  1. Ausmus is a senior. You have to assume Tucker Poolman goes. Chartrand is a sophomore that has never cracked the (non-exhibition) lineup. That's a combo that seldom sees a junior season. There's three slots in my mind. And then I'd have brought up Wolanin, except for his play the last couple weeks.
  2. Duluth was bigger, faster, stronger on the puck and stick, and more decisive. Plus they are a veteran squad at defense with a couple highly skilled forwards up front. They are built for right now. And it showed.
  3. Kennedy was/is a politician. He knows it's important to stay connected to key parts of the constituency.

  5. Thread locked. No politics. Thank you.
  6. Pure educated guess, but for UND I'd speculate ... Andrew Zimmerman or Brock Boltmann. In 2019 Zimmerman will be a senior and Boltmann a sophomore.
  7. I took the same patches (WAC has ability to bestow FBS; Cal Baptist to WAC) and my own thread (thoughts) and came up with a different looking quilt. < shrug >
  8. Your thoughts (the stitching) require no evidence as they are hypotheses to be proved or disproved. But, admittedly, yes, the patches (the pieces of data) should have sources and references. And understand, I'm not talking SV here, I'm talking any discussion.
  9. There's always a choice. They could've challenged the Big Ten bylaw. Heck, they could've left the Big Ten. Sure, not practical, but possible, so choices. They chose to fall in line with the BTHC which means that was their best choice in their minds. They made the choice best for them.
  10. Minnesota acted first and did what it believed best for it. North Dakota then did what it believed best for it. Nothing more need be said.
  11. It's the ongoing theme in Season 20.
  12. The funny thing about baseball analogies (I'll fully admit) is that sometimes the beaten down impossible ... well ... here (and I'm no Dodger fan):
  13. No, I said his thoughts are the thread. A quilt is as good as its stitching.
  14. Current Massey Ratings Please note that the NCHC has "9" teams. Massey for some reason has Arizona State included in the NCHC ranking calculation. Even with that drag* ... 15. I'll give Dave this: He added a new definition to the phrase "jersey chaser".
  16. Don't call us your pet names ...
  17. I try to use them like a great artist painting a canvas. (And with that I just went all simile on you. )
  18. He's making his quilt. You don't have to cuddle up in it. I stand and look at it for the patches of information.
  19. The one that stands out in my mind: UND to BSC.
  20. Though all this remains this smoldering item: The WAC can still offer FBS status to schools looking to more up. That is the one last thing the WAC has going for them. It was confirmed last summer in the Idaho (or was it the NMSU) report. And others know it. I see the WAC as ripe for a hostile takeover by a group with common like-minded interests. Call it a "Gordon Gecko" scenario: That group would come in, take over, keep what they really want and strip off the dead weight of the organization. The flip side is the WAC also has to know they are vulnerable that way. They need to stay solvent enough to stay alive and keep enough "stock" (internal voting members) to keep from being "corporate raided" as those current members know they are the dead weight to be stripped away. Remember, the only valuable, salvageable asset is that ability to bequeath FBS status. Should a "raider group" come in, they'd look to move out the non-performing assets. So, to recap: The WAC is a distressed company with one good asset. There are folks outside that company that would really like control of that asset. The WAC knows this as well. But the WAC also knows they are distressed and the non-performing assets would be set aside (voted out) should they allow too many raiders into the company. To my eyes, the existing WAC members just brought in someone like them (Cal Baptist) to make sure they have votes should they decide to allow the raiders in the door. The raiders? They're waiting for the distressed asset to have no choice but to either let them in or have nothing. Cal Baptist is at best a provisional, staying, move as Chicago State will tip over shortly and the WAC will be in the "let them in or have nothing" category.
