Yeah, that "12" in there means he's a sophomore.

Remember: Cavanaugh was the source of all of their problems.

Huh? "Sioux Sports Network" is FSSN because it is properly called the "Fighting Sioux Sports Network". The FSSN carries every Sioux home hockey game. Period. There is an "FSN" also, more properly called in these part, "FSN North". That network covers a team that got swept at home by Michigan Tech last weekend. FSN North on CableOne in Fargo is channel 33. FSSN is only aired on CableOne during FSSN (note the distinction) game broadcasts and is on channel 44. (They take the silly shopping channel off and put something good on TV for a change.) Now if you're a Midco Cable customer, look here. When it comes to this (weekly) conversation, I'm with CRR.

WDAZ has been doing its own news for a long, long time. However, they do share Wheelie the Weather Guy. (He pre-tapes the weather for WDAZ.) I'm not sure what would ever happen to change that. WDAZ spends time looking at TRF/Grafton/Devils Lake stories. WDAY spends more on Fergus Falls/Jamestown/Wahpeton. In terms of the FCC, what I think GF is missing is that high-power AM station that carries like a KFYR or a KFGO or a KSJB.

http://www.UND.edu/president/html/stateofu/stateofu04.html UND is getting permission to bond for the new parking ramp, and new and renovated on-campus housing as well, at the Legislature.

" ... all Sioux home hockey games ... " ring any bells?

(on a radio somewhere in the upper Midwest) He got the shot away but he came up "Notermann". Puck went over the glass. Face-off in the right circle. On thread topic: NE will make McNabb beat them using something other than Westbrook. TO, play or not, will be a non-factor. Pats cover the spread.

(on a PA system somewhere in the upper Midwest) ... Canuck, at 5:09. That's Canuck, u-u-u-un-n-nassisted, at 5:09. (on a radio broadcast somewhere in the upper Midwest) What a play by Canuck: saw the errant move, picked up the play, and tucked away the loose change before anyone even knew it was there. Great play.

I'd guess that post-game their goal would be to do what they did at old REA: Send most of the cars east on either University or Second Avenue North.

Aren't they rebuilding the main runway out there (GF AFB) this summer?
-
I think everyone, except maybe Wilber, will agree.
-
Your statements don't really match up. Here's why: Not flying bombers to Moscow? Sure, I'll agree. But the bombers are at Minot AFB, not GF AFB. Minot would be hurt by that, not GF, right? GF AFB is a tanker, a.k.a. air-refueling, base. There are no -52s or -1s at GF. Fargo would be dinged. GF or Minot would be seriously hurt, a problem for the whole state. I'd recommend reading the thread from this summer. There are some good details in there (along with the standard banter and bickering).

I knew this had been hashed through at least once here already: last summer.

It's been in the works since the announcement of construction of The Betty. They are working to raise $8 to 16 million. This capital campaign is in addition to their efforts to raise funds for immediate needs (i.e. current budget). I don't know how they are doing or how far along they are, but The Betty is up and running.
-
The next question is: How would Fargo/NDSU/North Dakota be affected by the Air National Guard Base in Fargo being closed? There are only three tanker/refueler bases left in the USAF. One is Grand Forks. (In the last BRAC they went from near double-digits to three.)

I'm sure Lucia, Woog, and Frank M. have those tapes chained to a cinder block bound for the bottom center "of the big lake they called 'Gitche Gumee'".

There're only 16 WCHA points available. Home: Denver, Wisconsin Away: Anchorage, SCSU

How in the world can they not know when Rylan Kaip suffered a head injury that sounds like it could be career-threatening? Wouldn't you know when you took a shot to the head? So why don't they ask Rylan?

Let's look at this from a logistics point of view: - They had the WJC logo on the ice through January 4 (gold medal game). - It was a WJC logo when MSU-Mankato was in town. - I'm sure they pulled the ice (to change the paint) before home conference BB on January 14, 15, 20, and 22. What I don't get is why the ice didn't start going back in on January 23.

(Just so you all know, your chains are being jerked.) Why not build a monorail! It could stop at some of the places CoteauRinkRat mentioned and more: - SuperTarget's lot (PARKING!) - The Al's lot (MORE PARKING!) - CAS/Center for Innovation/UTechPark - The Ralph - The new parking ramp (Columbia at University, EVEN MORE PARKING!) - The Union - Johnstone/Fulton/Smith/Gamble Hall (you have to walk the skyway to Walsh) - Wilkerson and most importantly - Whitey's - The Red Pepper! - Happy Harry's PS - No way will I allow the monorail to have a stop at Twamley. Make 'em walk.

For all of Fargo's growth over the last decade, the state population is up less than 1000 people. That tells me that Fargo's growth is really the emptying out of all of the small towns in ND. That tells me ND is on a collision course for being Fargo, GF, Bismarck, Minot, and some outposts in between. star2city did the best job at explaining the similarities and differences of the two cities. The thing that makes me the most sad about Fargo's growth is that Fargo has lost its innocence and may not realize it. The morning news out of Fargo doesn't seem to start lately without the phrases an armed robbery over night, a murder investigation, a car jacking (yes, in Fargo), or another big meth/drug bust. The question about "Fargo versus Grand Forks" compared to "Fargo and Grand Forks" is best answered by (and I can't believe I'm going to say this because I've never voted for him), Senator Dorgan: By his Red River Valley* Research Corridor initiative he clearly believes that one pushes the other to be better and stronger so both (and the state) thrive. I'm pretty sure "Red River Valley" isn't by accident. You need the strengths of Fargo and Grand Forks, UND and NDSU to make ND survive and start to grow. * That says "Red River Valley", not Fargo, not Grand Forks, but the thing that connects them together -- common interest: Fargo and Grand Forks, Grand Forks and Fargo.

Wouldn't parking closer to the center of campus (like my idea above, or behind the coffee shop) be better for campus?

I'm pretty sure U2Bad1 is a poor college student. The SUV comes later. GF and Fargo were the same for gas most of the football season. I see that GF is up again comparatively.
