Schmidt's been busting on "Saint" Luke for "one career broken tackle" for a decade and a half.

But I still like this "fighting hawk" more.

Anyone else think this is Megatron leveraging for a trade to a contender?

Looking at that list, my personal opinions: - you can keep Education majors in today's hyper-PC world (out go Clay and Shirley) - mentioning Shirley, he's not ready: VCSU and MSU in the NDUS are not enough - I'm stunned the former MN Congressman (Kennedy) is on the list - Noren was up for the job in once before; I can say this because I'm not on the committee: I'm worried about age (see: Kelley) I see Naganathan, Olsen, and Rudin as the top three. Two are research; one is the money guy who knows the State.

If her "college" had more students than the sophomore class at GF Red River HS she might've been taken seriously.

Firstly, I'd see the B1G subsidizing a couple of their own members to add the sport before humbling themselves and admitting that UND could help out their conference. So I really don't see this (UND as B1G Hockey affiliate) scenario coming to reality. Then again, the B1G never had affiliate members before they added lacrosse as a sport and added Johns Hopkins as an affiliate (to add lax cred, and because JHU has a lot of influence in Washington DC). Given that, and before I answer, what else could UND leverage out of the deal? If UND could negotiate anything, I'd say it would have to be a scheduling guarantee: UND home games always on Friday and Saturday nights. After that it would be a continued regional media deal for games not picked up by BTN. Otherwise, if the B1G comes calling, unless you're Notre Dame, you answer.

Show me any committee that isn't being snowed most of the time.

So Bresciani has a goal to make NDSU AAU ....

I wonder what the NDSU students will think of this? Seventy thousand a lot of scholarship money (or lower student fees). https://sayanythingblog.com/entry/ndsu-foundation-pays-over-70k-for-bresciani-expenses-including-country-club-and-parties/ -
That's just a bad hair ... feathers .. day.

A hawk with a 'hawk?

It's too bad the North Star Cup isn't scheduled the way it should be: Relegation.* *The team that loses the third place game is out the following year.

Skating? Pogo's stride makes me cringe, but he gets to where he needs to be and surprises with how quickly he does it. (see: Marcinko Commandment #9)

Don't use feathers with it.

Fighting Hawks

A hawk doesn't have a tuft on the back of its head. To the "looks like a pheasant" comment: Agree.

My calendar says "2016". History says you don't know what you have in a QB recruit until two years later.

I know someone who likes to say, "there's no such thing as sort of dead or kind of pregnant", but I guess there is kind of a promise.

Shirley is nowhere near ready for UND. Now if he was a current dean at UND with his existing resume behind him, maybe.
-
I sure hope not. That would be a fraud against everyone.

I wish Carson Wentz all the best. He's done the work and earned the shot. That said ... I've seen a lot of hyped, can't miss, QBs coming out of college over the years. And more miss than hit. Not saying that'll happen here, but history says it's far easier to be hyped and miss than get one of 32 jobs. At least Wentz seems like a smart enough kid to understand that and ignore the hype and keep doing the work.

Kinda-sorta-almost-like a live interview blog from Tuesday's round: http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/local/3938099-und-president-interviews-candidate-would-position-und-state-region-nation

I'm involved in the process to hire a new leader for a significant organization in the region. I asked our headhunter about "nine interviews in a day" and "17 interviews in two days". I've never seen someone laugh so hard, ... and then say, "You're serious?" He wondered how you could get a feel for someone in just an hour, and he wondered how the interview committee could remember each candidate after about the fourth interview. He also said, "That many interviews in a day is fair neither to the candidates nor the committee. I'd never do that to a client or any of my contacts."
