Never said that this isn’t on coaching, it obviously is. The one I quoted was more specific to the SDSU game, not on the big picture. I think everyone on here would agree that they could do a better job developing players once they get here. I think it’s fair to say that two things can be true: 1. SDSU had better players overall at every position group and we got manhandled. 2. Coaching was lackluster and they didn’t seem prepared.

Coaching matters, but so do the players you recruit. If the players you recruit aren’t good enough then it doesn’t matter how good the coach is.

Holm has had a solid year as well!

A UND team that ended up 5-6 in 2021 competed with and honestly had chances to beat a NDSU team that ended up winning it all. (I understand they had a different QB at the time, but it’s not like Miller ended up being a world beater) UND is a different team at home and I believe the crowd will play a factor like it did in 2021. One of the only games I’ve been to in the Al where fans were standing every down on defense. There is absolutely no reason this game shouldn’t be competitive and it’s time to finally beat them.

This will be Bubbas biggest game as a head coach excluding playoffs. If he doesn’t win this one…

Also lots of us are at the game. Usually home game GDT is a lot quieter. I usually don’t post much if I’m at the game.

It was clear yesterday we are behind in every single position group. The coaches have failed in recruitment of the right body types for this defense. Would you say 2015/2016 was the last year we had the size needed?

I really don’t think there are many that are fine with not contending for an FCS title on this forum.

How much of this has to do with preparation? I really think it mostly has to do with the fact that the SDSU offense is that much better than our defense. We aren’t good enough and that falls on the coaches

I feel like there was a certain point last year where the coaches told Tommy he needed to scramble more. He does have it in him, he needs to go back to it again.
