  1. I can only work so fast. To all: Lose the profanity ... and don't quote it.
  2. Given that DeBoer has never been at UND I think he could only be "Lennon 1.1" at SIU. At UND he'd be DeBoer 1.0 Thinking some more ... Bubba and Muss were Lennon assistants. ...Uh-oh ... Lennon is Thomas 1.1 Muss was Thomas 1.1.1 !!!
  3. Yes, I believe that would be good. Focus on football, not past buddies and schmoozers. There are always new players, every year. Too long: 2-3 year plan. Sure, but focus on the back yard -- where the good linemen are. I'd like to see higher goals for winning than yours. Best player on the field -- class designation matters not, performance does.* *In hockey terms, skate or sit.
  4. Lennon = Lennon 1.0 Mussman = Lennon 1.1 Bubba would be Lennon 1.2 UND 2.0
  5. 'kingranch': Please follow board rules and do not use profanity. Thank you. PS - I was nice and took care of it for you ... this time.
  6. I'm going to keep saying I believe the program needs a fresh start. UND 2.0
  7. Beating Any Defense with Play Action Passing -- by Kalen DeBoer <facepalm>
  8. I recall something (internet video maybe) interviewing DeBoer where he said that when he was at USF he had a library of tape on UND and modeled a lot of what he tried to do at USF after UND. In that same piece I recall him saying UND would be a dream job for him. But now I can't find it.* *And with that I have put this site's crack team of investigators on the case.
  9. I can state this: As a head coach, Kalen DeBoer has a perfect record in Alerus Center.
  10. Probably is. Figure out where Carl Ben Eielson MS is and you'll figure out what I said.
  11. Bring SIU staff to UND; save franchise? That should get 'em rollin' at the SIU board.
  12. My guess at an answer: DeBoer's offense hasn't been exactly ripping it up at SIU.
  13. An HR department's job is the vetting process of candidates. If they know of one that just won't pass that process they won't pass the name along to save the committee's time reviewing someone who can not get the position. I've seen that when I've hired people. Me: "I know X applied. Why aren't they in this stack?" HR: "Uh, we know about this urine test result ... " Me: "<curseword>"
  14. The "9" is coming from UND HR. They score the applicants and send over the highest of those that fully meet the minimum criteria. -- No Aetna agents, no sandwich artists, and not gamers who use PowerPoint. Now, to the better point: Prove to me that Mr. Faison is *not*: (a) working someone to apply (the position is not closed for applications until filled), and (b) working key alumni to get more money for a staff.
  15. Portland State's football program has been told it must be fiscally self-sufficient going forward because of a $15 million budget shortfall at the university. http://www.oregonlive.com/collegefootball/index.ssf/2013/12/portland_states_football_progr.html Now, linking in a different, but related, thought by "ira" in another thread: We know there are "haves" and "have nots" in the Big Sky. If this is the first sign of coming fiscal issues at other schools it's time for UND to behave as a "have" (because it is). Don't get left behind with the have nots.
  16. How is Dale Lennon feeling right now knowing both of his coordinators are shopping themselves? I think the handwriting is on the wall for Dale in Carbondale: Win in 2014 or be moved along.
  17. Folks, I said back after the debacle against Montana that the firing should've happened then, before the bye week. Many disagreed. I was willing to run out the season with an "interim" to avoid this.
  18. In that scenario: Brad Berry; Steve Johnson; Cary Eades. Fastest turn (internal hire) would be Berry. The problem here is that UND Football was on a slow steady bleed of coaching talent since 2007.
  19. Aren't we in a "dead period" now until mid-January?
  20. Folks, James 5:9 That is all. (See, I did go to church yesterday and was listening!) PS - Can we get back to a conference re-alignments discussion now?
