Crookston dropping football seems like a no-brainer. Terrible record, horrible attendance, and a field that wasn't even playable for most games this year. There was some talk in Crookston about a new athletic facility, which would include some type of bubble for football, guess that will be re-evaulated.

If St. Cloud and UM-C both drop, the NSIC would be lopsided as both schools are in the northern division.

Yet UM-Crookston still somehow manages to hang on to their barely above high school football program. UM-C must have some serious pull in the state

Agreed..seems there was a lot of excitement when Phase 2 plan was announced and then kinda died out until this article was published. I know there are probably some behind the scenes horse trading occurring, but it would be nice to have a deadline for fundraising and occasional updates. Heraldo reports that GAP is closing at the mall. J.C. Penny is barely hanging on as a company (shares hovering around $1.00), wouldn't be surprised if that closes in 2020 or early 2021 depending on holiday sales. If not for Scheels, that mall would be on a life-support

Anyone know when the team is actually leaving? If this storm hits as predicted, it's going to be tough leaving Thursday afternoon and Friday.

Face it, Grand Forks and most of North Dakota is a ghost town on labor day weekend unless one of the lucky area's with a lake. At least Thursday Night games can attract the locals and prevent out-of-city fans from having to choose between Lake Days or Football.

I still can't believe the powers at be let this type of agreement happen.
