They'll complain REA has too many NCAA Mens Hockey Championship banners in the rafters ... oh ... wait ...

Everett, WA -- a Seattle suburb. Seattle -- a town without an NBA team. Portland? You mean that west coast city that is home to an NBA team? What's Seth's dad do again? Something about "NBA assistant coach with NJN" ... Hmmm ... interesting coincidence ...

Instigator. Reaction.

You know what that's called don't you? If not, ask the Secret Service. They're brutally familiar with the term lately.
-
At this point, with the little one knows from a Twitter twip, twap, twerp (or whatever you call it) I guess I'd also speculate if Everett is trying to get what they can from the pick. The conspiracy theory would be SJ told Everett that he won't play for them but would play in a place like ... Portland. Again, it's all speculation. I'll wait for the lad to speak aloud his final decision.

As I said, this started with Jim Delaney, Barry Alvarez, and the Big Ten Network. The last one (BTN) is also able to be spelled as "$$$$$". The WCHA without Minnesota and Wisconsin, well, here it is: So DU and UND make the same "$$$$$" decision Minnesota and Wisconsin did. But DU and UND did it in reaction to the first move.

Let me read the contract then I'll give an opinion. (The REA folks have read it and gave theirs when they signed it. )

Out west it's LAK/STL** and keeping the LA television market in play has to make the NHL happy; however, ... The notion of a NAS/PHX series (can you say "zero television interest"?) surely has them terrified. And if OTT goes down, sure they keep NY television interest, but they lose the last Canadian team! **LATE EDIT -- just realized this ensures at least one UND alumnus in the Western finals. (Greene or Oshie and Porter).

Goon, there are people who still believe the earth is flat also.

The Big Ten's "if six play a sport we play in conference" rule is strictly a Big Ten rule. They could've changed their own rules to allow for the traditional hockey conferences to stay together. Instead, they chose Penn State and forming BIg Ten Hockey over the traditional conferences. The Big Ten looked out for themselves first (as well they should). Don't be mad at DU, CC, UMD, UNO, UND, et al for doing the same.
-
All Minnesota did is roll over for Jim Delaney and Barry Alvarez and the fat Big Ten Network paycheck. The good of college hockey came in at least fourth on the list. MSU-Mankato came in somewhere behind that. PS - Minnesota is playing nice because they don't need you little guys (BSU, UMD, SCSU, MSU-M) making too much noise to the Legislature in St. Paul. Be sure to pick up the crumbs they leave you.

"My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious." -- Simone I guess I'll wait for young Mr. Jones to speak for himself, one way or another.

The NCAA kept going back to the settlement agreement and stating that they've done nothing to violate it. That doesn't sound like a group looking to settle out of court.
-
If the majority of the membership votes for it, yes, the organization can.

Judge Erickson had some deep and pointed questions on how SL had any standing (to bring a suit) relative to the State/NCAA settlement agreement. Maybe Chewey can explain the ND state law that Soderstrom tried to use to claim the pipe ceremony has some sort of legal standing in ND law because it was a "tribal ritual." Even after that, Judge Erickson asked even if the name was given as a gift was the State obligated or forced to use the name. To answer your question directly, the settlement is an extremely big hurdle for anyone going up against it.
-
Erickson's physical reaction to that was priceless. (I like to watch mannerisms and behaviors to try to read what people are thinking.)
-
Basically pointed to settlement agreement and pointed out the State agreed to it also.
-
Good. What was your favorite moment: - when Judge Erickson had to clue in Soderstrom et al that they'd completely missed the possible claim that the NCAA tortiously interfered with an agreement between SL and the State, or, - when Judge Erickson asked Duncan why one tribe was enough if the tribe was Seminole or Chippewa, but not SIoux, or, - when Judge Erickson asked Soderstrom how he can claim the statute of limitations for filing hadn't expired before SL filed. What did I learn? I learned Judge Erickson's favorite phrase is "I'm trying to wrap my head around" some argument or claim.

Standing Rock Tribal Council has made their statement. It's done as they see it.

Well, the US U-18s are in the gold medal game after defeating Canada 2-1 today in the semifinals. Jones with 2 assists. http://stats.iihf.com/Hydra/292/IHM292227_74_3_0.pdf I almost feel sorry for the lad. Soon he's going from that pressure cooker back to the states and the pressure cooker of "what'd you decide?"
