  1. KVLY-TV 11 reported the first meeting of UND's "detailed plans" 27-person committee was held. Where are the newspapers covering the details?
  2. This should draw them out of the woodwork .... http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/15393926.htm
  3. Call me silly, but wouldn't that help UND's case in a legal forum? It's pretty simple using that to point to not being given a fair hearing or appeal from the committee that Harrison chairs.
  4. His drinking buddies call him Tre'.
  5. Get the eyes checked old guy, those are Carhartt coveralls.
  6. You guys only wish you could look as good as Al does when he wears the 'library lady' chain on his glasses (so they hand like a necklace). The Brooks/George to Moss comment may have finally turned me.
  7. Select your favorite response: A) So no more Bacardi Silver and Jose Cuervo Black Medallion for me, eh? B) Good, I've been looking for a reason other than 'Randy Moss'. C) NEVER! Al Davis rules!
  8. I'll give you half. The first paragraph I believe you miss horribly. Besides Colorado College (local, short, trip for fans), UND puts more fans in seats in DU's rink than any other school that DU has to potential to be in an all-sports conference with. There are many UND fans in the Denver area and they come out for hockey. My guess is that they'd come out for BB also (because of the limited number of UND events in that region). And it's not just UND fans with this notion (see DU fan 'puck swami'). The second paragraph of yours I agree with. There'd be no special charm for UND in a Big Ten BB arena, even against WCHA rivals. (The only exception might be "sandwiching" a Saturday afternoon BB game between the Friday and Saturday night games of a WCHA series.) However, the same "no special charm" aspect holds for any mid-major or wannabe in a Big Ten arena.
  9. There'd be a lot of positives for the three you mention in that scenario: - UBC would be getting two "friends" with a lot of college hockey credibility to help them into the NCAA - Denver would be getting long-time rival in hockey for other sport rivalries - UND would be getting into the BSC where they may otherwise not be as interesting to them and - the BSC would be getting the Vancouver and Denver TV markets - the BSC would be getting a school with strong potential for DI-AA football success It all sounds pretty good, but, a lot of chips are left to fall. I'd rather see a press release than internet speculation.
  10. http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/footba...?PLAYER_ID=4235 " ... Nephew of Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy." http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/footba...?PLAYER_ID=4335 " ... Uncle Montae Reagor is a defensive lineman for the NFL's Indianapolis Colts ... " Does this mean I have to give up my Silver and Black and start cheering for Peyton Manning?
  11. Why does Reggie Stecher appear on the web link roster but not on the roster in this week's preview PDF?
  12. I feel sorry for opposing kickers. Coach: Kick to the slow one. Kicker: Which is that?
  13. In that late-fall timeframe Sweeney is stretched very thin given football and hockey. This has to help out Pat Sweeney. Given that Hammer is the Sioux Football radio voice, and is a former TV guy, he's the logical choice. The cross-over from Hammer on Clear Channel radio to Forum Comm television is rather interesting however. I wonder if UND doesn't have "selection rights" for hosts for those shows. That'd be a possible answer.
  14. There are three kinds of lies: - lies - damned lies - statistics "850" is a statistic until we know more about it. Where's the how and why behind it? Please don't tell me about raises for a couple administrators because that ain't "850". (If it is, I gotta get out of deliveries and folding towels. ;) ) Why does that number exist? How did it come about? Specific line-item details please. I have a gut feeling that 'booya and star2city aren't too far off the mark with much of what they say. Details. Please.
  15. I'm not a delivery-boy by trade either, but I guess I'm doing that too now. Let me finish folding this load and I'll be over.
  16. C - Porter A - Fabian A - ask me after Ironman
  17. Excellent point. Best thing I've read as I'm standing here folding towels*. * I'm not a towel-folder by trade, but someone has to do it if it's not being done.
  18. Pardon me for stepping in, but, for there to be a "double standard" mustn't there have been a firstly imposed standard that was not equally applied? Did I miss the news that someone was suspended or banned and others not?
  19. What ever happened to being a humble and respectful guest in someone else's house?
  20. Doesn't he have his own operation at BSU to run now? Why bring him up?
  21. That he admitted it and you won't.
  22. The Sioux defense of this year will not be the mean-and-make-you-squeal, physically punishing variety like Schneider-Jones-Greene-Finley-Fuher a few years back. However, Radke-Chorney-Jones-Lee-Finley may be the most skilled and talented group of defensemen at UND since the early 1980s (and we know about the long pro careers of James Patrick, Craig Ludwig, and Rick Zombo). Putting my thought another way: - In the Schneider et al era, UND's defense was disparaged as "can't make a break-out pass" (but could they break you). - Now, in the Chorney-Jones-Lee et al era UND's defense isn't physical enough for the pundits. Different styles, but they'll still dominate the ice in their own way. Which WCHA D-corps would Lammy trade for those guys? There's your answer.
  23. Apologies, but you two were the first two I figured to come back with an "I expected it" response to my Point Five. (PCM was third choice. Feel better? )
  24. The weather always seems to choose "trick".
  25. My Top 5 WCHA predictions: 1. Duluth will be the biggest "up mover". I can't pick SCSU in that role due to their showing late last season. People will see Motzko's boys coming (and be ready) moreso than Sandy's lads. 2. Wisconsin will be the biggest "down mover". They lost a lot of skilled, experienced guys and it takes new players time to adapt to the Eaves system. If this doesn't happen hand the Hobey to Brian Elliott. 3. More than half of MSU-Mankato's goals will come from freshmen. Where else will they come from? 4. Something will happen that none of us expect. 5. Someone will claim they expected it anyway. (That's called pre-empting Dirty and redwing77.)
