Would cut down on the travel costs for the geographically separated schools.
  4. Feeney entered the portal. Can't say I'm surprised.
  5. 20 minutes of video review and I get up to let the dogs out. Step in a large great Dane size puddle. Go to the bathroom to get cleaning supplies and find a pug size pile of trash. Clean up both messes in time to walk back in and see a bunch of gold helmets hugging each other. Seems about par for the night.
  6. A walk on goalie, .06, 5OT, .04...one of these teams are going to give me a heart attack
  7. I'm surprised Wisconsin is second considering their record this year.
  8. I saw on Twitter that he got invited to the senior bowl as well.
  9. Still in the hunt to be sure but this losing streak stings for sure. I don't have NCHC.TV this year but looking at the stats I've got to say that Driscoll has been under performing. How do we not have anyone better to put in net?
  10. We are not the team we were the last few years that's for sure. Makes me wish we had kept some players under the COVID rules but I get why we didn't. That being said, I'm not too worried about missing the tournament just yet. We are still #11 in the Pairwise and Cornell is #14 now so this hurts but it won't tank us. We should still make the tournament but we definitely need to improve our defense and goaltending if we want actually do anything beyond making the tournament.
  11. The lack of transparency is troubling. I know some on the committee have said they had no other options, but to my knowledge nothing concrete has ever been released to the public. $60 million is a ridiculously high number given the operation budget of other nearby schools. With enough notice, a targeted campaign might of worked, but Kennedy said they could save all the program earlier in the year only to change his mind later. That delay likely prevented any sport, including WH, from raising the necessary funds in time for the next year.
  12. Not a bad idea. Neither goalie did well yesterday but Driscoll has been struggling overall. Especially on Fridays.
  13. As a Terre Haute resident I can confirm that ISU was pretty happy with their opening win despite the low passing yards.
  14. True, but he did so with a large budget and international recruits. Meanwhile smaller schools in MN were just as competitive as us with a fraction of the budget and using local players.
  15. I agree that this often gets neglected and like women's hockey, the argument that native North Dakotans don't have an opportunity to compete within the state anymore. However like women's hockey, it was a very expensive sport to maintain. Long term, the squeaky wheel gets the wheel. I suspect sometime in the future (I have no idea or guess as to win), UND will bring Women's hockey back. I'd be surprised if the same is true of swimming and diving.
  16. It's unfortunate, but realistically they both needed to take pay cuts if they were going to stay and keep the team competitive.
  17. It was rigged in the sense that all of the good names were eliminated before the public vote. Hawks came out as the consensus vote. Using "Fighting" and the How About We Keep Sioux probably helped push it over the top. The logo has grown on me a bit, but I'll be happy when they finally change it (whenever that may be).
  18. And he didn't stop by UND? Slacker
  19. I miss Molitor.
  20. He's my favorite Wild player, but I wonder if Parise would waive his clause to play for Hak given how this last year ended? To answer my own question, I doubt it, but it's interesting to think about. Same goes for Oshie or Toews. I doubt they'd willing leave their teams, but it would be interesting if they did.
  21. Sucks that it happened, but it sure would have been nice of the administration to have cut the program earlier in the year so the athletes could get a better chance to transfer.
  22. I see your points and if he was several years in I would agree. However with only a year or two into the job I would have liked to see some professionalism to offer the school more stability.
  23. Obviously it worked well tonight but I hope to see Parise get back in the lineup. I get that the younger guys have played well down the stretch he's done well the second half too.
  24. I can't say I would have made the same decisions he did, but he did well in his short time here. That being said, he tried to leave a year after he got here, and then he got a job that had political ties and he got bit. What goes around comes around.
