  1. I'd guess that unless you're a local, or going to events in GF coming from parts east of GF, you probably don't venture downtown to eat. That's probably even more true now with some of the restaurants along 32nd Ave S.
  2. Which "academic" are we talking about here? The Charles E. Kupchella academic, who was on the record with USCHO saying how he thought the debate on campus was good. He stated that debates like this, with many shades of grey, are real and encountered every day in the world and how it sharpens minds to consider all the views and nuances, or The Robert O. Kelley academic, who is talking a great game about open and transparent process, but things just seem to 'happen' the way he wants them too. But no one really seems to know how. But the outcome seems pre-defined to Kelley's liking. So which "academic" flavor do you favor: Open thought and debate, or rubric handed down from on high.
  3. There's a group than can help with that ...
  4. KRACH says that UAA should be able to beat UND roughly one of every four games. Did you hear that you Friday night floppers? And just in case any of us forgot ...
  5. In other news ... the sun rose in the east this morning.
  6. It's bad when I think I could shoot free throws as well.
  7. I agree with this, but I'd add really tough penalties for drinking and driving, up to and including if you're drunk and kill someone with a car you face the death penalty.
  8. It is always good form to post quotes from a movie where a main character wears a hockey jersey.
  9. Allow us to go to the ultimate oracle on the Kristo situation ... Thank you Ferris Bueller.
  10. If Rocco Grimaldi was six inches taller I'd be very concerned. I'm guessing his drafting team will want to see how he performs against bigger, older players for at least one year.
  11. Right now, given the Olympic ice cluster in the middle of the standings, I'd say it's more likely than not for UM to play another Olympic ice team. Current WCHA standings - home ice size UND - NHL DU - NHL UMD - NHL UW - Olympic (200 x 97) UNO - NHL UM - Olympic CC - Olympic SCSU - Olympic UAA - Olympic MSUM - Olympic BSU - NHL Tech - NHL
  12. Participate in a big lie. That make him Tom Douplicitous. And then to not reap the end reward (UND in Summit) of the big lie makes him Tom Doufus.
  13. Stir the pot. Sell newspapers. So, in a word, yes.
  14. That's a good question: According to Douple, Kelley got what he wanted out of the Summit. So why didn't the Summit extend the offer and UND join right away? The Summit knew Kelley/UND owed them at that point. What changed? There's something else missing here and we'll probably never know what it is.
  15. Comical? I'd say farcical, but that's me. The question really is a good question: Why would Douple do that for a non-member? Douple has to be feeling heat right now. The Big Sky is in his backyard. People have to be asking how that happened. We'll never know exactly who told Douple what and when, or if it really ever happened as Kelley is denying it. Farcical. But maybe all this is why some in the Legislature are taking interest.
  16. Hakstol in my mind only has one thing to prove: Can he beat ... Jerry York. York's teams seem to have the formula to beat Hak's teams. It looks like Yale (last year) and Maine (this year twice) found Jerry's formula. That to me is the only thing Dave Hakstol needs to figure out. Once he can figure out how to play and win a non-WCHA style, eastern-speed style of game, he'll be just fine.
  17. UND (54%) is right in line with the national average (57%). High School 2.0, based on the numbers, seems to be in the Fargo-Moorhead metro area (NDSU 47%, MSU-M 40%).
  18. Hak feel pressure to win? Nah, I'm sure not. I mean it's not like his father in law is a UND Hockey letterwinner and Executive VP of the UND Alumni Association and Foundation. Oh ... wait ...
  19. Or worse, they view it as High School 2.0.
  20. Colors? Athletics. http://www.und.edu/dept/purchase/docs/Styleguide.pdf University in general. http://writersconference.und.nodak.edu/university-relations/branding/standards.cfm
  21. As long as Dell keeps playing this way I'd expect to see him for UNO and CC. But I'd be surprised to not see Eidsness during the eight-game stretch that follows that (UAA, SCSU, BSU, MTU).
  22. Not just the word "Sioux" but that logo (which is as American Indian related as it can get) puts UND on the NCAA list. To keep that logo, just like the name, takes two tribes.
  23. Stephen King's writings look amateurish compared to this flood forecast.
  24. These are probably the closed odds in the entire thread.
