I have a theory the only reason current ownership still has the mall is to pad their numbers on number of square feet owned nationwide.
Used this data as leverage to secure loans for other pursuits.
Scheels and JC Penny likely pay just enough rent to keep it a float
I'm from Nashville and have family there, so keeping track of the COVID situation very closely. Nashville opened "phase 2" a couple weeks earlier than Minnesota. They have since seen a rise in COVID hospitalizations and holding off on moving to phase 3. No idea what the long term outlook with be at this time.
How does a city the size of Grand Forks have all council races be unopposed?
As many people that complain on the interwebs about operations, thought dozens would be lining up.
UConn is being forced to cut 25% or more of it's athletic budget, which will include cutting of teams. It appears both M&W ice hockey are safe, but nothing is known for sure until the final decision. Good article on how a squandered move from FCS to FBS played a factor

And when the money runs out again next year?!
Not trying to be political, but everyone loves budget cuts unless it's something they enjoy. Suddenly, it's sacred.
I am still surprised it did not sell to some developer or land speculator for future use.
It is a prime, basically undeveloped location, being near campus, Alerus Center, and interstate ramps.
Except, when is a golf course part of Higher Education?
If UND offered a degree in turf management, I could see it.
Selling the course and land would have brought hundreds of thousands of dollars to the University for other more pressing needs (perhaps, a modern football locker room maybe)
I am actually surprised there is not a stronger Canada/UND connect in basketball (men's or women's). Is there just there not a lot of D1 talent? Winnipeg has like 8 high schools and there has two be a least a couple of D1 role players within the group.
Spicy Pie at the time I lived in Grand Forks was certainly the only place (I knew of) where you could just get a couple slices of pizza.
That was certainly their market. Never really ordered a whole pie from that place as far better options existed.
and starting next season, so seems this was in the works for awhile. The press release did not mention an area, any idea where they will play? They have two campuses, one in Brooklyn and one in Brookville
