Yes, 45% of the lower bowl, but still only 20% of the entire arena. I believe it'd essentially be the same amount of seats in the same spot as the place UND hockey use to play only a few years ago, the old Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Do you hear players "calling for the puck" cause the boards are miked.
-
Is that cause the winner of the NSIC gets an autobid to the playoffs this year? How does this years playoffs work? Do the #1 and #2 teams get byes?
-
The article mentioned said Average of the other WCHA student's in the LOWER bowls. The student section is always sold out and full in the lower section of the arena, why because those are good seats. A lot of students don't go to games because you are far from the action and atmosphere in the upper bowl and frankly it sucks..but yes you can see all of the ice "better." Just look at the figures for how many students came out to try and get lower bowl season tickets. But this is all arbitrary because increasing student seats in the lower bowl will never happen.

Anything think Chris Belmore might have a slight advantage over Manke because his brother is the assistant coach?

He tries to bring up a point about the Sioux football team playing Manitoba, and some people degrade him and/or his (bf1234) favorite football team? The Sioux do play Manitoba in hockey for an exhibition game, so maybe the same could be the same for football, but the Sioux would never play them in a non-conference game because I'm (almost) sure the NCAA doesn't include teams against a canadian team in it's SSI. Who knows he could be right, it might be a good game.

When do they usually start the broadcast. I can't get the Augustana game.

With the technology (Engelstad employees now "punch" in to work by scanning their hands) at the ralph you'd think they'd know exactly what seats haven't been scanned in yet, so they could sell rush tickets for that exact seat after a certain length of time, for a discount. How much were they at the Old Ralph?

Has the plans been finalized? Last I heard I think Roger Maris was in the running. I hope that doesn't fly, along with any other sports related picture, unless it's a Sioux Logo . We all know ND is known for the buffalo and wide open spaces, but come on let's get something more creative. People want to drop the "north" from the name to help change the image, but look at a license plate that is seen around the country.....buffalo, wheat, and a prairie. Ideas?

It's gotta say something when you get banned under your own home team's message board and they say you (he) can reregister as long as you (he) use no name that contains NDSU or the Bison and stay on topic.

I thought they got rid of the lap ticket after complaints?

Increase attendance? UND has one of the highest attendance average per capacity in the country. The problem is 1) season ticket holders who don't show and 2) Not selling the GA/Student tickets for lower level teams. This is usually when a person not familiar with Sioux hockey can get a chance to purchase a ticket. Experiences they will probably notice their first time is Parking. A first timer probably doesn't know where to park. Is it at the old Memorial stadium and waiting for a bus? I don't think people enjoy that to much when it's -30 F. But I know of no short term solution. One could sell rush tickets, but I don't think REA wants to do this, because a couple years ago, we couldn't even find seats in the student section, and it wasn't even for the gophers. The attendants tried helping us find seats but to no prevail. So we went to the lower bowl to sit in seats that were unoccupied, but the attendants wanted to look at our tickets. After about thirty minutes of this we decided to leave.

I think a good comparison would be using Minnesota in hockey against Wisconsin and the Sioux. Minnesota seems both as a rivalry. When Wisconsin is having a the bad years and UND is doing extremely good, like the last few years, Minnesota would rather play UND. Minnesota historically sees Wisconsin as their main rivalry because of the other sports they compete against each other in, which the Sioux have no control over. The Sioux and Bison have historically been a great rivalry, but the Sioux have won the majority in the past few years as the Bison have not been to good, including not making the playoffs last year. GVSU has been UND's only opponent in the Championship game with each winning 1. So maybe not historically GVSU over NDSU, but this year, I'd have to pick GVSU because they're rated number one in the country with UND #2, and how the last time they played it was in the championship game with GVSU winning. I believe if it was at the Alerus this year it'd probably be (near) a sellout.

I go to in-forum.com and at the top it says "Fargo-Grand Forks, ND."

You can also go to WDAZ.com

funny thing was I was looking at all the volleyball players a couple days ago, and couldn't stop thinking how hot that exact same girl was...
-
You got it wrong. Nov 13th is when they will actually play at the Alerus Center.
-
Does the Ralph even allow tailgating?
-
11,500 seats in the ralph Times .041 equals 471 seats. Students have alot more than 471 seats.
-
It seems weird to have no center hung scoreboard. There only seems to be two little scoresheets on the ends. I was hoping for some tvs or something to show replays.

Canad to Break Ground in February I'm glad they are not rushing things and are taking their time. It sounds like a fun place, can't wait to test it out. Hopefully it will help out the Alerus greatly.
