  1. I have tried to not use the old nickname, the five-letter "S" word, other than in reference to geographical places ever since Standing Rock didn't come to support UND in its time of need. I do it not against UND; I do it to forget and ignore bad neighbors.
  2. If you allow it to be nothing but negative, that's all it'll be. There is something positive to be gained or learned from every experience, no matter how painful.
  3. Fixed and added links to your post.
  4. What Saturday confirmed to me, looking around at games in the region, is UND needs a roof in December.
  5. Why doesn't Gordon return punts? Or do I want to know ...
  6. Dear Utah, You beat the 2015 BSC champs (24-0) to open your 2016 season. You get the 2016 BSC co-champs to open your 2017 season. Just look back. 24-0. The BSC champ is no threat to you. Look to your following 2017 game: at BYU. That's what you should worry about and focus on. Signed, Nothing to see here; forget about UND
  7. OK, you intrigued me with that comment about a guy who's a DB on the roster. I went back to look at his Hudl recruiting video. He was a dual-threat QB in HS. He was elusive as a runner; however, and there's always one of those, his throwing motion is very, very unrefined. His wrist is barely above his shoulder when he throws; you'd like to see the elbow up near shoulder height and it's nowhere near that. He'd need a lot of work on that throwing motion or he'd have a lot of passes blocked or tipped at the DI level.
  8. I don't see Gardner (22 green) in that photo. Who's the kid on one knee doing "Hamlet"? More seriously, I'd really like to see video of what Gardner did.
  9. I'll ask again: How good is the QB (Brock Boltmann) that is coming this fall? He is 6'1" and 190. His father is his HS FB coach. I foresee this HS dual threat QB at Studsrud 2.0. Do we trust that Heidelbaugh will develop enough to cover the transition?
  10. Imagine just having a real two-deep where a single injury doesn't shuffle the entire line.
  11. Re-read the (added) last sentence of my prior post on subject.
  12. In NY that's called "equal opportunity".
  13. OK, I was in Alerus Center at the time so I didn't see the first two periods. Where's the video of this human rights violation that Rhett Gardner perpetrated and that will surely have the UN Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International putting Rhett on watch lists for the rest of his natural life. (Please detect that I first heard about it in a text from a BC fan. )
  14. I'm with RD17 (a couple posts back). This is another step in the process to not only building a team, but a perennially successful program.
  15. Mentioning that ... UND got a bad spot and had to punt. UR fumbled the punt. Stuff happens.
  16. That would be a huge step for the program. If a true freshman plays let it be because you want to put him on the field because he will succeed, not because you have to because there are no other options.
  17. There must've been "a few" UND fans there. The BC Heights acknowledged "the large contingent from Grand Forks, N.D. screamed louder than hustle and bustle of even New York City." http://bcheights.com/sports/hockey/mens-hockey/2016/north-dakota-bc-college-hockey-showdown/ BC doesn't acknowledge anybody does anything better than them.
  18. Per NWS Bismarck ( http://www.weather.gov/bis/ ) for the next 48 hours:
  19. BC fans don't travel well. To them, having to play in a regional in Providence or Manchester is having to go way, way west. I'll honestly believe 2/3 of the attendance was UND fans.
  20. Side bar: Good Lord people. The old nickname and "Hawks" are both mono-syllabic. It is ... Let's Go Hawks! <-- three beats not Let's go Haw-awks <-- four beats The four beat amateurs trying to get a chant going Saturday v. Michigan State were pitiful.
  21. How about just late regular season attendance for that matter.
  22. What was posted shows five returning starters on the offensive line. That's a start. Now, tell me about the front seven of the defense. The LB losses concern me.
  23. Tell me about the offensive line, I'll tell you about the season.
  24. There are reports of more UND fans than that at the game ... in Madison Square Garden.
