    Here's where I'm at. The name wasn't my first choice. The logo is growing on me (clean, sleek). Most of all I'm happy I'm no longer wasting energy on fighting the fight was was lost on August 5, 2005. I'm happy the University is no longer fighting that fight. There was a lot of good energy spent on that. Now that energy can be refocused on building a better University of North Dakota.

    Well, ... yes. The nickname had been official adopted before Quinnipiac was dispatched. Thus, the team on the ice was officially the ... Fighting Hawks. How many teams can claim they won a championship within six (four?) months of adopting a new nickname.

    To me you recruit almost "full units" every year. That's 5 OL, at least one TE/FB, a feature back, two WRs, an a QB. You do the same on defense: at least 3 DL, 4 LB, and 4 DBs. You go with specials on the "other" years (P on evens, K on odds). That's a class of about 20-22 every year. Attrition says the math works.

    Cal Poly in ten or fewer words: Lull you in, draw you in, over the top. Play the defense from Boseman and things will be fine. MidcoSN is re-running Cal Poly/SDSU right now.

    I went out and found his HS tape. Honestly, his throwing motion has the basics to be made into an FCS motion. What I didn't like is his running stride. Both I believe can be fixed with the simple difference of 17 year old in Rugby HS to 20 year old in FCS university and weight program. Being smart and hard working are pre-reqs to be a QB in my book.
