  1. I must admit that the TJ Oshie I saw post-game and in the NBC Sochi Olympic studios being interviewed is not the TJ Oshie I recall. The young man has matured and actually showed some polish. I must admit I was impressed. I'm proud to say TJ Oshie represented our (his and my) alma mater well. Well done TJ.
  2. Haven't the RedWings been tagged "Team Sweden" this season? Detroit's also been very beatable this year.
  3. A full season of playing eligibility for that #3 goalie ... for 20 minutes in an already lost game. That's not a good trade. "Goalie H" hasn't gotten any official playing time this season so this could serve as a redshirt year. (He's "Goalie H" because I have no idea how to spell his name.)
  4. Agree, and hope the same.
  5. 1. Can we decline penalties? All the UND PP seems to do is burn two minutes off the clock with no threat on the opponent goal. 2. I'm going to say it: This team has too many grinders. Sorry, but where is the offensive talent? Gaarder, St. Clair, Chyzyk, would struggle to make the team 10 years ago. I put bringing guys that like in as simply being stubborn to a system. 3. Mentioning 'system': Back to the right-wing 5x5 entry ... every time. Good grief, every team on earth has tape on that and knows how to stop it. So do something different. Where is the offensive creativity? Where is the free-form play. Oh, yeah, grinders don't have any, and it's all about system play.
  6. Ifs ... buts ... Merry Christmas.
  7. That article is more proof of rampant grade inflation.
  8. In the WCHA that game would've been on a Friday night, not a Thursday night. That alone is worth about 2k more attendance is my guess. And that's on the Big Ten (Network).
  9. Josh Murray? Anyone? Anyone?
  10. "In other words, it doesn’t matter who you bring in if you can’t get the most out of them." - Tom Miller I can't say Mr. Miller is wrong.
  11. Of course the Michigan guys are first in. They can fax at 8 am local time ...
  12. In the eyes of Bostonians, Penn State and Niagara are "western" schools.
  13. Re: Beck You can't teach 6'4" and 285 to an 18 year old. You can, however, teach technique to a 6'4", and 285, 18 year old.
  14. I'm thinking the rules about the net coming off the moorings in a shoot-out needs a new look. Basically: - if the shooter touches the net with anything more than a stick -- no goal - if the goalie causes the net to dislodge -- good goal (even if a shot is never taken)
  15. Anchorage (on the Pacific) is warmer; Fairbanks is colder.
  16. I'm guessing you're in the minority of your ilk.
  17. Seems this new regime can recruit. They have some good verbals lined up. I'm disappointed to not see a RB; however, than can still change. What I'm now interested in seeing is if they can do more than recruit, meaning put a winning product on the field. Don't tell me; don't sell me; I heard all that 12 months ago; I want to see it. The previous regime was good at making hamburger out of prime rib. Right about now I'd settle for sirloin from sirloin.
  18. Would NDSU trade an FCS banner for a dance trip?
  19. My prediction: Wilber stays south of the 49th parallel for a while after that prediction.
  20. You vastly underestimate the importance of "teh hockies" to the alumni, and budgets, of those two.
  21. It is a beautiful clear blue sky on a crisp, clear, and yes, cold February day. I take that as a win.
  22. It works for Jaguar ... The Villains.

Fargo-Moorhead radio is aligned into basically two large clusters and a couple outliers (one of which is AM 970 WDAY). From Wikipedia (which is never wrong ): On September 18, 2012, The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead reported that Radio Fargo-Moorhead, Inc. had announced on its website a deal to sell all the stations in the cluster to Midwest Communications of Wausau, Wisconsin.[1] The sale was approved by the FCC and finalized on 1 May 2013. Within hours of the sale, Radio Fargo-Moorhead owner purchased the cross-town rival cluster owned by Triad Broadcasting (KVOX-FM, KLTA, KPFX, KQWB-FM, KQWB-AM, and KBMW) in a deal that allowed him to take immediate control of the stations via a Local Marketing Agreement while the full sale awaited FCC approval.[2] In a third deal, Ingstad arranged to swap KVOX-FM with his former Country outlet KBVB, and its morning show "Chris, John and Jane".[3] The new Radio Fargo-Moorhead group identifies themselves as "Radio FM Media" and includes: KBMW 1450 (Talk/country) KBVB 95.1 "BOB95" (country) KLTA 98.7 "Big 98-7" (Hot AC) KPFX 107.9 "107.9 The Fox" (Classic rock) KQWB-AM 1660 "True Oldies 1660" (Oldies) KQWB-FM 105.1 "Q105.1" (Active rock) In September 2013, Radio FM Media started operating KZDR-FM "92.7 The Drive" Under a Local Marketing Agreement. The station is owned by an Ingstad family member who identifies the company as "Mediactive LLC". The other cluster is: The six station cluster consisted of: KVOX (AM) 740 - "740 The Fan" (sports) KFGO AM 790 - "The Mighty 790 KFGO" (news/talk) WDAY-FM 93.7 - "Y94" (CHR/top 40) KRWK FM 101.9 - "101.9 Talk FM" (news/talk) KMJO FM 104.7 - "104.7 Popster FM" (contemporary adult hits)

If I recall, NDSU is buying air time on stations and controlling their own broadcast (including selling their own advertising time). I believe UND is still running an affiliate model where the stations pay to take the broadcast and the stations then sell their advertising time during the broadcast. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
