If we stick with what we have in house at OLB it’s gonna be another long year on the defensive side of the ball. I like what I have seen from Rucker but nothing else excites me in that room. Are we counting on our young guys at DE? I’d imagine we would have to bring in a couple of safeties as well.

I hope Bubba makes me eat crow, but USD and SDSU sticking with their coaches is buying him more time IMO. It’s easy to point to those examples instead of making the right decision. I hope I’m wrong and we have a good year, but I am not very optimistic going into next year.

Do most schools rotate receivers and personnel as much as we do in game?

If it gets worse, Bubba and Danny will be gone.

If we see the same !@#$ from Danny this doesn’t matter. I think this had to be done to get to the level we want. There is chance we will miss what we had but we have to take this risk.

He got any connections that could help turn around a defense? If they promoted HC from within I’d almost pick him first.

I am not ok with where this program is at and I have higher expectations. I would assume there is a decent amount on this board that think this as well, the problem is that we are the diehards and represent a small majority of the fan base.

Agreed that Danny was bad both games. The defense has to be better against Sac St though. It’s not like the defense was on the field the majority of the game and didn’t get any rest.

Defense will somehow play somewhat decent against the Griz because there will be 10k plus in attendance. I don’t make the rules.

The last two playoff games the defense has been as bad as you can be. At this point, what can be done to save it? What is there to be excited about on that side of the ball next year? This defense isn’t even close to being good or where it needs to be. With no likely changes to the defensive staff, what is going to change?

I would have been frustrated if I were him.

It’s a combination of both. Bad coaching with people in positions that shouldn’t be and talent deficiency. Not a good combo.

He doesn’t love UND enough to leave a great job and cut his pay more than half?

We aren’t experts on this site. But we were all worried about OLB and safety going into the season… Pathetic how bad these position groups have become.

Soooooooo… Something has to change, but unfortunately I don’t think anything will. Bo said in his postgame he will likely be back. Tell Tommy thank you for everything, but we are going to go in another direction and have Trey and Jerry compete for the job next year. Impressed with Seidl and Tai, I think this offense still has a bright future. Can anyone give me a reason to be optimistic about the defense next year? I can’t think of anything right now…

Also, when your best group of OLB’s and ILB’s during your 10 years were mainly Mussman guys, that should also say something…

When you have your worst defenses in your tenure during year 9 and 10, and you are supposedly a defensive minded coach, that should say it all…
