There appears to have been strongarming going on, but on whom by whom may be in question. Indeed.
-
There seemed to be a lot going on (people talking to people about seemingly the same subject again and again), yet, fortunately for those involved, the open meetings law (specifically "quarum") was not broken. But still, eight pages of exploratory examination just to say "no law was broken" seems like a lot. Why'd the AG make such an explicit effort to document all the conversation and goings-on of a non-violation?
-
" ... this elaborate plan to force Chancellor Potts to resign ... " Dr. Chapman doesn't recall such a conversation, but it sure seems, from reading that AG opinion, like Paulson, Smith, and even Gov. Hoeven, were working for Dr. Chapman (and what Dr. Chapman doesn't recall that he might have left, as an impression to some, as a demand for his staying). Wherever did all of these notions and impressions of plans and demands come from?
-
Dr. Chapman must need a vacation and rest. His memory and recollection seems much worse than the others.
-
"For the purposes of this opinion ... "? " ... of this opinion ..."? What the heck does that mean?
-
Do we want a university system that includes a Medical School and a Law School? It costs more money per student to run those.
-
And I gave the link. Do a Google search if nothing else.
-
Careful there too. Taylor (Chapman?) has brought that notion up to help NDSU athletics.

The Fighting Sioux Club raised more money than TeamMakers last year. Brookings is smaller than Grand Forks. And finally, from http://www.in-forum.com/articles/index.cfm?id=130767

Most recently reported (updated) census figures, Fargo's population decreased. Shut 'er down. Money drain? Hockey? From UND's DI Report (FY05 numbers): Mens Hockey revenues: $4,145,039 Mens Hockey expenses: $3,374,206 Womens Hockey revenues: $267,772 Womens Hockey expenses: $543,527 Do the math: UND Hockey is "net black."

Careful. The academic fiscal year just ended for NDUS schools and that statement may have some, shall we say, "recoil."

Cross-reference: Brendan Morrison, Michigan, 1997.

That's not exactly a "ringing endorsement" of a move. Where's all the negativism toward UNO and their chancellor for that?

Believing firmly in the law, the Law of Unintended Consequences that is, I see this notion of benefitting the "good PP teams" backfiring: I see the WCHA's "situational officials" seeing teams getting slammed with giving up 30+% goals in PK situations. I see those same officials not wanting to give the team with the 30+% powerplay more opportunities. I see those officials (led by Bruce "league parity is good" McLeod) letting weaker teams get away with even more (rather than putting them down a man) because of this "no icing on PK" notion. However, let it be said, under a "no icing on PK" system, I believe you'll see teams putting in taller glasss so it's easier to go "high off the glass" out to center and yet not ice the puck.

"Are you kidding me?" And here I thought you were paying more attention to Lenny Briscoe than Jack McCoy.
-
That's where I'm at in this. All this squirming around just tells me that they don't have any other "play" in the courts. Allan Sjodin: "The procedure needs to be right. ... We have one misson -- justice for her."

Off the meds again, eh?

Who was the guy that kept telling you, when Jordan was recruited, that he isn't a "tip of the hat" to Zach or JP but a real, solid goalie with very good potential? Who was that again? What'd that guy say again? Oh yeah, something like, "Jordan may well go down in Sioux Hockey history as more significant than Zach."
-
New Gopher Hockey team rules: - no more "tickets for cover" exchanges, only "sticks or other gear for cover" - any minors have to pay cover for non-minor fellow players they're with - recruits are no longer allowed to be the designated driver away from Blarney's (You know I'm kidding and picking on an easy target.)
-
Does everyone who signs immediately go to the NHL? Do teams sign guys who can't do much more in college to develop in the minors, especially goalies? (How long was Ed Belfour down before he started winning Vezina's and Cups?) If you believe the average Sioux fan thinks Parise will have Martin Brodeur's job by November 1, you need to buy a better quality tin foil to make hats out of from now on.

It is a tough decision (if it's even being looked at). Look at what DU went through in 1999. If DU has "weather concerns", what do we have in North Dakota? As far as upgrading Kraft or building a new field, would this really help UND recruit against Newman Field? Would $2.5 million really be DI calibre?

Because of speculation by fans on an Internet board? I sure hope not. Prospects should be listening to this, not fans here:

No, no. With this new "rock star" fame, he's going by "C-Kup." He'll be introducing a new line of fashion for the ladies very soon. The slogan is, "Every lady wants to fill out a C-Kup." PS - "Dirty" and "PCM" are again battling, this time to be C-Kup's agent.

Depends on which river and where on it (meaning flood protected like the Red in Winnipeg).

I have a feeling that this will not be the last we hear of this matter.
