If UND really did want to completely screw NDSU why'd RT allow NDSU on any UND schedule? Wouldn't that have been the complete job? (That would have made NDSU find even more games in the minor sports: more time, more effort, more travel, more money.) Does playing baseball and other sports align with the "total screw" philosophy? Dare I say "No." Risky considering the positions and statements from Taylor and Ruley to Buning's recent overtures. It may have been purely vindictive reaction from Gene and Amy due to (I'll admit poor timing and thus poor treatment) past events. But vindictiveness is a trait and it can come out post- or pre-. Let me translate those for you: Institutional support is university discretionary funds (from various sources like donors who don't specify a use for the money, or outside grant program funds, or interest on bonds held) that could go to any department or program but that are funneled to run athletics. State government support is just that. Student fees is just that. Here's a striking paragraph from that report's executive summary:
