  1. The math the way I see it: Sure losses: Prpich, Marvin Pretty sure losses: Smaby, (forward TBD) Possible additional losses: (forward TBD) That's losing one D, one to three F, and a utility guy. Call it somewhere in the four range. Sure gains: Bina (off the redshirt) Heisenberg says: Darcy Zajac-RW Michael Forney-RW Chris Vandevelde-LW Chay Genoway-D/C <-- utility guy? Jake Marto-D I'd say Hak-n-Staff has it covered even in a "worst case" scenario. PS - Heisenberg says "Evan Trupp-LW" in 2007.
  2. Is he bringin' that &@#^ thing with again.
  3. I was going to ask that too. It seems "Andy Jackson" goes away entirely, and then some.
  4. Phil played for, Jimmy was the assistant to, Bill Fitch, another NBA coach. Minor oversight in an otherwise nice overall rant. :)
  5. I'm not a finance guy; heck, I don't even play one on TV (and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night either). However, what you're quoting is an annual return of 10%. The "normal" number I hear for expected return on an endowment is 5%. (In good years, meaning greater than 5% return on the investments, you use the extra to build the lump sum value for future return value.) If you need $3 MM annually you'd better have a $60 MM endowment would be my non-finance-guy take.
  6. Best analysis I've seen on this yet.
  7. Yup, but again, So why bring it up in comparison? Me thinks the green-eyed monster named Jealousy may have a shaved head as well.
  8. Money is like goaltending and horsepower: There is no such thing as "too much." More seriously, Dr. Kupchella's office has said (from Feb 2002): Note the words "each year". An endowment (guaranteed revenue stream) providing that much annually would be best.
  9. And the University of Idaho Vandals keep getting a free pass. (Yo, GK, don't you know a former athlete for the Vandals?) As do the San Diego State Aztecs (because Aztecs are Native Mexicans, not Native Americans, and thus not worthy of "protection" by the NCAA).
  10. Mr. Bohl must not have gotten the official Bison memo on the subject: Nobody cares about hockey. For a big, bad DI(-AA) they sure do worry a great deal about the lil' ol' neighbors to the north.
  11. Tho$e people would be e$pecially important but $ome other folk$ $ub$stantially agreeing $hould al$o be key to change$ taking place. Could it be tho$e folk$ he wa$ referring to in$tead?
  12. I see Michigan. If the lads who put on the jerseys Friday night are smart that's all they see too.
  13. Old joke ... Q: How do you keep an idiot in suspense? A: I'll tell you tomorrow. Ba-dump-bump .... ting!
  14. If Smaby left we have Bina coming back and Jake Marto coming in. Finley should be able to handle the "big guy" role by then (and Lee should be filling out that 6'3" frame). Anything beyond that is pure speculation.
  15. Yup.
  16. They should have never been handed out with that error. A formal letter of apology from the WCHA to the University of North Dakota is in order. I believe the same would be true from Red Baron (and maybe theirs should have a check with it). PS - Red Baron is part of Schwan's. Boycott (until they apologize) anyone? http://www.schwansfoodservice.com/Brands/RedBaron.asp

    Mussman

Lennon has just moved himself to be the ILB coach. He gave over QB coaching responsibilities (in addition to OC) to Mussman. (Mussman will be handing off O-line duties.) Coincidence? I think not.
  18. 'Hating' is a perjorative word. I believe fans want, if a change is made, a total housecleaning and fresh start. 'Hate' isn't the word; 'change' is.
  19. Uh, in a word, no. From the NCAA's web site: UND home average hockey attendance (2003-04): 10870 2005 NCAA mens basketball teams with better home average attendance? Just 33 of 326 of them (10%). PS - Minnesota mens BB average in 2005: #35, 10566.
  20. Moral of the Story: Don't mess with the green on March Seventeen.
  21. Now everyone say it with me: All we want in WCHA Semifinal #2 is a sesquicentenial-dupple-dee-whoo-pee-dee-overtime game!
  22. Sssshhhhh ..... Don't wake Goldie.
  23. How many times did we miss an empty net today?
  24. Kaip? Again? Kaip. That must be Irish.
  25. Thought he'd lost 'em.
